I have a horrific spot in a fairly delicate place. It has been driving me fucking bonkers today, it was right on a knicker edge, and ow ow ow ow ow.

The spot isn't a white head, it's red, and weird and very very sore. Is lancing it worth doing? I've put isopropol alcohol on it, to try to dry it out ...

Sugarfree I would never suggest that NQC should approach her minge with a pair of scissors

NotQuiteCockney · 08/06/2007 22:07

The pimple itself is about the size of a pea, and the lump underneath isn't that much bigger. We're not talking oranges here!

sugarfree · 08/06/2007 22:07

Sorry NQC,you probably didn't need to know that.
My money's on a common or garden pimple/boil.

sugarfree · 08/06/2007 22:08

Like I didn't need to know about the hair situation.

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:09

GP will be fine.

If pus can't get out it will track inwards, resulting in a sinus which sometimes requires surgical drainage and packing with gauze until it heals outwards.

And I'm probably alarming you without reason. See your GP. It may just be a stubborn boil.

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2007 22:09

My mother was a nurse too and she said arse cavities are the worst

not that I'm trying to alarm you or anything NQC

NotQuiteCockney · 08/06/2007 22:10

:-P at Frances

Right, I must sleep or I will be even more crap tomorrow. Off to pick up my bike and get olive oil etc etc in the morning.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2007 22:10

oh it is just a big arse spot

I bet it comes to a head tomorrow

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:10

sugarfree.

Trying to be balanced and un-alarmist here. I haven't even seen NQC's arse.

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2007 22:10

hope it is ok, seriously

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:12

I'm sure it will be.

Maybe skip the cycling though, until you get it looked at?

pirategirl · 08/06/2007 22:12

pmsl @ arse cavities

sugarfree · 08/06/2007 22:13

None of us have Bubble because she is too selfish to put a picture of it on her profile.

sugarfree · 08/06/2007 22:14

FannieAnnie did and she was giving birth at the time!

jellysmummy · 08/06/2007 22:15

Hello just skimmed read this, sounds like you've got a Bartholin's cyst, nothing to worry about and for god's sake leave it alone!!
try this link for peace of minge (sorry mind?!)

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:15

I know, sugarfree. In the spirit of the mnet sistahood I think she should post on her profile.

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2007 22:16

I've seen it clothed

it is not unremarkable

Earlybird · 08/06/2007 22:17

Is it an area that you do/have shaved? Could it be an ingrowing hair that has got infected?

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:18

I saw it clothed, too.

And dancing on a 'banquette.'

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2007 22:19

I'll warrant that's where this trouble began, bubble

Bubble99 · 08/06/2007 22:21

Yes. There is a saying.

'If dancin' on a banquette ye be.
Be sure to exfoliate yer' arse on the nearest tree..'

Or something like that.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 07:31

Good god, you people are weird.

No, it's not a Bartholin's cyst, it is definately an arse pimple, although close to the relevant bits.

DH says it is actually four pimples which have merged. At any rate, last night, while I was asleep, two of them burst. It's gone down a bit, it doesn't hurt as much (I put some isopropyl alcohol on it, as that's my general solution to these things). I'll keep an eye on it (and on the lump underneath) but for now it seems ok.

Oh, and skipping the cycling is a bit tricky - like asking someone else to skip walking, iyswim. I might go light on it next week, though, as it's DS1's half term. But probably not, as he wants to go swimming etc.

OP posts:
Earlybird · 09/06/2007 07:51

Glad it's better. My bet is that it's definitely an ingrowing hair. My old 'waxer' used to tell me to loofah the area regularly, as it helped solve that problem.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 07:59

Oh, I don't wax, and don't shave my arse. Actually, it's not a hairy bit that's spotty.
