For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Lionheart, you tell it your height, weight, fitness levels etc and it sets up a programme. You start off 3 times a week, about half an hour (warm up, 2 different games, you can add legs, arms, abs, yoga and different sections, then cool down) and it ups the difficulty and length of session as you improve. It's made by Nike. There's a website. I googled it the other week.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 22:11

I was being sarcastic stupid pervert boco!

BBBee · 07/10/2007 22:12

PSW - am liking the cut of your jib.

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:12

My only exercise is walking, but i do walk a lot, having no car. On a Wednesday for example i do 10 journeys to and from dds school. Each is only about 10 minutes, but that's still 100 minutes of walking, - and the journeys there are often jogging due to lateness. Dd scoots, i run, you know like in Rocky.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 22:13

Hello BBBee. Are you still there?

I am OK I think. Much better than a week ago. Annoying depression is trying to get itself into me. I am trying to get it out. A day on my own today has been v restorative.

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 22:14

Pardon BBB? Should I be pleased?

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 22:14

Is it like bacon?

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:15

PSW if you like flirting with pirates should be very pleased.

Oh dear Idris i'm sorry to hear that, but glad you had a day of restorative calm.

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 22:17

I don't understand so I'm going to bed.

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:21

Well i just thought 'cut of yer jib' was pirate talk for 'i like you'.

I'm going to bed too. Good night Veggers.

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 22:22

there is a photo of ds's fishy face on my profile....and one of us both

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 22:22

DH realised my extreme irratibility was due to silly depression last Saturday. Visit to gp on Monday confirmed it.

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 22:24

aah beautiful pics

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:27

Lully you're stunning!

Idris it's great that you went to gp and recognise it quickly - are you getting any help?

I really am going to bed, dp just came and gave me stern words about how i spend too long on here and neglected his poor parents He's gone to bed with disappointed grave face.

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 22:28

I had a serious flirt with a very beautiful Belgian sailor years ago.....veeeeeeeeeeery tall, dark ringlety long hair, bandana, dark twinkly eyes.......he was actually stunning & looked like something from a pirate movie
There ship was docked for the night....i walked into a pub & there he was with his fellow crew ,surrounded by swooning females....our eyes met...we connected & spent the evening walking & talking....& were went to meet the next a.m.....but I chickened out & watched him sitting forlornly waiting for me

ah me......

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:29

Hello Possum No, no hot water but we went swimming today and basked in the showers. I am very thankful that I haven't had slug problems yet because I sort of like them from a distance. And snails are really sweet if you look into their eyes. Isn't there something about them not crossing copper wire? I don't like the sound of the parasitic thingummies. Did you know that most people who use slug pellets do it in an illegal way? Apparently you're only supposed to put one down then leave a certain gap before the next, not put them in piles. And if you find a badger looking ill and it is grey-yellow inside its lips its insides are being dissolved by slug pellets and it is beyond help. But badgers like the taste of them, poor things. I learnt all this from my driving instructor who used to be an RSPCA man.

And by the time I post this, you'll all be talking about something entirely different. Or else you'll have gone to bed.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:31

Beeyootiful pics LL, and lovely to see you at last

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:32

I generally walk 4 miles a day, sometimes more. One day I will do swimming and yoga and trampolining and things, but right now I am needed.

AllGonePossum · 07/10/2007 22:33

Toot, do you think it would make a badger poorly if they ate slugs that had been inebriated to death? Like having one too many liquer chocolates? I adore badgers, wouldn't want to give them indegestion.
LL, did you used to work as model? You have amazing bone structure.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:33

Oh, you have all gone to bed

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 22:33

Am taking ADs (again. oh well) and GP has put me on the list for CBT which will be a Good Thing.

I think work is part of it. Need to decide what to do about it. But not going to do anything in a hurry.

Artichoke was very good. DH has turned his inside out and made a flower.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:34

Ooh, Possum
I don't know about badger innebriation. Might make them more vulnerable on the roads?

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 22:35

Your pictures are lovely LL. And I recognise that picture of your DS from the JMB catalogue .

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 22:36

Good luck Idris. Work is a bugger of an issue. Financially, there is no way I should be SAHMing, but I couldn't leave dd2 without great misery, so there we are.

Lolcats · 07/10/2007 22:36

Does peppermint tea count as a veg portion?
