For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

He must have a freat brain too. Chess is so darn complicated - unless you play it in a happy-go-lucky, not worrying about consequences way, like I do...

ahundredtimes · 12/08/2007 00:14

Now the thing is TT he does that too. In his spectacles.

And hangs upside down off the furniture and talks a lot.

ahundredtimes · 12/08/2007 00:16

Yes, chess IS complicated. DS1 is teaching it to me, most of the time he's very gallant about it but sometimes its annoying because he says 'are you sure you want to do that? Because in 5 moves, I can do this and this.'

Oh grrrrr.

I'll play chess with you though if you like. I just say, 'Oh I thought the rook might like to go there for a bit' otherwise it makes my head hurt.

I don't think anyone knows about homeopathy, 100, that's the funny thing about it.

I am not an extended feeder either, DD was 13 months, ds1 only 7 months, and, although I hate dh smoking every night (weed) in the garden, when I am not pregnant/feeding I occasionly have a rebellious puff on a roll up in the pub though those times have changed now I guess, more of a concious effort to go outside.

TooTicky · 12/08/2007 00:18

100x, he sounds delightful

ahundredtimes · 12/08/2007 00:18

Ok, so I can stay now.

MrsCarrot · 12/08/2007 00:18

I can spell in rl. I won a prize for spelling .once

TooTicky · 12/08/2007 00:19

I am learning about homoeopathy, but the more you learn, the more you realise you don't know, and it is used completely wrongly most of the time. It is fascinating and compellingly effective.

MrsCarrot · 12/08/2007 00:20

yes, please do stay, though you only seem to foray on to the thread after 11pm?

MrsCarrot · 12/08/2007 00:21

I think it's very interesting, Toot, but when I think about it I can't believe it. So I don't think about it and it works, mostly.

ahundredtimes · 12/08/2007 00:23

I've not been on MN much recently, so I'm just dropping in here before I go to bed. I like it in here.

Also all the other late night threads are bit wired I find.

Homeopathy - hmmm. DS2 and I have decided that lavender will help him sleep. Is that homeopathy? LOL. I don't even know what counts as homeopathic.

TooTicky · 12/08/2007 00:25

I could give you definition, description and examples if you want 100x but not now as I am too tired to make it make sense.

ahundredtimes · 12/08/2007 00:26

Let's do it in the daytime TT.

Night all.

MrsCarrot · 12/08/2007 00:28

aromatherapy, but close I must go to bed now too, Jaws 3 has become even more ridiculous and dh is home smelling smoky, mostly woodsmoke though. Goodnight

BBBee · 12/08/2007 00:58

ah well - facebook can nob off - I look like a twat in my photo anyway.

I like this thread even though I don't think I quite qualify as smedays I have NO fruit and vegetatbles and I drink amazing amounts of coffee, usually espresso.

I found out on holiday how addicted I was because I bought those drip through things (like they have in the hairdressers) and on the last days I was dripping through three at once and it still wasn't good enough (like when a malboro smoker has a silk cut and does all that ripping the filter of and stuff.)

But fruit wise I am planning to get better.
