For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lolol at the beginning of this thread - the deleted messages make it worse really - Franny just suddenly says 'that would be mrscunt!' - and you just have to guess what bb was saying. I think it was less rude before it was deleted. Poor B, it was funny, i'm sure no one minded.

I have had
plums - but horrible furry ones
watermelon - but horrible mushy bitty one
tomatoes
mango - perfect one
strawberries
banana
courgette
red pepper
grapes

BBBee · 09/09/2007 20:32

all the deleted posts were me urging franny not to swear.

Sauerkraut, I love mirableen...when I grew up, there were a few fruit trees in the "communal" Yard (grew up in a block of flats...), and one of the trees was mirabellen...they were lovely Although, I do remember one year, I climbed up in that tree, dressed only in a bikini....erm...and I fell off and underneath were all stinging nettles....well...that was fun...NOT....!
Oh, and if I am to believe my Dictionary, greengages are "reneklodes"...must say I have never heard of those neither...lol...but will look out for greengages, and maybe then memory will come to me...or I oculd ask my mum if she has ever heard of reneklode...!
And, you can get stilton in germany, so I would think you can over in switzerland too!

Ernest...I must admit, that I also have had enough to have the offered food refused over and over and over...so...I sort of do mine and when dh is there his food...and do it in a way that the Kids have off that meal what they like and add some other bits for them aswell....forinstance if I make pasta and veggie sauce for us...they have pasta, and something liek chicken or sausages or whatever and cucumber , carrot sticks or other veggies they like...! I try to offer a bit of what we then have...but usually it is refused...
Do you hvae a weekly market...you will usually find good f&v on those...well, in germany you do....! Although, I was mortified by the price of parsnips...lol...something like a small bunch for almost 5 Euros...and over here they are so dirtcheap...lol...
It would surprise me if there wasn't a organic box scheme !

Toot...in Germany Kids are at 8am at school.

psw...lovely outfit for the 80's do

TB (Hm...tollockyBoss is not to good shortened, I think).....I was rather confuzzled too!

Well....had that Dinner left over as I said and also lots and lots of chocolate brownie dessert....hm....

TooTicky · 09/09/2007 20:52

Bless you 100x, it was a very lighthearted . I now feel contrite. It was bravado with just the merest hint of huffiness after the teasing. See, this is about as brave as I get - ever - a small between friends. You are still my friend, aren't you? And probably PMT.
Oh, and the fact that my favouritist band in all of forever is playing tonight not far from here and I am not there and have never, in about 18 years of fanhood, been to one of their concerts. WHAT'S MORE, I had to take the booking for the community bus which is taking some people there and when they collected the key they didn't say, "By the way, there is a spare ticket so would you like to come along? Of course you can bring your delightful toddler."
Moan over.

Made the mildest thing that could possibly be described as a curry and the dcs ate it Am desperate to add some mulit-cultural variety to our meals.

Boco · 09/09/2007 20:56

Who are your favourite band Toots?

Boco · 09/09/2007 20:56

I like saying Toots. It makes me feel like i should have a cigar and a new yoik drawl.

TooTicky · 09/09/2007 20:57

UB40

3andnomore · 09/09/2007 20:57

I really like UB40 too

TooTicky · 09/09/2007 20:59
Smile
Boco · 09/09/2007 21:01

Poor you. For missing it - not for liking UB40. Would it help if we all sang red red wine to you?

TooTicky · 09/09/2007 21:05

BBBee, I have just noticed that you are shamed. Don't be. I, on the other hand, have ed 100x and I don't know if she will be able to forgive me.

TooTicky · 09/09/2007 21:06

Yes, sing to me.

3andnomore · 09/09/2007 21:08

lol...funny you should mention that...but ever since the mention of UB40...the red, red wine tune is going in my head...lol!

FrannyandZooey · 09/09/2007 21:14

My friend used to be a roadie for UB40

I am PMSL at how the thread now reads with BBB's deleted posts. I look like some random surreal potty mouth and I can assure you I am NOT

BBB I am sorry you are having a trying time.

Ernest I don't know, we can try to help? You could add some fresh fruit to your breakfast, I normally pack in at least 3 or 4 portions there. You could also cut up some bits of raw veg to eat with your lunch - just whatever things you like most - carrot and beetroot are very nice IMO and quite nutrient dense. Oh and tomatoes. Then with your dinner you could easily have 3 veg instead of 1. Add another portion of fruit as a snack, and some juice or dried fruit, and you are almost there.

It's a nuisance if the children won't eat it, but you can just add stuff to your diet and of course they may join in once they see you doing this. They haven't really got another model of eating to look at and possibly inspire them to change, if you are eating the same very limited diet as they are.

Don't know what to advise about buying fruit and veg though. That sounds very tricky.

Oh god TooT all forgiven, all round. (But you will notice that both Boco and Franny have pointed out what I pointed out? I was thinking of MrsC you see).

I don't care. None of us care. MN is riled at the moment, we musn't be riled in here.

let's sing.

Boco · 09/09/2007 21:31

Red, red wine
Its up to you All I can do, ive done
But memries wont go
No, memries wont go

I`d have thought
That with time
Thoughts of her
Would leave my head
I was wrong
And I find
Just one thing makes me forget

Red, red wine
Stay close to me
Dont let me be alone Its tearin` apart
My blue, blue heart

Boco · 09/09/2007 21:33

I think those 's can be tricky little things. A bit like saying 'whatever' - but not always meant like that.

ahundredtimes · 09/09/2007 21:33
MrsCuntingMango · 09/09/2007 21:33

Oh dearest BBBee - I can assure you I laughed and laughed at the posts when I read them this morning, in fact ds1 asked what what so funny, of course I had to say 'nothing' in that irritating way and he scowled at me.

Not sure I can go under this name outside the confines of 10/10 though, people might throw rotten fruit at me or something.

Hello Ernest! This is not my usual name.

I have been out most of today, we had a lovely long walk this afternoon and this morning there was a farmers market. I've had peach, kiwi, pears and raspberries for breakfast, salad for lunch and lamb for dinner, mashed cannelini beans with parsley garlic lemon and olive oil, mizuna leaves and sun dried tomatoes. I wouldn't normally bother mentioning the whole of dinner here but it was such a delicious combination I must recommend it.

I have realised there isn't a day goes by when I don't have a glass of wine with dinner, then maybe another one, and then chocolate. From today I am going to try to avoid it except for Friday fizz. It was hard. I may need support.

MrsCuntingMango · 09/09/2007 21:37

Oh, we are doing songs, um...

'der's a rat in da kitchen, what am I gonna do, there's a rat in ma kitchen, what am I gonna do, I'm gonna teach that rat, that what's I'm gonna do, gonna teach dat rat....'

3andnomore · 09/09/2007 21:39

lolololololol....MCM...daren't write that one out...lol....so, you are Mrs. C usually right...amd is TollockyBoss FMV...or am I on the wrong track entirely....

FrannyandZooey · 09/09/2007 21:39

hee hee! That is beautiful MrsC

I wish I could remember what the last thing BBB said was, just before we went to bed, when I said

I can't remember it at all but it was very funny

3andnomore · 09/09/2007 21:40

nonono...just UB40songs, please, for Toot, as she misses their concert, and is a great fan

MrsCuntingMango · 09/09/2007 21:41

I think it was along the lines of 'I think MrsC should change her name to MrsCuntingMango, or actually we could just call her cunt', or something like that
