For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Aw the poor wee love Boco. Will you be able to have a relaxed cuddly day on the sofa tomorrow?

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2007 21:13

Avi thank you I am a bit more resigned to all the annoying things now. The worst one is the bloke who hires the hall out to me where I do all my work. He has (by mistake) let someone else book a session that overlaps with my time, and he won't do anything about it but expects ME to either

a) set up for my session while someone else is using the hall (this will totally inconvenience me and them. Well actually it's impossible)

b) change my session times to avoid the clash - I advertise these sessions across the region and have a large customer base who turn up each week on a drop in basis. Changing the sessions would have a very negative impact on numbers of attendees - plus is not actually possible - I run two sessions that afternoon - nobody wants to come to a toddler class that finishes at 5 pm

c) OR negotiate with the teacher who holds the drama class for the sixth form college who have booked the hall. The teacher is not going to be able to do fuck all about it! He is just turning up for work when he is told to.

What the hall hire man will NOT do is phone the person at the college and say he has made a mistake and they can't have the hall at that time after all. I have been hiring this hall for 3 years now and he wants me to sort out his mistake or lump it. The old bastard. I am livid, and very tense. I hate people mucking about with my work.

Really Franny? What's your favourite?

BBBee · 18/10/2007 21:14

I am drinking LOADS of coffee but everyday I go to the supermatker and buy fruit - ;like bags of apples and eat them during the day. I am being well good. In factr if I had the fing time to be oon here I would blow you babies out the wayre - well not franny obv as she eats an allotment for breakfast.

My course is weird in a great way. Like having another life!

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2007 21:17

"In factr if I had the fing time to be oon here I would blow you babies out the wayre"

it's not a typing course, I take it?

Tatties I like World in My Eyes best

Snuggly day on the sofa would be good, but already promised to help out at a birthday party in the morning, then getting hair cut, then looking after friends 4 month old baby and then taking dd2 to swimming lessons.

I'm considering radical hair changes, i'm worried that i'm too old for my hair and it is too big for me. But fear change.

Course sounds exciting Bee.

Franny can't you complain to anyone above hall man? He sounds incompetent and silly. You can't be doing with that.

He is a twat. The man above him is AFAIK the vicar, who when asked (from prior experience of hall man's twattishness) says "Oh gosh I don't know X deals with all that."

Bee I am sorry if I was rude, it was meant to be funny

Boco if you are too old for your hair I think I am in trouble for sure. I do think most people look better with less hair, really, but I did know one very groomed and glam woman with beautiful almost waist length hair who cut it into a bob when she was about my age. She never quite looked so glamorous again. Mind you, hers was nice and looked brushed and stuff

I worry they will chuck me out if I cause too much fuss. I would like to say "right sod your hall then, i will go elsewhere", but I can't afford to and there is no other hall local to me that would be half so convenient.

Add to this my insurance premiums seem to be doubling, and I'm £30 down on the last 3 week's takings (I rely on people's honesty in putting money in the tin), and I am not a happy camper

I wo9uld reccomend haircut (but as you may remember I have a small amount).

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2007 21:38

Well apparently not Avi I have paid them thousands over the years, I am gutted to be treated like this. I know how much you have spent does not determine the quality of service but it does seem exceptionally low of them

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2007 21:38

Yup

can you see the bits stuck in my teeth?

My aunt is nearly 70, she has dark coppery, longish curly hair (obviously coloured now), is slim, and looks about 55. Age is not a reason to have your hair cut off if you don;t want to, I don;t think

OTOH I can see the liberating thing could apply

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2007 21:41

I have noticed long hair does seem to drag a lot of people's faces down IYKWIM

yours looks pretty from what I have seen of it though Boco, certainly not too old for it
