Have a lovley time veggie!
I love the tour de france - more for the scenery than anything!!

DoubleBluff · 07/07/2007 11:21

Alos have lost 2lbs this weeek.
Think it is due to increasde mileage - yahay!! 13 more to go!

glitterfairy · 07/07/2007 11:30

Is the tour on tv anywhere?

osy well done you and brilliant time for a slouch LOL

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2007 11:42

2lbs wow well done, there is something wrong with our scales as i seem to be putting on weight.

yeah it's on eurosport i'm not sure if they will put it on any normal stations as i think Sky has the rights though sometimes is on ITV too.

I love the senery too would love to do the 1st stage roue sometime this summer although not all in one day of course, maybe 3+

DoubleBluff · 07/07/2007 11:59

DH is planing on doing some of the route when the boys are older.
I enjoy cycling in France the roads are so much quieter.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/07/2007 13:28

Am hoping to get my running shoes today....cant really run without them I think.

Feel a bit deflated. I just want to get out there and do it, iykwim?

DoubleBluff · 07/07/2007 13:29

It's a horrible feeling when you want to run but can't.
Feel like an addict!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/07/2007 19:18

Got my shoes

Nike Air Structure Triax 9 (???)

They fit beautifully. I havent road tested them yet. I will tomorrow morning. I have had a bugger of a headache all day and its just started to get worse. Have taken co-dydramol so I think running whilst doped up = bad move.

popsycal · 07/07/2007 20:10

oooh i have air structure triax and LOVE them @_

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2007 20:39

VVV you sound hooked on running good stuff

i hope your headache is better by tomorrow so you can run, nothing like good strong drugs to sort it out. I try to be as natural as possible when it comes to food and cleaning products and other stuff but when it comes to pain, give me the strong stuff and lots of it.

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2007 20:41

Pops how are you feeling tired today???

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2007 20:42

oh i think i am feeling a bit tired that was supposed to read, how are you, are you still feeling tired?

popsycal · 07/07/2007 20:48

a bit tired but better than i have been

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/07/2007 22:26

DP seems to think they are a rip off, but, I think £40 for a pair of trainers is pretty good going these days anyway.

Veggiemummy · 08/07/2007 00:25

£40 is amazing for such a good pair of trainers and you will prob wear them more than any other pair of shoes, my asics usually cost around £60-£70 but for over pronating shoes they are great i don't need get inner soles and used to have to pay for podiatrist due to pain in knees when running, now just wear the right shoes and i'm all good.

TheDuchessOfNorks · 08/07/2007 01:24

£40 isn't bad at all - and Popsycal is seriously obsessed with Nike Triax so they should be very good shoes!

Can anyone recommend a trainer that will cope with deep puddles and lots of mud? Currently, my feet get wet just running through wet grass so I'm going to need something more waterproof for the winter.

popsycal · 08/07/2007 07:53

VVVQV - I got mine for 40 and they were nearly half price reduced for 75. It is a really good price IMO - especially for support shoes.

Gosh I have just woken up.....no boys here again
bizaare

DoubleBluff · 08/07/2007 10:01

Duchess maybe you need trail running shoes?
Popsy are you having a good weekend?
I a m frazzled.
We are having a lazy morning and are stillin our PJS!
Hope to run this evening when Dh gets home. Or I might have a few well deserved glasses of wine and go first ting tomorrow!
Is any one race for lifing today?
If so good luck.

glitterfairy · 08/07/2007 10:29

Am off on the ballet run today again and then packing ready to move in the middle of my first week at my new job.

Oh well fitting in running may be the least of my worries. I think there is a running path at the hospital though so may get enthused to do lunch time runs and amaze my new colleagues.

I love my running shoes but they were £90.

Beetroot · 08/07/2007 10:39

Glitter - I am sure you will get a routine together once you have settled in at work. Just make sure you don't go munching!!! And am I going to see you and or the kids???

popsycal · 08/07/2007 11:16

My weekend has been very very quiet
My boys are soooooooooooo loud (or 'exuberant' as ds1's report said several times....).

Just had a fab run by the beach. 15 minute drive then 20 minutes run along a path along the coast. It was sooooo busy as it is the first sunny day in weeks. I ran past 4 female runners and several boys (now 19) who I used to teach 10 years ago. They were going in the opposite direction and shouted 'Hi Miss Popsycalmaidenname - get those knees up!'. Very amusing!

Anyway.
Off for a shower then to tidy this midden of a house!

Happy running!

TheDuchessOfNorks · 08/07/2007 12:21

I like the idea of running at the beach - but it's an hours drive away.

I've been out for 30 minutes running this morning, mostly hills. It's good to live at the top of a big a hill because you're house doesn't get flooded but it's hard work for running! I only covered about 3.5k but the last 2k was all up hill and some of it is quite steep so I'm pretty pleased with myself!

popsycal · 08/07/2007 12:24

I am so very lucky - I live about 4 miles away from a large city, 15 minutes from the beach. Country parks a 10 minute walk away and 'real' countryside only about 10 miles away The north east is great

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 08/07/2007 12:30

I'm quite similar popsy - except for the beach (very ) I don't like my city particularly but the Peak District is 20 minutes drive way. And they've done a fab job on the canal towpaths which is 200 m from my door. I can run 10 miles one way through the city or 5 the other through the countryside....and no hills just locks.

I am quite nervous about running down the bridal paths near me. They are literally on my doorstep but go through a wooded area and famrers' fields. I ought to be running there rather than my boring circuit of a housing estate but I get a bit nervy. Should I just go for it?
