For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am trying to eat my bag salad tomatoes salmon nectarine and blackberries but having difficulty because I let an internet man ring me and he is ringing back so can't eat anything because of a) I'm afraid i'll have that bits stuck in my teeth sound on the phone and b)I have totally lost my appetite in adrenaline terror mode

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:07

LOL at bits stuck in teeth sound

what is he like? You know dp and I met on the internet and he moved in after a tawdry telephone / email / chat room affair?

Sounds like you need to chill out, Franny, take on a bit less stuff. Is that possible financially? You don't want to burn out and take weeks to get well like before. Think of all the algae you'll need then!

I am certain August is a time for slothfulness, fruit eating and general basking. I hope you have a relaxing weekend with Greensleeves.

zippitippitoes · 08/08/2007 22:11

oh really? no i don't think I knew that...he seems normal unlike the rest of my rag tag and bobtail weirdo fans

he is 44 and lives rather conveniently in London should he decide that he can make me talk enough to merit meeting me ...

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 22:11

Your dp moved in after an internet chat

Boco · 08/08/2007 22:13

Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, avocado, tomatoes, rocket, rhubarb.

Have a good time in London with Greeny Franny.

Not much happening here, going to see friends tomorrow, friend from Brighton coming for the weekend. Feels like B&B season as we have all weekends filling up with friends - which i love, but sometimes would like to spread it out a bit and spend some time with dp on our own.

HOw's everyone ,sorry not read back very far - how's LL?

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:14

LOLOLOL at relaxing weekend with Greeny

[mild hysteria]

erm it was more than one chat. It was about a hundred chats, night after night after night and nearly crippled us both financially in the days before you got free unlimited internet and phone deals. He came down to visit for the weekend, eventually, then moved in 6 weeks later. Bloody madness

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:15

No news from LL. I hope she is ok.

OP posts:
Boco · 08/08/2007 22:17

Is Greeny the same in real life as she is in cyberspace? Is she just as sharp and funny - i have a friend who reminds me so much of Greensleeves - i love her, but when dp is confronted with her i'm sure a little bit of wee comes out.

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 22:17

Hi Boco, how was the bristol weeding?

I moved in with dh 45 mins after meeting.

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:19

Well, kind of, but not really

she is very sharp and funny of course, but also very shy and sweet and vulnerable

and JANGLY

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:20

MrsC explain

Boco · 08/08/2007 22:21

Bristol weeding? You've developed a peculiar accent. It was lovely actually, and i hate weddings as a rule. Had a really good time - in a lovely place just outside Bristol, got a night without children. Had a good time staying in bristol with friends, then a tense time at inlaws while dp recovered from flu for days.

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 22:22

JANGLY?

Hmm, how do I explain? I was not a lady

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 22:22

wedding, sorry.

Boco · 08/08/2007 22:23

Oh she sounds nice, my friend isn't shy or vulnerable, she's very funny and witty, but most evenings out with her end with her calling some man a cocksucker for some reason. Her birthday party last year ended with her birthday cake being used as a weapon.

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:24

Well I see. Being a lady is so dull I find.

Yes jangly. You will see what I mean, when we have our grand 10 / 10 meeting. Bring ear plugs

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:25

Oh no Greeny is very very lovely and kind and patient and all that. Until you cross her. Then she has your eye out with one of her earrings.

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2007 22:28

MrsC I am not ignoring your advice about chilling out, I am just thinking about it. I don't earn very much compared to dp so the money is not a problem, but I am committed to following these jobs through now until the Autumn at least. I'll just keep my head down for the next few weeks and all should be well. But I really should go to bed earlier

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 08/08/2007 22:34

DH kind of never left after our first date! But crikey MrsC 45 mins?! We keep finding things in common on this thread don't we (other than f&v that is)!

pinkspottywellies · 08/08/2007 22:35

I'd like to meet JANGLY Greeny as well but the 10/10 meet up will probably be too far for me

zippitippitoes · 08/08/2007 22:37

stress over with for this evening...i think he thought i was too much like hard work...god I thought it was too much like hard work...

now i can eat my fruit...but i need chocolate

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 22:41

Yes, PSW, we calculated 45 mins from first speaking in a nightclub to being back at his, but it was right by a taxi rank

Then he met me after work the next day and then I sort of never left. That was 11 years ago now we're married. I didn't normally behave like that so I guess it was uh, romantic

I think you definitely slow down by the autumn, Franny, if you feel that knackered, you'll end up all post virally.
