he was in a lot of pain yesterday which has not improved today. he is much more confused so it is difficult to find out what is going on. his sight is much worse too and he is quite wobbly.
The doctor phoned the hospital and talked to them about it. the doc has given him a morphine injection and he is to go back on the steriods, which he has just been weaned off. the doctor will phone in the morning to see how he is. he is tucked up in bed now.

This is great (this is me, MB, btw)

onlyjoking9329 · 11/09/2007 22:31

thanks again for your kind wishes, Steve has been like the old steve today, which was lovely cos i was really missing him, brain tumours are horrid cos they change the person so much, this is the nearest to the real steve that i have seen for months, the sad thing is that i don't know how long i will have my husband for as most of the time he is like a different person.

I know OJ but it's so werid as you think that's it and they have changed for good then you have a really good day like yesterday and you don't know where you stand. It's odd as there doesn't seem to be any natural progression with that type of tumour right until the end. Each day can be very different with good days and bad and lot's in between.
It's such a rough ride but you take thanks in every positive day you get. Hope today is another one

Stve decided he would go to the shop today on his own, he hasn't been able to do this since June, partly cos he gets lost/confused and comes out of the shop and cant remember where he is.
i was very nervous but acted cool. he went and returned with milk and some lovely flowers for me

OJ I haven't posted on here before but I wanted you to know your lovely news really warmed me - so glad Steve had a better day - how lovely that he brought you flowers - the 'old Steve' IS still there - just wanted to give you a hug.

onlyjoking9329 · 12/09/2007 19:57

He is a sweetie, even when he couldn't walk he got his mum to take him to the jewwllers to buy me an eternity ring for our wedding anniversary

yeh, he'd not too bad, we are seeing the macmillan nurse tomorrow to talk about pain relief, his 25 microgram fentanyl patch isn't cutting it

Our mate shave got me lightly pissed tonight as am a bit stressed. PMT on top of this lot isn't good. Steve sounds a real sweet heart!

in spite of it all we've been lucky enough to get two gems.

onlyjoking9329 · 12/09/2007 20:07

Hope they get the pain relief right for your DH.
pissed is good, and i should know
i have been i to help with resources at kids school today i haven't been for ages, it was lovely to see everyone and just chat about "normal" stuff.
yes we do both have gems.

onlyjoking9329 · 12/09/2007 21:27

Popping my head round the door to say Hi OJ. Hope you have a good weekend.

onlyjoking9329 · 15/09/2007 20:35

i am glad we had some good days as today has been awful, today we have had denial anger and confusion big time. this is just so hard steve is saying he may as well be dead as he is feeling so down and he doesn't think the treatment will help him.

OP posts:
Blandmum · 15/09/2007 20:37

Sending you much love and hugs. Hold onto the memories of the good days, sweetheart.

onlyjoking9329 · 15/09/2007 20:49

i do treasure the good days and it is daft but when we have a day day i think that we won't get anymore good days.
steves brother has told myself and steve all about his neighbours mate who had exactly the same as steve 7 years ago and is now in remission when i asked what sort of tumour and what grade, was it a GBM4 he said he didn't know what type or grade he had. so how the fuck is that exactly the same
