For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Dukkah is fab spice mix which you dip bread into. Recipe on lullaby's tapas thread.

Slash den thread was some time ago but obviously lives on in people's memories My spare room still looks like crap as well

100 I am sure some people somewhere are doing 10 / 10 but I personally was forced at knifepoint to go and eat a large pizza and chocolate cake for lunch.

Part of the last sentence was a lie, btw.

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 21:03

Is oxford underwater? Shit. Is HC ok? Are you ok BBB?

lionheart · 25/07/2007 21:07

Oh yes Tatties, do.

Trees, trees, trees that are old and need to be hugged.

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 21:08

For me it was at gunpoint after shopping at Waitrose.

lionheart · 25/07/2007 21:31

Oh, as in slash fiction.

Oh. [innocent emoticon]

(Please tell me it has nothing to do with wizardry).

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 22:05

slash fiction is where you get normal characters and write them all sexy - like captain kirk and spock getting it on or am I embararssingly wrong - wher is NCQ when you need her!

Oxford is partially submerged - not my part but bits nearby. I don't know where other oxford netters are - we are fine apart from not being able to walk home from town and the buses all being buggered up but can hardly complain can I.

Greenhouse was kind of okay after I ripped of all the yellowy looking leaves on the tomato plants. Ate about 100 peas straight from their pods on the way home so am feeling smug despite having pancakes for breakfast and most of intake being as far from a vegetabel as is possible.

Tell me some good meals I can do over the next few days - I am SO bored with what I cook.

BocoBeak · 25/07/2007 22:12

BBB when are you camping in Norfolk? We're camping somewhere around holkham i think - in 2 weeks. Off to Bristol first for another wedding.

Can't keep up with this thread today, what's been happening? Anyone had any vegetables at all?

I went for a meeting with a woman who has commissioned me to do the design for her on a game - and she invited me to bring the girls. She had horses and ponies and a huge pond you could swim in! The girls paddled, and her dogs frolicked with them, and the chickens and cats - and they were nuzzled by the big horses! Was great.

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2007 22:17

Woah, just tried to catch up. Very confused but at least I knew what dukkah is - I went on the tapas thread from the homepage!
I've been to my buggy aerobics again today and yesterday cleaned for 3 hours solid which has to count as exercise. I was exhausted! Foodwise (chocolate cake and pizza sound gooooooood) today I had raisins, apple, avocado, nectarine, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, roasted veg including pepper, courgettes, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes. I think there was a piece of walnut in the last brownie which I shared with my friend
I've missed the photos! I always wonder what people look like. MrsC I think I have you down as a bit like Mrs Weasley because of the ginger connection!! Sorry I wonder what people picture me as....

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:20

slash den thread hugely long and nonsensical. Half of you old lags on there anyway.

I don't think anyone has eaten any vegetables, no. Or none that we are prepared to admit to.

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:21

oops sorry some of you have . Well done [hearty]

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2007 22:24

BBB - try Lentil Moussaka. I've posted the recipe.

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:24

BBB have you got stuff in the house you need to use up? Or a clean slate?

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2007 22:27

Franny I just looked at the slash den thread and it was the weekend dd was born! Ah the memories

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:27

At least one of us was doing something useful PSW

BBBBasilisk · 25/07/2007 22:34

I have a clean slate - nothing in the house.

Lentil lasagne is a wonderful start - where is the recipe psw?

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:39

Hmm

my favourite in summer is big salad - baby spinach and other leaves, cucumber, avocados, feta or boiled eggs, new potatoes, grated carrot, chickpeas, sun dried tomatoes and basil is a fab one

or coming into late summer, slice peppers, aubergine, courgette, mushrooms, sweet potatoes into batons, put in baking tray, drizzle with olive oil and a bit balsamic, add a few sun dried tomatoes near the end, roast until starting to caramelise. Serve with grilled tofu and quinoa or bulgar wheat, or in wraps with hummus

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2007 22:40

you only need a splash of oil btw or it will be soggy

Filchymindedvixen · 25/07/2007 22:42

damn you and your deviant diversions. Now I have just spend half an hour reading an old thread when I could have been reading HP...
There's a lot of snogging going on in this one? I wonder of JK Rowling amuses herslef by anonymously writing HP slash stuff?

Oh yes, lotsof fruit, veg soup, red pepper pasta salad etc etc.
