For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

F&Z without you this thread is a pea-less pod

ahundredtimes · 30/08/2007 19:39

Oh, and hurrah Franny, pleased you are back.

I'm due a badge. I'm due at least 5 minutes in that tent of yours because I scored my first 10/10 while you were away. And I've been doing links where you write the words. It's been a big week for me.

FrayedKnot · 30/08/2007 19:43

Evening

Dried fruit mix
Grapes
An apple
More grapes
A nectarine
Big helping of lentil, courgette & aubergine moussaka

I have also been eating lots of hoummous this week - do pulses count, or not?

I am feeling a bit tired today, not sure why, have been quite busy and emotionally rather hyper about having the garden done.

I need to conserve engery as I am going out for a curry tomorrow night and I am organizing the whole thign and need to corral (sp?) 18 people (mostly men) from pub to restaurant on time

Boco not sure I can help, we've only stayed in London once in the last few years and I can;t remember the name of the hotel.

It was right next to the British Museum. Bed was 6", that's about all I can remember

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 19:43

I would go for proximity but then I am a little lazy and self indulgent. When was the last time you had time to yourself again? Didn't you say holidays had gone wrong so far? When are you likely to go again?

Open your wallet, Boco, and have fun!

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 19:46

Everyone is pleased you are back, Franny, but we soldiered on

FMV and I had a scrap. You have to decide peaches or nectarines

pinkspottywellies · 30/08/2007 19:48

I've been off for 2 days and I've missed loads! And since I switched on earlier I've caught up on loads but when I refreshed there are 50 more posts. I can't keep up!!

And I've just had fish, chips and mushy peas

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 19:56

Yum, I love mushy peas, it's only round ones I don't like.

I forgot about food, dinner was sausage lentils with rainbow chard, onions, courgettes, tomatoes, more cucumber and black grapes and perry.

FrayedKnot · 30/08/2007 19:59

Franny you sound like you have a chip hangover.

Agree that without you this thread would be like a banana without the insidey banana bit.

Now, about my badge

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:04

Reread my post and realised it sounded like me and dp booked the Grange hotel for £20 a night - I meant me and Greeny always book in advance and get the cheap Travelodge rooms.

The Holborn Grange is kind of fab in a cheesy big hotel way. It has a pool and a sushi bar on site. The best deals are the ones with the buffet breakfasts included, if you can get one of those GO FOR IT

it is one of those epic breakfasts with tables piled high with pastries, and Roman excess style fruit bowls

we once stayed there on a cheap deal and got breakfast included, plus they upgraded us to an executive suite when we got there as the hotel was quiet

they have ice machines in the corridors

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:08

and Boco we used to use \link{http://www.hotel-assist.com/this site} to get cheap deals

100 I may have to demand documentary evidence of this alleged achievement. Did anyone see you do it?

FK pulses do count

and thank you all for the kind words but I saw you and you were having a whale of a time

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:09

grr my link is dodgy

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 30/08/2007 20:09

I've just used www.londonnights.com to book a few days away. It's £60 a night but the rooms have fridges and microwaves and cutlery so we can eat in - saving money and not having to drag dd around at night!

We're going to do touristy things like the London Eye and the Tower of London. I can't wait to see the sparkly jewellery!!

BBBee · 30/08/2007 20:14

franny - we do miss you - we say so, it seems to lack heart and people mutter things about houmus and thread titles but no-ones answers. Remember how cross we got with you when you wnet to that other site?

Now my inset bite is all swollen so I have taken loads of pirtion and now I keep falling asleep.

Also (Avi)have been doing a thing of putting some decaff into the thing with the caff and preentding not to pay attention and so far is going well.

Bought more fruit today and make a guiness and chocolate cake - so very yin and yan down my way.

Boco - sorry I am crap at things like weekends away - I either spend barely nothing like a miser or blow a grand. I can't do budgets and I can't really help. All those link ones look lovely though. I hope you have a really wondrful time.

Oh franny I wasn't going to ask anythign embarassing just annoying - like about 10.10 starting and mumsnet in days of yore and stuff. Just me expelling brain waves really.

God this piriton is head mugging.

Whoever had their lunch in starbucks is a darling and whoever had thier appraisal I hope it was wonderful anfd you shut up about the raisin thing (ah - it was idris)

I made the male people in my house lamb chops and dd and me had vegeatble geills, mashed potato, green beans and onion sauce. We then ate lots of the cake warm with ben and jerrys vanilla ice cream.

Have had lotrs of plums - am really enjoying them and then I had one that tated a bit tomoaty and I am all put off.

ramblle....ramblr....rmable...ramble...relax

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 20:15

sparkly jewellery, PSW?

why I lOVE sparkly jewellery....

You must go to the london museum and see the cheapside hoard. OMG I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I saw that. Luckily I was on my own and stayed for half an hour in front of it. It made me dizzy, and I could practically feel the breath of Robert Dudley on my lace collar.

BBBee · 30/08/2007 20:18

100 - you didn't have your card - you silly goose.

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 20:18

Yes, Bbbbe, you are rambling, SOME of us actually had quite good thread title ideas, not 'houmous and stuff'

BBBee · 30/08/2007 20:21

I backed you on the nectarine thin g- I think you will find I was the only one who did

but i want it to be surreal like "is this a necatrine I see before me" or you know starbuck came on here saying that this thread title really annoys her and she hates it being in active convos we could call it "Nectarines galore and not a starbuck in sight".

Or "Guadalupe's quest"

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:23

BBB ask away but you will have to be a bit more specific

someone asked if HC and I met on a MN meetup - nah, we bonded over a vulva thread on here and I used to send her very long intense emails and then we would talk on the phone. And we arranged to meet in London together (plus Greeny also) and had a lovely lovely time. She is just super and her dds are fab and we are missing them. But LOL at me earlier saying "I am a big tired". Was a typo but you know, I am a big tired.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:26

Avi I wanted people crying, and tearing their clothes and so on

What is this nectarine tiff? it went over my head as I speed read the thread

We'll need a new thread tomorrow I reckon, to be sure of making it through the day

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 20:26

BBBee yes indeed you did!

I will bow, this is the done thing, no?

You have to say the necatarine one in the tune of the song for it to work. Have you got that in your head, 99 red ballons?

Guadalupe · 30/08/2007 20:28

Balloons!

Floating in the Summer sky, ninety nine nectarines go by...

writes it again quickly while franny is thinking of thread titles before FMV gets here

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:28

Come on come on chat to me [needy]

I feel lonely and I have missed you all

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2007 20:30
