For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Oh avi thank you it is a bit, but I know you are now going to tell me to do scrabble words

Tatties · 09/10/2007 09:58

Gorgeous pictures wombling! Where was the last one taken?

lionheart · 09/10/2007 10:07

They are gorgeous, Wombling.

lionheart · 09/10/2007 10:12

Is all this sharing to do with the meet-up? No-one is ever how I visualise them.

lionheart · 09/10/2007 10:13

*Which is not to say I didn't think you'd be gorgeous, Wombling.

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 11:21

I suddenly had my doubts about holly and green. It seemed slightly mad.
Right, the colours are here
Conker or nut with a rust tulip?
I do like the holly but don't know what should go with it.
Pinks and reds are definitely out, I think.
Violet is tempting, but with what? Main colour or tulip?
Oh, I don't know !

I bought a travel scrabble set in a charity shop this morning. It is very sweet.

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 11:22

Wombling, gorgeous photos

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 11:23

Sorry, I meant doubts about holly and blue. See, it's driving me insensible.

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 11:24

There is something interesting on radio 4 now about children not spending enough time playing outside and discovering nature. Are you all listening to it?

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 11:27

No because we are all outdoors in the fresh air

womblingalong · 09/10/2007 11:51

Thanks everyone, I was very nervous about posting one of me, as I am always worried it will change how people relate to me. Lionheart, how did you imagine me?

The pics of me & DS were taken in the garden this summer, the two of DD were taken in Edinburgh, one at the assembly rooms.

TooT, I think Holly with Violet tulip sounds fab, and will make you smile every time you wear them. The more sober colours are lovely too, but I think shoes should make you happy, so I'd always go with the most cheerful option.

FrannyandZooey · 09/10/2007 12:14

Wombling you look more or less how I had imagined you - friendly and calm, with beautiful children

womblingalong · 09/10/2007 12:18

TooT,Can you add me to your mates, I would love to see your photos?

Franny I hope I am friendly, but def not calm, altho that photo was in the garden, nice and relaxed!

Tatties · 09/10/2007 12:29

Wombling I thought it Edinburgh! I know what you mean about posting photos. I am always wondering what people think of me. I may try and add another to my profile but my brain is a bit addled as I have been dealing with a tantrum for the last hour or so

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 12:39

Wombling, I don't even know how to do the mates thing! Perhaps I should try though as I tend to make photos visible to all but only for a short time.
I took some lovely photos of dcs yesterday on the way home from school but they are on my phone so I don't know how to load them Will ask dp when he gets back.

womblingalong · 09/10/2007 12:49

Tatties,

Fab pcs, Your DS has wonderful eyes, and so do you!

TooTicky · 09/10/2007 12:51

Right, I think I have added all the 10/10 regulars to my MN mates. Do you know if it is case sensitive? I have put capitals in some places where they shouldn't be.

hollyhobbie · 09/10/2007 14:14

hello. Sorry to drag this thread back to fruit & veg...
Just wanted to say 'thanks', we're nowhere near 10 yet, but just knowing about this thread, having the portions printout on the fridge and your advise Franny, is helping:
Extra fruit in the porridge.
Glass of juice.
Banana sandwiches for tea with DD instead of pasta pesto yesterday.

It's slow, but steady.

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 14:18

well done holly

have had apple/pear porridge

lionheart · 09/10/2007 14:40

lionheart · 09/10/2007 14:40

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 14:45

huh?

lionheart · 09/10/2007 14:48

'Tis Laura Dern (as if knowing that makes it any more logical).

Lullabyloo · 09/10/2007 14:50

lionheart · 09/10/2007 14:51

I have pictures of everyone in my head.
