For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:48

Me.

Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:50

Me too.

I do admire the good use of a semi-colon but am never entirely sure I've done it right.

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:51

Boco, I really don't think you're allowed to proposition Franny. It's not in the rules.

The boot camp was good fun though.

StevetheSturgeon · 21/06/2007 23:23

Yeah, thought so, but was worth a shot. She was very nice about it though.

StevetheSturgeon · 21/06/2007 23:23

Ooops.

TooTicky · 21/06/2007 23:29

Blimey, you lot have been busy. Or rather, you haven't - you've been sitting around on your arses chatting. I have been busy. I have shopped twice, libraried once, seen some bastard deliberately run over a pigeon and watched it die , roped a helpful but unsuspecting chap into driving a bus, been to school meeting, been to committee meeting and walked a brisk more than 3 miles carrying dd2. On top of all the usual stuff.
Have had a tomato, a grapefruit and some broccoli.
Avi, I could easily join you in the no buying and not just because of skintness - I have this weird guilt thing about buying and consumerism. Always have. And if your house is too minimalist you are welcome to some of our clutter - free of charge - just tell me how many bags you would like. Comes with optional cat hair/odd socks.

TooTicky · 21/06/2007 23:31

Oh, and you can get rice miso and barley miso - use it like stock in soups, etc. I like brown rice miso. And miso soup is usually lovely but varies a lot.

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2007 08:33

LOL Boco outing herself

"I really don't think you're allowed to proposition Franny. It's not in the rules."

Ruddy hell let's make NEW RULES then

I DEMAND to be propositioned

TooT so sorry about the pigeon, and everything else. And very respectful of those of you who are listening to your consumer guilt and doing something about it, instead of submerging it under fab new smocks

We are almost out of fruit and are anxiously scanning the skies for signs of our fruit man. Waiting for him has meant I have my favourite P J Harvey song stuck in my head

"Is he near?
Is he far?
Bring peace to my black and empty heart"

Just eaten apple, banana, raisins, orange.
