I have a horrific spot in a fairly delicate place. It has been driving me fucking bonkers today, it was right on a knicker edge, and ow ow ow ow ow.

The spot isn't a white head, it's red, and weird and very very sore. Is lancing it worth doing? I've put isopropol alcohol on it, to try to dry it out ...

oh eek aargh no thank you

I am the most fussiest, hard to please person you could possibly imagine

erm but I think you all knew that

I would HAVE to see it and pref try it on

but thank you I will make sure to go when we are in London

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:12

It just is very seasonal. They have lots of pointless tops, lots of very very short shorts, some 'city' shorts (which I can't get on with), and bazillions of flarey skirts. Right now.

I could take pics of them and post and so on. I am sure the circles one was perfect, tbh, but I only saw it in an 8. Oh, and it maybe seemed a bit short.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:17

ah shortness is no good either, I look like Alice in Wonderland, post-"Drink Me"

I don't think even with pictures I could say for sure

there was the most wonderful skirt that people found for me on here, I wanted one in each colour it was so lovely, and when it turned up it was just horrible

you are very kind indeed though

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:18

If there's a Saturday you could do a day trip out to us (and visit market), you could tell me and I could scope out market on the Saturday, or even the Thursday before, to see what sort of clothes there were?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:21

ooh yes that sounds good

ah perhaps not

ooh bother

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:23

Well, think about it. Let me know if there's a day that makes sense. The market opens around 9. Are you sure it was Roman Road market you tried last time? I can think of five other local street markets that aren't as good for clothing.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:29

It was that one outside Leon, where we met you that first time

it looked amazing every time I had no cash and then when I actually went to buy stuff there was just weird things there

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:30

anyway

how's the minge boil? Ready to post pics yet?

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:34

Oh, no, that's Spitalfields, a totally different market.

Local market options:

  • Roman Road: lots of stuff from last season, very cheap, random
  • Spitalfields: very tempting from a distance, but yes, mostly weird things
  • Bethnal Green: not sure what this is for. Crap things, mostly
  • Broadway: like Spitalfields but smaller and more posh, with lots of good food.
  • Petticoat Lane: not sure what this one is for, cheap I think? Random things
  • Whitechapel: good fruit and veg.
  • Columbia Road: Flowers and plants

Roman Road is out near me, much further east than Spitalfields.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:35

There will be no minge boil pictures! (And it's not actually on my minge!)

It's better, mostly, I think. I swore I'd stop cycling, but then went out cycling again. Whoops.

oh blimey i've got one of these on my inner thigh i've had it since christmas and it has a hard lump under it. it drives me crazy all methods above tried including mag sulphate. i need it lanced.

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:38

ah, but Spitalfields has your jacket and also when I met you there I really DID like the stuff

I don't know if I will make it out to Roman Rd when we are up there next? I was thinking you meant somewhere nearer L L St for some reason

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:39

well take some then

what's keeping you?

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:41

No no, this is Roman Road market. A very different beast to Spitalfields - this is lots of stuff that is seconds etc. No used clothes, I don't think, lots of very random things, and then racks and racks of Topshop, H+M, dotty P, whatever, but cheap.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:47

I don't think I have been to that one?

It's a shame you're going to be away when we are staying. We have roped Greeny into it as well.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:49

It is a pity, but our trip is very very tied down on dates. There are threads where I'm ranting about it. It's a whole school holidays/20-year high school reunion thing.

I am probably buying tickets this week, I have accommodation for both cities, it's nearly all there.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:49

I doubt you would have been to Roman Road. I do think you'd like it, maybe stay with us next time and you can go visit it? It's Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but Sat is the big day.

I have been known to do a bit of DIY lancing !!! Obviously I couldn't recommend it to anyone - but it does work !! You have to sterilise a needle in a flame (match or candle) - let it cool and then insert the needle into the offending boil ! Have a piece of tissue or lint handy, preferably with antibacterial stuff on - squeeze the gunk, put cream on and Bob's your uncle !

Yuck - but what a relief !

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:53

Oh I have completely missed both threads and Roman Road market, then

sound of everything going over Franny's head

FrannyandZooey · 09/06/2007 16:54

scatterbrain - or, stab it with scissors

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2007 16:55

The travel threads have been small but informative. And one gave me the idea to fly in, overnight in an airport hotel, and then travel on to destination, which should work.

OP posts:
scatterbrain · 09/06/2007 16:55

Hmmm - scissors make big mark though - bigger wound to heal up ! If you're lucky with a needle there is no mark !

southeastastra · 09/06/2007 16:58

i've tried stabbing with a needle but it's too deep i'll have to try the scissor method. [ow]

scatterbrain · 09/06/2007 17:00

ooooh No - don't - it needs a trip to a GP for professional lancing !!
