For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We are all fine after yesterday's A&E trip. Only thing was that DS and DD went to bed about two hours later than normal and so were very tired this evening (and went to sleep slightly ear;lier than normal).

Boco · 30/08/2007 21:35

BBBee you've got it - but without the spangles conversation. They were probably talking about postmodernism or something twanky. He did fine art and he went round with these boys with floppy hair and tight cords and small leather jackets and navy polo necks. I didn't usually know what they were talking about. Dp does the mouth think when thinking seriously about something. As does dd2.

zippitippitoes · 30/08/2007 21:38

I shall hide here and eat my dinner ...thank you boco

BBBee · 30/08/2007 21:40

I like those kind of boys.

Tatties · 30/08/2007 21:40

Glad all is well now Idris I don't recognise that picture at all!

BBB I think it's good messing around with ingredients. I followed the recipe exactly and it was nice but felt it was missing something.

Also eaten 2 clementines.

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 21:42

Oh I don't like this not having been around business

I don't know what anyone is talking about and I feel like the old lady in the corner trying to keep up, while all the youngsters nod emcouragingly because she is a game old bird and then talk amongst themselves

franny I am having one of those life turning rapidly into a film script moments

so tell me something nice and grounded like the best fruits to make into cakes or something

FrayedKnot · 30/08/2007 21:44

Thought I recognised you, Idris

Tatties · 30/08/2007 21:48

Franny I feel like that all the time, I can't keep up

womblingalong · 30/08/2007 21:48

Hello!

Franny! you're back, hurrah! Hope you had a great time with HC.

I do eat meat, and love it, but again only good meat, and don't eat everyday.

BBBeee/Possum - I just love fresh coriander, the packets they sell in supermarets are a bit crap no? They are just not big enough, and they chop off the roots too, which are often the best bits for thai/indian food esp.

FMV - hoorah for winning the competition! I am so excited for you, think the madonna suggestion is a great idea, you'll have a ball!

Boco, w/end away sounds good, London too am most . DH & I are off to Dublin for one night next week, was my birthday present, am v nervous about leaving baby & DD, as have not both left them before, hope he settles for PIL's

Had V shit day, baby just won't stop crying, and slept for a total of 10 minutes today .

Have had raisins, blueberries, nectarine, banana, tomato, spinach, courgette, mushroom, onion, apple so 10/10 (just)

BBBee · 30/08/2007 21:48

oh no franny don't say that! No-one can ever understand what I am talking about anyway!

I have been badgering people about their meet up stories and am intrigued by yours. Seems both romantic and techincal.

Why did you start 10/10?

When did you start it?

Does MN and 10/10 change a lot or does it kind of go in waves?

Has there ever been a big 10/10 bust up?

Has it changed your eating habits or have you aways been serene?

How are we doing superfoods?

FrayedKnot · 30/08/2007 21:53

I just post random mutterings as by the time I have typed my post usually the subject has changed about 8 times.

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 21:54

LOL which meet up story was romantic and technical?

Zippi are you alright? When I am feeling like things are a little bit shaky IMO the internet is not a great place to be This internet flirting business is a freaky thing, you know? Take care of your head.

Idris, that's exactly how I imagine you, but mauve, a really lovely gentle shade of mauve.

IdrisTheDragon · 30/08/2007 21:59

I do like this thread . Even if I still feel quite imposter-like .

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 22:00

Why did you start 10/10?

erm can't remember. I was bored, I think? I eat a lot of fruit and I am an attention seeker. This seemed like a good way to reconcile these two activities

When did you start it?

Ooh I dunno. A year to 18 months ago?

Does MN and 10/10 change a lot or does it kind of go in waves?

Yes it changes a lot, in waves However as it gets bigger the part you are in at any one time could be completely different to the parts that other people are frequenting. I think the shared MN experiences are less seldom these days. I still miss my mates, as well You lot are lovely but I miss Greeny and HC being around all the time. I really do. I am pining for them, tonight

Has there ever been a big 10/10 bust up?

Yes but if I told you about it I would have to kill you

Has it changed your eating habits or have you aways been serene?

"Serene"???

How are we doing superfoods?

I don't know...oh dear I am crap leader this week. Let me think about it. Suggestions please. Amd THREAD TITLES

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 30/08/2007 22:02

I'm fine...just leave him till tomorrow i think

I've left my nectarine downstairs

who makes something nice like pineapple upside down cake

Boco · 30/08/2007 22:04

How about that for a title. 'i've left my nectarine downstairs'.

womblingalong · 30/08/2007 22:05

Zippi,

I have been baking queen last week, made VSC, Birthday cake, iced fairy cakes, butter biscuits, lemon syrup loaf cake, crazy wacky choc cake. (Was DD's birthday)

Agree with BBBee, you need to get nice shoes/skirt for date.

BBBee · 30/08/2007 22:05

so when it was small everyone was more or less on the same threads and you all kind of knew what each other were doing? That sounds nice. More often than not I am posting on threads where I do not recognise any names at all. I love it when I see other 10/10ers on other threads - all conspiratorial.

I do find you serene and quite wafty and calming. Do you want a book call the continum concept about attatchemnt parenting? am getting rid - is yours for free but don't feel obliged.

Tatties · 30/08/2007 22:06

Franny - FMV's suggestion:

How about ''All fruit bright and beautiful, all peaches great and small'' for a thread title? Or all beans bright and beautiful.

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 22:07

No thanks BBB I don't like that book

I am not serene at all but thanks for the thought

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 22:13

Nectarines!

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 22:14

No more hymns, no more hymns

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 22:17

oh gosh I have no idea at all

you'll have to sort it out amongst yourselves
