For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Aaargh she thought she was annoying us

ruddy hell that is dreadful

Lullaby, you were a complete inspiration and any tinge of negativity would be entirely down to outright jealousy

I hope you come back

oh no, I wondered if Lullabyloo was put off by our green tinged admiration. Come back, and tell us more of hemp and other delicious things, well, you can leave the basil out of the smoothie

The labarynthitis symptoms are very mild, it probably isn't even that. My friend had it and she felt dreadful. I sort of have flashes of feeling mad for a minute and the floor doesn't feel solid, then it's fine. Except everything is a bit odd or it seems that way.

I just paused a (crap) film about Wimbledon from Amazon, thought it had rewound a bit when I returned and actually it's on the tv tonight .

NotQuiteCockney · 06/07/2007 21:43

I get it quite mildly, too MrsC. I can tell it's that, because if I close my eyes, I appear to be spinning, head over arse, repeatedly.

I had two giant servings of ratatouille, and then three big oranges. So that helps. And I ate some veggie crisps (those really nice ones that are a bit like prawn crackers, made with cassava, and no prawns).

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2007 21:45

Yes we must have all been bitchy without meaning to because we were so damn outclassed

have eaten peach

Saying that really fresh figs are beautyful....had them on a market in Yugoslavia (which it still was back then) many moons ago...yum

3andnomore · 06/07/2007 22:01

Oops, that was a bit random....lol....kind of got confused...maybe makes more sense now, lol....

Hi All, again....got off work early,

lol...because the plans changed, so, didn't mind to change my shift, well, cut it short...we don't need the money that desperately, and this shift was more a easing myself into it sort, lol! SAaying that, I am so proud of myself, lol...as I drove from Corby to Luton'ish in a totally unfamilliar car and I had zero probs...bargain the Kid behaved wonderfully for me too, lol!
Anyways, NQC, do you hvae manic depressia (I think that is what it is called in english)...that is a difficult one.....but nuts, I think , are definately meant to be good moodwise. (I wish one of my uncles would listen to me, and have more of those...and he is sort of in that manic depression/schizophrenihmm, not sure about the fig filling in lovely, I assume, Lindt chocoalte, lol! now dates, I could understand...
Saying that really fresh figs are beautyful....had them on a market in Yugoslavia (which it still was back then) many moons ago...yum a league, sadly realy badly though. You seem to have whatever it is, very under control.
Lol, Franny, oh the WW scales aren't really that important, they just sort of kee me on track, but, I sort of am in the middle of loads of things, like notbelieving in low cal products, and not believing Avocado is worth so many points, seeing it is so healthy, but on the other hand it kinda works for me, and the WW leader is absolutely hilarious and lovely Would like that Banana cake recipe by the way, cos I like Banana cake
Aww Greensleeves, I really do hope it isn't MN that gets you into that (like the smacking debate...and I honestly mean it, I would hate to think that any online debate causes such strong reactions, but have been in the situation where I had a fight with online friends that really niggled and cause me to be sleepless, etc....)
Aww Mrs C, aboutr the earthing, but lol at the morish peanutbutter/banana concoction..makes me feel less freaky for sure (for liking it)

Papillon · 06/07/2007 22:07

you lot scaring off the hemp growers

I admit to loving hemp, is to helpful nutritionally?? I don't get the munchies on the stuff, tend more to rattling bag of sticks. Just had a poached egg and off to brunch now at a winery, quite sure it will all more on the unhealthy side. But when I ate at that winery 3 weeks ago I had celeraic soup which goes with the thread title so nah nah, nah nah nah

F&Z lovely you noticed me popping in the other day, shame on all you other wanna be regulars so don't read on this is just for Franny I am doing lots of DIY and being assertive with my dh and have sent him away with children so I can social climb, read books and hang with my mum who has broken her wrist gardening (dangerous past time) Loving being in NZ and creating my own garden, lots of pea straw down for the vegetable garden to come in the spring.

Where is FMFiendtress ??

3andnomore · 06/07/2007 22:09

Hemp...what does that atually taste like and what do you do with it...lo..almost said about it, lol....

Papillon · 06/07/2007 22:12

makes good curtains

Put it in a pancake, a cake. I think Lullabyloo needs to enlighten us tbh

I normally just smoke the stuff Well I did.. . There are so many foods we don't eat, apparently one of the trees at my place is part of the potato family and you can eat the berries, not too keen to try though tbh

3andnomore · 06/07/2007 22:13

lol

TooTicky · 06/07/2007 22:41

Oh do come back Lullabyloo, you are lovely and I enjoy mentally eating your posts

Why does amytriptyline sound so familiar? Is it an anti-depressant? Think I may have had it.

Franny, at your friend with the dog! I am realising quite how dog phobic I am

MrsC, I've found I can't eat bread - or any wheat - in the mornings as it makes me feel sort of bloaty and unpleasant. Generally best if I avoid it at lunchtime too. BUT, I get my bread/peanut butter fix just before bed and it is fine and in fact necessary. Am I just weird?

Have had 3 hefty portions of salad this evening (lettuce, chard, tomato, red pepper, cuc, sunflower sprouts, radishes). Also gooseberries, loganberries and a plum. And sticky chocolate sauce pudding.

3andnomore · 06/07/2007 23:15

TT , any man made carbs are the worst if taken before bed...well, weight wise anywise..body turns down etc...

TooTicky · 06/07/2007 23:40

Blimey, don't say that! I don't really want to give up bread altogether. What if I run up and down the stairs a bit before getting into bed? [hopeful]

FrannyandZooey · 07/07/2007 07:05

Papillon that is good to hear. Social climbing . FMF is around, she drops in and tells us lovely tales of allotments and pirates

TooT maybe you could eat the bread and then have a very energetic dream?
