For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooT. Thanks. Not sure about the karma, the chickens are still alive, aren't they? The bunny is white again (more or less).

Oh, an apple.

MrsCarrot · 26/07/2007 18:43

Ha! Looks like we'll all be getting the bus to Walberswick, or boat?

Boco - No! I can't believe they chanted, how terribly Lord of the Flies .

I have had Gazpatcho (sp?) and am just cooking all the leftover rubbery veg in a sauce to have with rice. Then I will be eating watermelon.

BocoBeak · 26/07/2007 19:28

They did MrsC, they chanted 'you're shit at driving'. I stalled the car, my evil cow instructor said quietly 'did i tell you to stall, or did i tell you to turn right?' - while the boys chanted over her shoulder. I cried all the way home like a loony.

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 19:30

Oh Boco that's awful.

I had an instructor who used to say 'You are confusing the people behind you' all the time. Eventually i said to him 'WHY do you keep saying that? You are undermining my confidence' and he said 'it's because you keep leaving the indicator on' 'well TELL ME THAT THEN'.

That was our last lesson together.

DollyPopsOut · 26/07/2007 19:41

God these driving instructors sound hellish - they are being paid to be calm, reassuring, confidence building etc not snide and aggressive. Mine used to sit there chewing gum saying "bit close to that cyclist" as some poor bloke wobbled off into the gutter hotly pursued by my Mini! He was completely unflappable and made me feel great. However, that was so long ago, and I was a mere slip of 17 who could not wait to get motoring. Alas, my mother was reluctant to give up her car to let me do much and then once I moved to london I didn't really need one. Until now. And being old and wise, I realise what damage I could do to myself and others and am terrified!

Neuroses a plenty down here. Usually have a healthy dose of perspective which prevents me from being too bonkers but occasionally anziety etc gets the better of me.

Er, no fruit since last post, but 2 bars of chocolate. Sorry. Am going out for supper as well so unlikely to score well today.

TooTicky · 26/07/2007 21:00

LL, it's in the post. Sent it 1st class in the end, so hopefully it will get there quickly. I came over all emotional when I was packing it up. Can't believe he's grown out of it. Never more will I walk into his room to see a group of little men sitting in a circle having a conference. Never more will he wake me up to change a man's hair.

Have eaten lots of ratatouille. I do like ratatouille.

TooTicky · 26/07/2007 21:02

Oh, ds1 set fire to the toast then gave it to me. It tasted very smoky.

pinkspottywellies · 26/07/2007 21:03

Why on a candle? Ingenuity or lack of power?

pinkspottywellies · 26/07/2007 21:06

I've done a bad thing. See here

Lullabyloo · 26/07/2007 21:08

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Toot......I'll send it back if you like
I get all nostalgic when giving ds's things away
(havn't been able to part with any of his clothes....loft is bulging)
my mother gave everything of mine away...books,,,toys ,,,everything...so I guess my storing habit is somewhat OTT!

supper was chickpea, onion, garlic, red pepper, courgette, leek, spinach stew with brown rice & hemp seeds.

TooTicky · 26/07/2007 21:08

Ingenuity. Or boredom. Poor things were climbing the walls today what with all the rain...

TooTicky · 26/07/2007 21:11

S'okay LL. End of an era. Have to get used to it I suppose. Just as long as he doesn't start getting rid of his badgers...

PSW, I have seriously scary memories of that song and well-meaning mums trying to get me to dance at a junior school disco. I am not a dancer.

TooTicky · 26/07/2007 21:13

Oh, my mum kept everything of mine. I feel quite stifled by it sometimes. I think there's a happy medium - hope I manage to hit it.

Lullabyloo · 26/07/2007 21:14

badgers?

lionheart · 26/07/2007 21:24

That's bad pinks.

< la la la la >

Somebody please tell me it's a bad idea to post on the revived "Is this racist thread?" 'cos it's making me very hot and bothered and I ought to sit on my hands.

pinkspottywellies · 26/07/2007 21:38

It's a bad idea lionheart. Why has someone dredged it up again? I think the argument has been done to death on that thread. Some people are just ignorant and won't 'get it' no matter what you say.

3andnomore · 26/07/2007 21:40

Boco about teh Instructor
Sorry 100 but I had to giggle at your instructors comment...
Got to say my instructor was lovely!

Well....my arm is getting sore now...had my Implanon implant removed today, and that in itself really didn't hurt whatsoever (phew), however, the local is wearing off, I suppose...

Had Peanuts (in coated in choclate )
Pasta wiht a chicken veggie sauce (containing, spinach, fresh tomatoes/tinned tomatoes, flagelotti beans, mushrooms, peppers, onion and garlic...

Also had a few raisins and almonds (in my fruit and nut chocolate bar, lol)

Been a norty girl....hohum....

lionheart · 26/07/2007 21:40

I know, you're right. It is astonishing.

lionheart · 26/07/2007 21:41

I hope it makes you feel better, 2anm.

lionheart · 26/07/2007 21:42

That should be three but it's hard to type and sit on your hands.

3andnomore · 26/07/2007 21:44

lol...sometimes 2andnomore is wishful thinking, lol...(not that I really mean that of course....)...however someone suggested just earlier if I will change my name to 4andnomore in the future, what wiht teh implant being taken out...now...hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Think people might get the (correct) impression that I feel very strong about that bit, lol!

3andnomore · 26/07/2007 21:44

lol cross posted....

lionheart · 26/07/2007 21:45

Just No More would do it then.

pinkspottywellies · 26/07/2007 21:48

My driving instructor was lovely but he was REALLY astonished that I passed. He said he was usually about 75% confident that people would pass but with me it was about 40%!

3andnomore · 26/07/2007 21:48

absolutely...or PleaseNoMore
