For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Well, obviously it was never proven to be the river, iirc we all paddled in it and one girl was taken ill that night, rash & temp, fine after a day or two. Could have been a complete coincidence, of course. My Mum (who had taken us all including this child who was the daughter of a friend) was riddled with guilt for years. there was a spate of similar odd skin rashes reported locally after children had been swimming, and so we never went in the river again.

It sounds, though, as if maybe she was already feeling a bit funny if she didn;t go in the river as much as the others and quiet?

Good luck for tonight.

Franny Dh has also been very actively involved with DS today and by his own admission, is b*ggered.

Tatties · 27/08/2007 22:17

Oh 100x how awful Hope you can get some sleep and that dd has improved by morning

Boco · 27/08/2007 22:18

Tatties · 27/08/2007 22:19

Franny the cooking guide is EXCELLENT and I shall email now to tell you so

TooTicky · 27/08/2007 22:19

Mangoes are superfoods aren't they? And butternut squash? Perhaps people could just score superfood points or something/ Or boast a bit more.

Thanks FK Feel a bit better now.

FrannyandZooey · 27/08/2007 22:26

BBB yes there are kidney beans - there doesn't have to be - it's just suggestions, to show how you could do it

you need lots of large yogurt and ice cream tubs

thank you Tatties, no need to email

OP posts:
BBBee · 27/08/2007 22:27

really good idea though - mine rarely turn up their nose at something on a pizza and they are on the super ood list too.

Tatties · 27/08/2007 22:31

I really like nuts. I would definitely score extra points for nuts

womblingalong · 27/08/2007 22:40

Oh 100x

Hope she perks up, and your fears are unfounded. Good sign that she seems brighter since the meds.

Am most envious of beautiful montessori nursery LL, sounds wonderful.

Can't believe you had a menage a dix when some of us weren't looking, how do you find the energy?

Franny thanks for the bulk cooking info, sounds like a really good idea esp for when I go back to work, and I could easily adapt for my recipes.

BBBee - hope you don't think i'm being cheeky, but have you still got fairy dressing up stuff to get rid of? I am trying to build up DD's dressing up box, and it sounds like it could be just the job. Can I cat you?

FrayedKnot - I know what you mean about instincts with DD I was focused on getting her sleeping through, playing alone etc asap, with DS I am much more relaxed and feel very at how I handled it.

For 10/10 i have had strawberries, grapes, carrots, broccoli, chickpeas, onions, OJ, nectarine and lots of cake - left over urple birthday monstrosity.

Exercise - 20 mins trampolining on DD's new toy

Tatties · 27/08/2007 22:43

Oh yes I missed the menage-a-dix too

BBBee · 27/08/2007 22:48

wombling - of course you can - not cheeky at all. can't CAT but email me on dimpl edthigh s (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk

tatties 0 I made the curry it was realy nice - I put lots of other stuff in being all creative and think I should have not fiddled so much but it still tasted good - just could have been better.

BBBee · 27/08/2007 22:49

womb;e - how old is your DD and do you object to disnay princess or barbie stuff?

womblingalong · 27/08/2007 22:55

urple - what's this? I meant purple not some weird non colour

BBBee, Thanks, will email you. I am not esp keen on Disney/Barbie, but DD's are aren't they, and if she (DD) can't do pink girly stuff now when can she?

I use a stove top coffee maker with ground esprsso coffee - usually illy or lavazza.

How can you not know what nescafe is? Am guessing you live abroad?

What are you studying?

Hope 100 DD is okay.

FrannyandZooey · 28/08/2007 08:26

100 how is she? and how are you? I hope everything has settled down.

Well look shall we do this superfoods thing next week? That gives everyone time to buy stuff and we can have a new name for the thread and everything. And make up some arbitrary rules. If you want to be competitive it can be the grand total of superfoods at the end of the week (it is not going to be me winning this time). Or we can just set a goal for each day, or another idea?

Watch this space for meet up news (well watch your inbox). Coming v soon I promise.

Yes I put kidney beans on pizzas. Is this completely odd? I just put them in the sauce, they taste good. LOL at all the polite emails last night about the Document. You don't have to use my recipes you know, they are just examples to show you how it works. I don't expect you all to be cooking kidney bean pizzas every 3rd Monday

Avi, yes apparently I do. And what of it?

FrannyandZooey · 28/08/2007 08:27

Oh, all my nectarines went rotten. Except one which I ate and didn't share, last night. Also had an apple.

This morning, had 2 apples, raisins, and 3 kiwis. Must go fruit shopping.

FrannyandZooey · 28/08/2007 08:28

ps nuts are JUST FOR SUPERFOOD WEEK

you can't include them on your normal 10, we have fought this battle already and I still have the scars from Greeny's nails to prove it.

do you use a stove top coffee maker?

I hate instant - I take my own coffee to meetings now incase it is instant.

zippitippitoes · 28/08/2007 10:12

I am like avi

I actually never eat fruit or veg I just eat burgers and chips and coke but call them nectarines and bananas

BBBee · 28/08/2007 10:12

fz have emailed you with meet up angst.

ahundredtimes · 28/08/2007 10:14

All well. No more weird rash, infact new one on arm gone down. So I think standard issue viral thing with appallingly high temp and tonsils. Nothing worse. God I was neurotic wasn't I? Sorry about that. I think Doctors should be trained to say 'She has tonsilitis and the rash is irrelevant. Go home and give Calpol.'

Phew.

Superfoods - they're all a bit normal aren't they? I want some Spinula and things. I want some funny ones too please.
Yes a competition - but I shall cheat. I want this to known from the start.

zippitippitoes · 28/08/2007 10:16

glad dd is recovering...it is so alarming not knowing whether it is alarming or not

I am just vbeing brave about meet ups

I am looking forward to it

I am not frightening in rl
