For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

filthymindedvixen · 21/08/2007 15:03

what??? What was that Lionheart?

lionheart · 21/08/2007 15:03

Oh, yes. Does the 10/10 meet up involve anything tenty, I wonder? It might be an omen.

lionheart · 21/08/2007 15:04

Someone said they had a dream involving a tent or camp-fire, some felt bowls and the 10/10ers.

TooTicky · 21/08/2007 15:05

Wouldn't Franny be worried about, erm, loofahs?

filthymindedvixen · 21/08/2007 15:05

rofl. were we force-feeding them mung beans?

lionheart · 21/08/2007 15:07

It was probably like a scene from The Wicker Man, but fluffier.

Oh, yes, loofahs.

filthymindedvixen · 21/08/2007 15:09

TooTicky · 21/08/2007 15:23

Oh LL. lovely to see you (if briefly). Hope they sort you out soon! (or come and talk to me about homoeopathy )

lionheart · 21/08/2007 15:28

Hello, LL, hope you get some answers soon.

Boco · 21/08/2007 17:14

Good luck LL, hope you get some answers very soon.

I've been swimming. I find the changing afterwards is the hardest - with 2 small children, who are all cold and wet, and the whole wet sock thing, exhausting. Feel nicely stretched though, but the actual swimming bit.

Had tomato and aubergine and mushroom and courgette and an orange.

I've got toothache.

Supposed to be camping next week and i can't face the thought of it in this miserable weather - so i thought maybe i could find something totally lastminute and practically free on the internet somewhere warm , but actually, it's all still too much. Owwww, i want to go to a sunny beach!

pinkspottywellies · 21/08/2007 18:27

Toot - Westbury and not in the slightest bit sunny! We went to Brockershill (?something like that) country park on Friday and my sister and I (27 and 28) went on all the play equipment while dd(9m) looked bemused in her buggy!
Haven't been shopping yet but managed to unearth a banana, cucumber, a cherry tomato and just cooking peas and green beans for tea.
That browser box is a very expensive magazine rack

pinkspottywellies · 21/08/2007 18:51

I forgot I also had olives and 6 cloves of garlic today.

FrannyandZooey · 21/08/2007 19:11

I have had lettuce, red pepper, cucumber, tomato, avocado, hummus, and kidney beans

probably (3.5)

I may go to the gym and go on the bike for half an hour. Repeat may.

Also forgot about stewed plums (from mum's tree - yummy!) and now having orange juice and a pear. Most of mine are fruit. Must work on veg, Sir

Anyone got any mega veg intake tips?

pinkspottywellies · 21/08/2007 19:19

I've almost got the PS2 set up for my exercise dvd's but dh just needs one more lead to finish it. Will start soon.

Greensleeves · 21/08/2007 19:47

Evening

I have just had a really hot curry containing marrow, squash, courgette, red lentils, tomatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, spring onions, red kidney beans, spinach and potato.

An orange and 5 strawberries for after. And an apple picked from the tree at the allotment earlier, likewise a couple of plums and some blackberries.

And I am still bloody hungry!

sugarfree · 21/08/2007 19:50
Greensleeves · 21/08/2007 19:51

forgot, also cucumber and celery at lunch

sugarfree · 21/08/2007 19:54

She definitely ate potatoes, tomatoes and apples though.
(thats if wedges, salsa and cider count?)

TooTicky · 21/08/2007 20:05

Brokerswood PSW. Ds1 had a birthday party there once. Did you go on the little train?
Did you go up to the white horse? Last time we went, dd1, ds1 and ds2 ran around on the horse. Dd2 and I sat in the wind and stopped them tumbling right down the hill using just our willpower.

Have just had veg stew and dumplings (onion, beans, carrot, potato, garlic, courgette and peas) and there is a pear and ginger cake in the oven

FrannyandZooey · 21/08/2007 20:13

I have a ruddy awful headache

am going to the gym and if it isn't gone when I get back I am going to sulk

perhaps we should have done bootcamp on a week when I am not having an existential crisis?
