For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

where's me then?
(intrigued)

lionheart · 09/10/2007 15:00

See, if a womble were to assume a human form, survive a shipwreck and live to tell the tale, she would look like this.

lionheart · 09/10/2007 15:01

Oh, that's easy, Lullaby, but I must go and rush the school gates.

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 15:05
womblingalong · 09/10/2007 15:11

really lionheart? Think Laura Dern is spot on for Franny, now we know she is blonde. I just imagined her to have auburn hair.

Can't wait to see lullabyloo

lionheart · 09/10/2007 15:56

easy peasy Lullaby

lionheart · 09/10/2007 15:57

It's good, Wombling, she floats to the surface and lives (although, she is silly about the diamond).

lionheart · 09/10/2007 16:02

and she does other stuff that doesn't involve swooning.

IdrisTheDragon · 09/10/2007 16:17

Hello. I have been good and only just switched the computer on.

Found work emails showing people didn't either get or undertand or something my last email. Argh.

Need to do work on days when I'm not at work to kepe up with stuff.

Am about to make cottage pie (Tuesday isn't a work day ).

And did painting earlier on with DS and DD. I am not a natrural doing painting perosn so I am quite pleased with myself .

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 16:29

Right, there are new photos of the dcs on my profile and I think I have successfully made you all my mates. No photos of me because my hair is doing strange and unruly things.

Made mushroom curry and millet for lunch. It was very filling indeed. I am not good at curries. Mine are very mediocre. I love, but cannot attain, that magical Indian food smell.

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2007 16:37

Good grief it takes me so long to catch up every day...

Zippi...a climbing physicist...physique and intelligence

I have ahd an apple, cranberries and sultanas, veg soup, and some carrot...

cake
a slice of lentil and carrot loaf, and making chili for supper

I have sorted out my non-supermarket shopping list.

I think I can get everything except one or two tinned things from other places and for those I will use our local Somerfield or our local Spar both within walking distance.

DH is worried about cost but I explained I will no longer be buyin g him chocolate digestives or beer so it will be fine

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2007 16:39

do you know FK, it's stupid things like tinfoil or clothes pegs or loo roll I struggle with buying locally..:~(

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 18:24

Loo roll = Suma bulk buy

lovely photos Toot, really nice.

I have had romaine, tomato, avocado, beetroot, pepper and hummus salad for lunch. Baked mini pumpkin from our garden. Some corn. And blackberry and apple pie in the oven [channelling Nigella]

We have not one but two sorts of caterpillar roaming around the house. I know the big green lot are coming from the huge black cabbage in the fridge, but I don't know about the small transparent and black ones that keep appearing on the dining room table. They are making me Nervous.

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 18:26

and LOL at Laura Dern, will show dp and ask his opinion of similarity

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 18:36

am working backwards:

Holly that sounds great. I find the other thing that helps me is bulk cooking . Lots of good veg-packed meals like stew and soup, freeze really well so you can cook extra and save for another day. Otherwise I find cooking from scratch with lots of vegetables is very time consuming to do every day.

TooT if I was getting something with violet on I would probably get conker. I am not sure if you should get violet as a main colour to go with the colours you say you wear - you said khaki, etc? Oh maybe it would be ok. I love violet. I love greens and blues at the moment hence the holly suggestion. I think conker with holly would be nice, or conker with deep sea, or conker with violet, or holly with deep sea, or holly with violet if you were feeling mad. Or looking at the details colours, conker with something like retro blue or sky blue would be fab - ds has a pair of suede boots in these colours and they are beautiful.

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 18:38

Holly with turquoise? My god I can see why it is driving you spare

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 18:41

You know the more I look at them the more I want some

which style are you getting? I like Rowan. And honeysuckle although they would look a bit mutton on me probably.

FrayedKnot · 09/10/2007 18:55

DS & DH are in the bath together. There are sounds of great tidal waves crashing, whoops of laughter and they are eating beetle sandwiches

All lovely, but now I have to go and winch DS down from the ceiling to go to bed

Caterpillars with no known provenance would make me nervous too.

ahundredtimes · 09/10/2007 19:15

No TooT, not the combination you suggested, I can't remember what you said now, but it wasn't nice.

Conker / berry would be my choice. I know you don't want pinks and red, but will be much much better with blacks, browns and the berry will cheer it all up a bit. I think anyway.

I loved the pics. I heart dd1 up the tree. I adore her expression. She's soooo fab. I would be her friend at school, I'd be a bit frightened of her but also a little in love.

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 19:18

lol lol lionheart....oh i wish.........i adore her

Toot.....gorgeous pics
your lo's are beautiful
we want a pic of you though

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 19:20

i have had wild mushroom rissoto & rocket & parmesan salad with red roasted peppers

& baked apples with blackberry compote
i am full

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 19:36

100 I think we need a sort of countdown to the next birthday. Can we have some snippets about it please?

HOLLYHOBBIE am just drawing attention to the fact I did reply to your post earlier. Thought I had better put your name in full because it seemed to get lost in all this holly and conker business rather

Idris, about the painting - sometimes if I am feeling very hard pushed to do stuff with ds I write down what we have done, or take photos of it, kind of like 'evidence' that I have done a decent job of doing mummy stuff that day. Sometimes it motivates me. I think I find it hard sometimes not having an employer to report to at the end of the day. I am used to someone being quite grateful and admiring of all the stuff I have done with their child - you don't get any of that when it is your own ruddy child, do you?

Tatties lovely photo - you know, now I am 36, you being 27 seems unfeasibly and even impolitely young

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 20:34

where is everybody this e evening?

I am cold & bored...come & keep me company

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 21:00
