For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Good news Sk.

Hugely exciting news Boco.

Re the gym: I don't know I just thought it was you sort of sharing what you'd done that day. Tatties, I'd never noticed you going to the gym. Actually I do remember various people mentioning how they'd walked in the rain or something, and thinking, why are they telling us this?

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 18:37

lololol 100..you are priceless...you probably just thought I was showing off when talking about doing all those wonderful exercise DVD's...eh...eh...eh...as if I would feel the need to show off

FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2007 18:37

3andnomore go on and tell us what it was

I had an idea a while ago, we could have a thread just for coming up with titles and saying which ones we like the best, then when I am stuck for one I can just go and look on there

or is that a bit anal and organised? Do we prefer the cliff top excitement?

oh and Avi I thought you were saying "Gor blimey I really didn't want to know". I was quite disappointed when it emerged you were saying "for"

ahundredtimes · 26/09/2007 18:40

Well I thought it was ten out of ten.

So I ate three greengages and four pears and half an orchard and so I get 8 out of 10 today.

SauerKraut · 26/09/2007 18:40

3andnomore, can I just ask, how come your English is so good when you are German?

FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2007 18:41

Oh I have done well today while we are on topic

after 3 fruits at breakfast I had a big salad in Ask at lunchtime - artichoke, avocado, mozzarella, egg and leaves and stuff

then big bowl of everything soup with lentils for dinner

no specific exercise but running around at work, and I still ache from the gym on Monday

lionheart · 26/09/2007 18:42

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 18:42

OP posts:
SauerKraut · 26/09/2007 18:44

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 18:45

FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2007 18:45

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2007 18:46

yes 3and I knew YOU had

you can come and sit here next to my desk, and sharpen my pencils for me

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 26/09/2007 18:46

Well I didn't know did I? Until about ten minutes ago. That it was expected, I mean.

Actually I probably did. DD and I took new bike to park after school and I did lots and LOTS of strenuous running along beside and shouting encouraging things. That must count, if all that walking in the rain counted.

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 18:47

englsih...we did try with es to go bilingual, but I found it to difficult, as dh doesn't speak german, and well, it just complicated matters to much...i.e. you are meant to speak in only your mohtertongue to the child...well...that would have meant me translating to dh...and then Sven had hearing probs, and when we lived in Cyprus he was in a greek nursery, etc....and it just got to frustrating, as he completely lacked communication skills which led to behaviourial problems...and as soon as we settled on just speaking english, he learned it so quick and a lot of problems just vanished...

SauerKraut · 26/09/2007 18:49

LOL,3, my German granny is relearning her German too, with her great-grandchildren, after 60 years in the uk!
