For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

What are the wigs like Lully? Are they not glamorous and fab? I got the impression modern wigs were pretty good. Or is it just the whole concept, not the wigs themselves?

can you wear nice tights over your support stockings? Excuse ignorance, I don't know what they look like

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 21:20

oh and I think it is that nasty programme with Claire Verity on

some people will be watching that, the rest are being conjugal I suspect

(am guitar widow tonight so plenty of time to myself)

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 21:21

stockings are thick so you aren't allowed to wear anything over the top so have flung all my long lovely skirts away

wigs vary....good ones seem to be about £1500 though ...gulp

well done Dior....woooooo hooooooo!!

oh gosh franny..that programme...i cannot watch it anymore...it makes me weep

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 21:31

Oh god, what a price! I think it is worth getting the very best one you can afford, FWIW. But oh blimey

feeling down about your hair and clothes, in addition to feeling ill and worried is such a miserable thing for you. Feeling feminine and having beautiful luxurious things is very important to your wellbeing, isn't it?

Hello Dior! Good to hear about the portions, keep it up.

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 21:32

Lully it is twisted that such programmes are made in the name of entertainment and education IMO

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2007 21:33

Congrats Dior!! That's brilliant.

I am watching the programme

I am cheering the coupl who have broken Claire's rules and think it's funny.

Oh but ow she's advocating starving the babies so I may have to switch off.

The other problem is it makes me feel very broody

I have switched off now, you are right Franny. It just came on afetr Wild Food and I got sucked in.

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 21:45

Oh FK

I didn't mean that you were twisted for watching it

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2007 22:01

No,I knew what you meant

They are sensationalizing the Truby King stuff and it is kind of seeming to be ridiculed, but obviously it's for entertainment and small babies appear to be suffering. Continuum concept stuff would be interesting if we saw more than 2 seconds of it per program. 'Nuff said!

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2007 22:03

Hatwoman needs some veg tips, can we convert her

womblingalong · 09/10/2007 22:11

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 22:42

Franny, both your caterpillars sound like the ones who joined forces to decimate our broccoli. It was growing beautifully too

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 22:45

blimey wombling....i feel exhausted reading all that!

our fridge freezer is making a veeeerrrry loud annoying rattly buzzing sound >>>panics>>>>
it's about to keel over & die isn't it??
oh woe

it's getting louder by the hour

Boco · 09/10/2007 22:51

Hello

Blimey Lully - that's a ridiculous price for wigs! Hope there are some cheaper places you could try. Must be a hard thing to think about.

DD had a friend round for tea. I made shepherds pie with butternut squash and pepper and courgette and onion in and served with broccoli and peas. Friend picked up some courgette and said 'what is that!' and then picked up a bit of butternut squash and said 'oh my goodness - what on earth is that!!' and then when i suggested she was a brave girl and tried a bit she shrieked 'YUK, that is disgusting!!' She scraped the mash off the top and ate that - and when her mum arrived said 'the dinner was yuk mum!'

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 22:54

Conker and berry you think, 100x? I'm really quite scared of the redness. I think Franny is just as indecisive as me but nicely encouraging. If I could buy lots of pairs, I would certainly have one holly/violet combination. But it would be awful if they were my only pair, as these will be, and then I had a day when I felt very unflambuoyant and started to resent the lovely colours. What was wrong with conker and rust?

AND I have to order soon! My old hemp shoes let the water in and they shrink a little every time they get wet.

I don't think I've had any dinner

No, I haven't

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 22:56

Boco.........charming child!

ds's friends will have a shock when they c ome to tea here > they'll have quinoa with seaweed & like it

my last nannying job a little girl came to tea & I asked her if she liked rissoto & she duly nodded & said she did

when I served tea she went very quiet & pink & asked to see the packet.....
PACKET??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 22:57

What a dreadful child, Boco! Do not invite her back.

Wombling I am of your apples. We have had hardly any this year.

LL, would it be a totally and utterly stupid idea to try freecycle for wigs? I mean, you never know...

ahundredtimes · 09/10/2007 22:57

No, no conker and rust very good also. I can't remember what you were suggesting before, the choice I knocked back, but wasn't good, it was holly and puce or something.

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 22:58

Toot......>>
forget all this shoe malarkey & eat for goodness sake
