For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

pinkspottywellies · 06/08/2007 22:34

Btw, I've had my oj, I'm eating an apple and did I understand right that we have a sausage roll a day this week? I've sent dh out specially

lionheart · 06/08/2007 22:35

Have had apples, nectarines, beans, bananas, grapes (all plurals).

fillyjonk · 07/08/2007 08:23

here is what i am going to do re trailer

am going to go to local bike trail/hire place at some point and hire the whole kit. I think it works out about £40 for a day. And then I will see.

Problem is, I won't use it on the main roads, tbh. To get to anywhere green round here you need to go on a dual carriageway. So might as well just hire one.

or a trike

fillyjonk · 07/08/2007 08:26

avi re the kitchen, we have a super posh children's play space/ cafe (organic food, decent coffee, SUNLIGHT) near us and they have one of those

it does last

otoh it is in many ways indistinguishable from one costing a lot less...

FrannyandZooey · 07/08/2007 08:45

Morning

I found some peaches that are actually ripe and not rock hard or mouldy HALLELUJAH. They were Tesco's finest reduced to 50p because they were actually ripe and ready to eat so obviously needed getting rid of

Am eating 2 with some grapes, blueberries and raisins. My bowl is rather full.

Forgot to say yesterday had peach, apple, big bowl of veg stew with rice.

Avi I lost track of the conversation but if you want to borrow the woods book after me I will send it on to you. I am not sure if that is the one you were talking about or not.

Ooh and Tatties, Shuffle turned up - FAB. I couldn't see the little birds with the diamante eye on the buckle before! So nice. Just a tiny bit tight on my flat old feet

Filly trailer hire sounds a good plan. However bear in mind we bought ours all in for £50. And you can only fit 2 (smallish) kids in it.

MrsCarrot · 07/08/2007 09:15

I am borrowing that woods book today from a friend who has every book you could want on that kind of thing! We went out for dinner last night. Had sweetcorn fritter things, tomato salad, guacomole and oatcakes, aubergine stuffed things, beetroot and leaf salad with raspberry dressing and choc pot with raspberries, big bottle of Prosecco. Yum!

In a charity shop yesterday, Dd said, can I have this barbie (wearing nothing but knickers and earrings ), I said no, look at this book. 'I reaaallly want this barbie more than anythiing in thie world, whine whine'. Me, triumphantly holding up a battered copy of big house in the little woods, look, we will read this together instead. There is maple syrup and venision smoking and the little girls are pleased with an orange and bell in their stocking. Today we are buying a book. Cue asking for lots of other things and me being adamant we are only buying books.

As we left DS notice a little tipi set in the window, quite sweet, only 2.99, so annoying as I felt we couldn't get it after I had been so insistent on no toys. However, we passed there on the way to dinner and I showed my friend and she said, how wonderful it's made of silver birch, 3 tipis and 2 canoes, if you don't want it I'll have it.I have thought about that set all night. I have dreamed about it. The playmobil men already have little playdough headresses and tiny feathers in my mind. I must have it. I have phoned the chairy shop this morning to beg them to keep it for me ina slightly hysterical manner. I will post a photo when I get it.

Mrs C it is terrible to covet things. Much sympathy.

FrannyandZooey · 07/08/2007 12:21

Zippi sorry to hear that. If it is not too personal to ask, do you take any medication at the moment or do you manage it yourself? (you are bipolar, aren't you? I haven't just made this up?) How are you feeling? Did you get yourself going or are you still stuck?

MrsC the set sounds just WONDERFUL. I am LOL at you being all firm and then phoning them in a panic

Have had some salad bits with lunch. Taking ds to a gym class thing and then to a friend's for tea.

Oh MrsC can you tell us more about Big House in the Little Woods? I don't know anything about it.

i offered them round the office.....funny onely one taker then she said ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - well i think they are lovely

FrannyandZooey · 07/08/2007 12:34

Hi Custy, always welcome

Wiki says they are rich in vit C. They are not my favourite.

Avi was that the full price with the varnish on and all the bits and bobs? Cause if so I think they must have put the price down. I really can't recommend it highly enough, either way. The jumbo one is marvellous as several children can play on it at once - it was our best toddler toy for when friends came round, and even has cachet with Older Boys who usually think our house is embarrassingly weapon free.

no I don't take anything..

it is much better having just self knowledge/management (ahem) and will power, stubbornness and healthy lifestyle haha

I am feeling somewhat volatile at the moment though, but then anyone would so it is a bit hard to judge..well it always is to be honest

can't remember what the question was now!

I am stressed out over this house building lark too..and going to college next month I hoped it would be finished by then

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2007 12:37

I used to sell haba stuff but although people like it, it was too expensive

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2007 12:39

f&Z was that an attempt to bring drugs into the thread?

Tortington · 07/08/2007 12:43
