For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh, I see. I thought it was like plane spotting but with diggers.

He does is so he can read the paper in peace?

lionheart · 06/08/2007 21:36

Unless he secretly enjoys the experience of course ... but about this kitchen. The shiny bits are rather attractive and the alder wood superb.

He may need the woodsy child book.

I was going to suggest you go via the kitchen, avi.

lionheart · 06/08/2007 21:59

Oh, and hello wombling.

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2007 21:59

Hello wombling, and everyone

Avi I do think you should get it if you a) have room b) can afford it c) have hankered for that long and d) (and this is a biggie) actually LIKE playing that sort of footling around kitchens and washing sort of game.

Ds has the top one and it is beautifully made, so adults go "oooh", but children tend to shun it. I discovered too late that I find playing houses quite dull (too much of the real deal around here for my liking really). I think when he gets older he will get more use from it. Or, I think they have good resale value (Franny's constant refrain, especially to dp )

I will tell you what children ruddy ADORE:

the Suffolk Playbox. I got one off eBay which was the most marvellous bargain we have ever had. New I think they cost a little bit more than your kitchen, Avi - however, they are totally wonderful, and completely accessible for very young children, yet older ones still enjoy the imaginative possibilities.

Just thought I'd let you know, while you had your wallet out

Avi, because people would faint clean away, I imagine

I enquired a few years ago and I think the number began with a 6

Gosh I thought that this was a new 10/10 club. 10 "portions" of sex, 10 portions of drugs and I only clicked in to find out what you did with the rock and roll.

After the build up, it was disappointing to discover you're still with the eating lots of vegetables malarky.

LOL QC! It's a long time since I've had 10 portions of sex in a day!

Quattrocento · 06/08/2007 22:31

FARTALOTS

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2007 22:32

Come back when you're not afraid of a bit of fibre, eh?

The sex and drugs are heavily disguised as fruit and vegetables. If you stay longer you will see.
