For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Um. Well. I keep having to empty it. Rather urgently. And it doesn't feel right.

TheChamberofCarrots · 13/07/2007 21:00

oh I see, not a cosmetic thing then! There are some weird bugs around aren't there.

FirenzeandZooey · 13/07/2007 21:09

Is the bottom trouble related to the basil smoothie? Hmm?

TooTicky · 13/07/2007 21:12

No no! Bottom has been odd all day, smoothie was very recent.

hope your headache improves

I THOUGHT I may have a problem yesterday, had to walk hom very quickly from Wagamamas, think it might have been the chilli, am fine today. I do not have a bug. I don't.

FirenzeandZooey · 13/07/2007 21:39

May I very gently and quietly direct people to this thread with ds on

Sorry if the sudden movement is too much for your heads and bottoms

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2007 21:46

Oh my goodness Franny your ds is GORGEOUS! Congratulations on the lettuce!
Like everyone's Harry Potter names - I went to see the movie last night and have the book on order for next week! I'd quite like a Harry Potter name but I don't know how to change.
F&V count is rubbish - raisins, apple, banana, lettuce, tomatoes, melon, leeks, onions, mushrooms, carrots but all in small portions - oh actually now I look at it, not too bad at all, 5 full portions and the others just bits. Oh and nectarine

FirenzeandZooey · 13/07/2007 21:56

PSW go to "My Mumsnet" up the top and you can change your name

well done on F+V sounds fine to me!

PinkPotterWeasleys · 13/07/2007 22:23

Yay! I've done it! I'm going to bed now to get my beauty sleep - we're having a pixi photo session tomorrow. Not really our kind of thing but DH's family kind of expect to get the picture for the wall!

FirenzeandZooey · 13/07/2007 22:29

Oh I think the photos can be quite nice PSW

like the name btw

TranquilaManana · 13/07/2007 22:40

just eaten a bowl of brown rice.
i cooked it with a veg stock cube in the water... so that'll count for at least a hundredth of a portion...

Malfoynomore · 13/07/2007 22:58

lol Tranquila...
well, after having far to much chocolate (damn dh and his masterfoods working collegue...grrr....chocolate is lethal to me, my dh should know me better, lol)
But I did have a lovely veggie stirfry with a bit of chicken in it, but was to lazy to do rice or noodles and it was plenty of veggies anyway, so rather satisfying ( twas 2 big portions of a stirfry containing Onion, Garlic, Peppers, Mushroom, and a frozen stirfrylot with mungbeansprouts, carrots, leek, peppers, moungetout...and more, what I can't remember right now, lol....

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2007 23:01

There's a lot of illness talk on this thread isn't there? Do you think it's related to all the f & v? I have a cold. I NEVER had colds when I existed soley on a diet of brie and coffee.

I have a cold and I can't think of a HP name

PinkPotterWeasleys · 13/07/2007 23:04

What about ahundredtimeturners?

PinkPotterWeasleys · 13/07/2007 23:07

You know like the time turner Hermione used in the 3rd one to get to her lessons...

PinkPotterWeasleys · 13/07/2007 23:08

By the way - Brie and coffee sounds like a good diet!! I'd have to add chocolate to make it balanced!

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2007 23:09

lol. Oh yes ahundredtimeturners, I like that. Thank you.

BBBBasilisk · 13/07/2007 23:14

2 apples
tomato rissotto
raspberies
banana

2 oranges

ahundredtimeturners is really good.

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2007 23:16

BBBBasilisk · 13/07/2007 23:19

Have booked for 14-16th aug - passports permitting!

TooTicky · 13/07/2007 23:20

ahundredtimeturners · 13/07/2007 23:21

Darn, we're going at the end of the month. I wanted us to have a hot date at one of the Dinner Performances. They sound hilarious.

BBBBasilisk · 13/07/2007 23:22
