For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MrsC have a LOVELY time

LOLOL at LL's dream

3andnomore, hope your arm gets better

I have daft busy day today, made all the more interesting by fact ds slept in until 8.55 am

have eaten pineapple and peaches but I think we had best draw a veil over the rest of the day as it is going to be whatever I can find to eat quickly.

ahundredtimes · 27/07/2007 10:43

Am away again this w/end - can someone tell Boco I've left her a message on the flapping hands crying thread offering her a pocket life book, I've got going spare? Ta.

Haven't eaten anything for days, except that yellow soup. Am doing very badly. Oh, I did nibble on a little bit of cheese left by Franny - heroic act of compassion - next to the skirting board.

ahundredtimes · 27/07/2007 10:48

Oh and Mrs C have a great time. HOW.

BBBee · 27/07/2007 11:04

have a nice time MrsC hope your throat feels better soon.

TooTicky · 27/07/2007 17:31

100times, why is Franny leaving cheese by your skirting board? What have I missed?

3andnomore, sorry about your arm hope it feels better soon

LL, love the felt bowls! (Oh, I sent you a small wittery sort of email earlier)

Right, there is a chalet by the beach which will be empty for us from Sunday - and we have last minute car problems!! Am hardening myself to renewing railcard and doing the thing by good ol' public transport (as I used to) but my god the journey is complicated and we have bundles of stuff to take. Thankfully no nappies this year though (well done dd2!!)

TooTicky · 27/07/2007 17:32

Ooh, lovely pics 3andnomore

3andnomore · 27/07/2007 18:29

Toot, sounds like a lot of organising there...will be worth it in the end though, won't it

Thanks for your comments on the pics...added a few more, those that I had added on whilest using malfoynomore...so, if you looked at those, then you seen them...

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 18:32

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 18:33

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 20:54

since posting last...wel, about my food anywya...I had a Banana, a peach, a big veggie and prawn stirfry and an apple...

lionheart · 27/07/2007 21:02

Hope you have a good time, Mrs C.

TooT have you solved your transport problem yet?

I don't know how anyone manages to look glam under hospital lights.

Why are people getting cheese?

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 21:03

I think I will do better next week. The thought of planning meals or even making a sandwich this week has made me really oddly panicky. Me and ds have mostly eaten out . No idea why. Just feeling very stressed and busy and probably being a bit peculiar.

Thank god breakfast was not affected or I think I would have got scurvy

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 21:03

100x needed cheese

she just did, ok?

3andnomore · 27/07/2007 21:04

Franny we all got those weeeks....mine has been a weird one, too....hm...I blame it on the Holiday of course

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2007 21:05

yes we on the vegetable thread of oddness do

I am not sure Ordinary People do

3andnomore · 27/07/2007 21:06

there is that of course

lionheart · 27/07/2007 21:12

S'pose.

TooTicky · 27/07/2007 22:49

No, not solved. Nowt wrong with public transport, of course, except that it does rather limit the number of wellies/apples/towels one can take. And we are 7 miles from the nearest sensible train station. And I HATE taxis, compulsively and probably quite irrationally. So the journey would be walk 1 mile, catch bus, catch train, probably have to change, catch bus from hideous main road, change to steam train (yaaayyyyy!!) then walk a mile or so. With 4 dcs and luggage.

BBBee · 28/07/2007 06:42

I want to be sitting is summer meadows having long healthy picnics with lots of lovely summer fruits rather than sitting indoors trying to resist putting the heating on!

Went to a friends house last night and she had this kind of yellow plum tree - lovley sour plums that she sisn't like so they were all just dropping to the floor. I have got two carier bags of them. There is a fab recipe but m friend who knows it is away so:

either:

1 how can I store the plums for 2 weeks or
2 any ideas what to do with them?

seems a shame to waste them.
