For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

IT WAS MY TITLE!!! And thank you F&Z for being so honest, I do love you!

And I have read the book. It was, in fact written especially for me...

And I drink Miso soup (please may I join the clique, I love obscure cliques almost as much as I love puns!)

Have just eaten a startlingly large pile of rocket with raw green beans, red pepper, cucumber, tomato, celery and some rather elderly nori flakes. With wholemeal bread (homemade of course), tahini and natex. So, presumably tahini can be counted as a natural food, as in the 26, so today so far...8.

I did think of a new twist though, for those who really want a challenge: 26 natural foods and each has to start with a different letter. Would have to consider whether zucchini is permissible in this country though, and, if indeed xylophones are edible, are they natural? And what is xanthan gum anyway?

Oh dear, my brain is on an odd warp today. I think I have OD'd on rocket.

Ooh, also had olive oil, blood orange and brazil nuts...11

Lullabyloo · 22/06/2007 13:50

Toot...what is natex?

TooTicky · 22/06/2007 13:53

Natex is a low salt version of marmite that isn't made by marmite

Lullabyloo · 22/06/2007 14:02

ooooooooooooooh...dh loves marmite & now ds asks for it all the time...maybe he'd eat this instead

lionheart · 22/06/2007 14:34

I'm still stuck on the rule thing.

Toot (I like that abbreviation), there can't be much that slows you down.

Aviatrix, how rude!!!!

(I don't bother on here so much as I am invariably in a rush to talk, but in RL I used to be a sub editor for a living. And I have corrected signs and posters with a black marker before now, I'll have you know!...)

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2007 18:03

hadn't noticed that.

Have had lots today, grapes, strawberries, cuc, smoothies, half a cauliflower, bananas, still working to get a better balance between fruits and veg.

59p a bargain.

I decided to save myself a quid and refuse to feed the little ride at the supermarket.

Then had to make the aeroplane noises myself. Very resourceful, I think.

lionheart · 22/06/2007 19:03

Tinned fruit cocktail is particularly unpleasant.

filthymindedvixen · 22/06/2007 19:11

I always quite liked those strange little uber-pink cherries in it though...

look F&Z, fame!
