Yay Filly! Yay! Filly! Yay!!!
(was that a good enough welcome back?)
I am horizontal and may have to remain so for the near future. Left house about 10.15. Cycled 4 miles with whopping child in trailer. Played at playground for 1 hour. Cycled another mile. Had lunch. Went for walk in woods for 1.5 hours. Played in different playground for 1 hour. Cycled 3 miles. Went to supermarket. Did shopping. Cycled 1.5 miles with whopping child and trailer stuffed with shopping. Fed child. Put shopping away. Put washing away. Hung up washing. Tidied up. Fell over.
Dolly do you live in Brixton? What were you up to there today?
About the trailer: We got it from eBay for £50 I think. The hitch broke very soon after we got it so we had to spend a bit more getting a new hitch, but this one is much better. I would definitely recommend the proper hitch (axel hitch) which bolts to the frame not the silly clamp on one (chainstay hitch).
I am nervous about it on the roads, yes. I am nervous on my bike on the roads full stop, though - they are full of bloody cars and I don't understand the highway code anyway [non-driver]. It is great on cycle paths, which is mostly where I want to go, and where the road gets dodgy I go on the pavement if necessary . We had a seat for ds when he was younger but it makes the bike a bit wobblier which I am not fond of. The trailer makes it more stable as you are riding, but of course there is the freak squashing problem. Really depends what the roads are like where you want to go, I suppose.
I think it starts from about age 1. Ds is 4 and not quite ready for a tagalong, so we bought this as an interim measure. They seem to have good second-hand resale value. Ds loves it and you can also fit quite a lot of shopping / kit in it.
Will do banana cake recipe and link to photos in a bit.
Boco and BBB glad you had a good time!
Zippi your toes look great (god I am bossy about names)

Thinking about Lullaby and hoping she is ok.
