For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We are a little fraught at times, which is natural I suppose. It is lovely to be able to spend more time with her but she does have a tendency to whinge which makes me irritable and unsympathetic. She is definitely happier now that she doesn't have people making horrid comments at her but she really needs some friends. Somehow.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 00:09

Rock of 'gages, cleft for me, let me hide my fruit in thee

Double portions, avoid health trouble, fire burn and veg soup bubble

Remember remember the 5th of November, cauliflower and peas in a pot,
I see no reason why cauliflower unseasoned should ever be forgot.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 00:13

Bugger it, I'm off to bed.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 07:37

LOL I like cauliflower unseasoned. We had better save that one for Bonfire Week.

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 09:35

I have got a slightly blocked up nose. I have to use one of those headset microphones at the party so if I sniff it will be amplified about 20 times. Nice.

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 09:53

Ok I have got a noticeably blocked up nose. And my singing sounds worse than normal. Ah god, why now. Does anyone know any good stuff to clear noses without making them drip? I don't mean herbal stuff I mean THE HARD STUFF. This is serious.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 09:55

Olbas Oil stuck up your nose is quite good at clearing it (but can't remember how much dripping it tends to cause).

I have been in our oh so glorious game btw .

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 09:56

oh thank you Idris

I am nervous about dripping, that will be worse I think

dp just offered me some flu tablets with caffeine and that fake ephedrine stuff but I think I will just go bonkers if I have those

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 10:03

I think that might make you very bouncy. Which might or might not be a good thing .

When is the party? How old are they? What do you do with them?

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 10:06

Sorry, that was a lot of questions. I am thinking about DS's forthcoming birthday (November) and wondering when children start to do more organised things in parties. He'll be 4. And I think wants basically the same party as last year (village hall, bouncy castle, craft table).

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 10:20

It's this afternoon, and they are going to be 4. I do singing, dancing, instruments, parachute games, playband games (we have a giant giant stretchy piece of elastic covered in beautiful pieces of material made by my friend). Oh and bubbles. And sniffing

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 10:20

I think village hall /bouncy castle /craft table is fab for 4 year olds.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 10:22

DD and DH have developed a cold. I hope they keep it to thjemselves.

(They have all gone to Oxford to see DH's family. I am on my own. For hours and hours ).

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 10:25

Oh what a shame My boys are going to the woods. I have to wash my hair and get ready for the party. I wonder how 100 is getting on, I love pavlova.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 10:27

I am going with DS's thoughts. He is amazingly good at knowing what he wants and what is a good idea .

He has also suggested we make picnic boxes for the people coming (so there isn't a plate of biscuits that gets decimated and sandwiches just sit there).

I am excited about him being 4 in less than two months time .

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 10:28

Pavlova is very yummy .

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 10:46

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh franny
can I book you for ds's 4th birthday next July
would you travel to Kent?????????
Oh please say yes...oh please....oh please
you are marvelous

there would have to be pirates though...in some shape or form....absolutely have to be pirates

i hope your cold doesn't develop...warm apple/pear juice with lots of grated ginger is a good cold blaster...as is a tincture of garlic, ginger, manuka honey & lemon.....but i know you dont 'do' garlic

ds was fine in the night thank goodness
He is all wired up & beside himself with excitement at the prospect of seeing Thomas & having tea with the fat controller later

oh lord.....i hope itt isn't jelly & chocolate biscuits

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 10:48

sod ginger, I need DRUGS

Lully be careful, I might take you up on the party proposition

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 10:48

mmmmmm.....pavlova
my mother was a dreadful, dreadful cook...well she didn't cook...she opened the freezer & bunged it in the fat fryer

but she made a mean summer fruit pavlova...crispy on the outside & chewy in the middle.....oh yum

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 10:50

ginger is miraculous stuff.......

you do not need drugs

plenty of garlicky, oniony soup, gallons of water, mass doses of vit c,gargle with said tincture or sea salt.....or just eat manuka honey....lots of

right.....i've booked you....it's official
the church hall is right next door

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 10:53

TooT.....you are such an amazing mummy
I so love reading your posts & all that you do with your children
you are a mummy that dreams are made of i think

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 11:30

Now my headset has run out of batteries

darn it

I am sure this never happens to Madonna

MrsCarrot · 07/10/2007 12:15

Oh, Franny - I'm sure it does but she has an army of battery fetchers!

Well, that was all very sharey last night wasn't it. I haven't told real life friends about some of that, don't know what it is with this room that inspires such expectoration.

I am waiting for Sainsburys to bring me some fruit.
