For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello. I sort of feel okish but a bit delicate. And cross. Dp would't / couldn't come home any earlier than normal. I asked him to bring easy to make and easy to eat food and some lemonade for me. He came home with a tin of baked beans and a bottle of wine. I went to bed for half an hour, and came down to him frying potatoes for dinner! There's no way any of us, apart from him are going to eat fried potatoes at the moment. DD2 has eaten absolutely nothing and is crying and saying 'i hate that smell!' - the smell being oily fatty frying potatoes! Grrahhhhhh! When i just explained in quaveringly controlled voice he glared and said he doesn't think there's a problem, either eat it or don't. Nrrnnnng.Gah!

Sorry to come here and moan but someone say a nice thing because i feel wobbly and sick and cross.

Oh god and sorry if i upset anyone with a phobia earlier i didn't think.

womblingalong · 30/10/2007 18:41

Boco,

Oh you poor unwell thing, your poor DD's too. I can imagine that that would be the last thing you'd all feel like eating, why can DP's just not put theri brains in gear sometimes am for you all.

I am sending you soup, fruit and tea and toast vibes, and a large mug of hot ginger honey and lemon.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 18:51

Oh Boco aaargh. If there is anything worse than being ill, it is being ill, and having someone come home ostensibly to look after you, and completely failing to help in every way. I hope you are all greatly improved over night. Glad the pc is behaving again, I freak out when ours doesn't work

FMF none of my clothes were fitting me anyway so at least now I have an excuse. I got out the scales and coincidentally or otherwise, I am now exact same weight I was when I conceived ds. Am wondering whether I needed to be a bit heavier to be properly fertile? or have just been comfort eating while waiting to conceive

Have had pasta with tomato and red pepper sauce, corn, kidney beans and half a head of broccoli. Am still hopeful for diet sheet from 100. Does anyone know a good vegetarian nutrition for pg book, or website? I would quite like to have some boxes to tick, it would reassure me.

Aha! So you'll have several fabulous skirts hanging forlornly in your wardrobe then....after all that searching we all did for you!!!

Tatties · 30/10/2007 18:58

Boco and at your dp!

That's really not on. He REALLY should have come home earlier. I would be distraught if dp didn't come home if we were ill. Grrr on your behalf again.

I really home you get a decent night tonight Boco

FK, sorry to hear about your tension last week. I know what you mean about the conversations where nothing gets resolved... Are things any better now?

littledRACHula · 30/10/2007 19:11

Poor Boco and bocolettes.
Men just aren't good at that kind of thing, are they?

Hope you get a better night.

Franny, I have a Rose Elliot book. You are welcome to it, it s called "Mother, baby and Toddler" I htink. But it may be out of date, as I got it when dd1 was born, almost 7 years ago. Have a look on Amazon, and if you would like it, let me know..

Apologies for the talk about birds. I won't tell you anymore...

TooTicky, where are you? I am all excited now.
Did you used to post under another name, MM?

Papillon · 30/10/2007 19:21

Congratulations Franny

long live 10/10 chief

OozingSlashesFromTigerFeet · 30/10/2007 19:44

Boco & FrayedKnot, sorry about your man troubles, they really can be ridiculous at times can't they?

Mine is very much a "head in the sand" type that won't talk about anything more important than what happened at work today. And I need to talk to him about really important stuff.

On a lighter note, today I have eaten three apples and lots of satsumas - they were really nice, I just couldn't stop

pinkspottywellies · 30/10/2007 19:48

Haven't read the whole thread but I've joined MrsC and 100x bouncing on the sofa!!! (are you still there?!) Congratulations Franny. I'm soooooo excited

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 19:52

LittleRach, we're in Seend. Where are you?

Boco, I hope you all sleep well. And wake up feel miraculously better. And if dh gets ill, you can fry things at him.

Franny, bless you for wanting to tick nutritional boxes. I really think you have nothing to worry about.

I was in sole charge of 6 children and a dog this afternoon. We walked along the canal and went to the park. It went rather well.

FrayedKnot · 30/10/2007 19:58

Boco god as you can see I am a bit {hmm} of DP's in general at the mo, but completely get that kind of thing too...hope you have a better night tonight

We have these big discussions every so often..they resolve nothing, but do clear the air, if that makes sense

littledRACHula · 30/10/2007 20:00

We are near Trowbridge/Westbury.

Seend is lovely. I like the canal/locks bit.
And there used to be a nice pub, The Barge? But I think it had new management??

I rather like Devizes. And I worked in Whiteley a few years ago.

Bocoreepy · 30/10/2007 20:06

I was born in Devizes. I don't know what it's like though.

littledRACHula · 30/10/2007 20:09

Nicer than trowbridge!

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 20:17

I WANT BOXES TooT

I may make my own chart just so I can tick boxes [neurotic]

thanks for offer of Rose Elliot book - I do have a pregnancy one of hers. She is so sort of woolly it made me a bit blah last time I read it. I will dig out and have a look.

and littlerach, I like talking about birds. We shall have to have a secret bird thread where we can go and whisper about herons and things

FMF that skirt has a bit of room in it yet. It's a summer one, though, so it may have had it's last wear for a while...oh no, I need to wear it to do a party in 2 weeks. So I must not balloon until then

FK I think that kind of conversation can be a great stress release if nothing else. i think having a big argument and then making up (even if nothing has really changes) can sort of bring you closer together and lets off lots of steam. i hope it improves things slightly.

Actaully, there was a crane school. So odd. Where they teach the little ones ot be nice. And they had isolated the really naughty one.

But the swans were really scarey. And dd2 got bitten by one.

She is that child, you know, there's always one? She got bitten by a pony at a farm in salisbury once. And a goat.

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 20:23

Please invite me to the bird thread if it materialises.

LittleRach, I live a few minutes walk from the Barge Inn.

Boco, Devizes is quite nice. I go there most Thursdays. Good health food shop and museum and library and parky bit with geese and things. And definitely nicer than Trowbridge.

pinkspottywellies · 30/10/2007 20:25

Oh TooT just seen that you're in Seend - I've been to Car Boot sales there and mum lived in Yarnbrook until a couple of weeks ago!

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 20:25

Ds1 was bitten by a swan once. He held out his hand to it and said kissy kissy....
And then on his 3rd birthday a swan attacked his brand new scooter and we had to run away. It was rescued by a kind boat person.

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 20:26

They've stopped doing the boot sales now - nearest is Semington or Long Ashton. Not the same if you can't walk to it

pinkspottywellies · 30/10/2007 20:28

Do you mean Peter Vaughn TooT? I got his book for a friend then for me and I e-mailed him about it and he e-mailed back!

pinkspottywellies · 30/10/2007 20:29

That was about the health food shop

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 20:29

LOL I was bored

Yarnbrook is where I queue on the way to school each day!

And my friend lives along there too.

pinkspottywellies · 30/10/2007 20:32
