For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information \link{http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Policyandguidance/Healthandsocialcaretopics/FiveADay/FiveADaygeneralinformation/DH_4001494 \here} (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

I had a bad experience with a knitting group

Surely that's tautological?

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:47

Greeny, this lot were playing ice hockey all over the place, it was very alarming.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:47

And fillyjonk didn't have her mouthguard, even!

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 20:48

Tatties short notice is good for me - HC will tell you I start to go to pieces if anything more long term is planned

Overrun - smocks and tunics - precisely. Anything that ties or has gathers under the boobs is a disaster - just accentuates it totally. However I find that gathers just above the bust looks great and they have quite a few like that in Topshop atm.

The other thing I do is only ever wear a dark colour on top . I do like colourful clothes as well as my beloved black, but every time I have worn a coloured top I end up horrified when I see a photo or catch sight of myself in a mirror.

To my shame I did buy ds a (non weapon containing) pirate outfit for his birthday (it is one of the LESS violent games he wants to play ) but he has staunchly refused to wear it.

greeny you know you can knit with beads, yes? does that help at all?

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:49

Is he still mad for the spinny horror?

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 20:51

LOL I think the meet up is just me trying to get Tatties to drop in on her drive down south

I think we are probably a bit out of her way but since she will be in the correct hemisphere for the first time I thought it would be worth a try

TT I don't know where you live?

NQC my word talk about attention seeking! Who would make such a fuss about something so petty as...oh....which skirt to wear....erm.... to a party

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 20:51

NQC yes indeedy

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 20/04/2007 20:52

god, yes. who would go on and on and on about a party and which skirt to wear?
imagine such a thing

TooTicky · 20/04/2007 20:52

Wiltshire.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:52

I can have a whole other thread about how on earth I will get there, and what I will do with the DSes, too.

(I am trying to sort out a motorbike taxi atm . And two people to do put down, and then one person to stay.)

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:53

Oh, good, I am alternately and about that, for each of you. How is he about Captain Pirate Spinny Underpants?

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 20:57

I have just sent you a letter about Capt Underpants in fact

I think you are top of his list of party invitees for next year

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 20:58

TT is in Wiltshire! You see! We are all feckin miles away

we should call ourselves the "Destined never to have a meet up" club

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:58

What, an actual paper letter? Weirdo.

I'm glad he liked us visiting, I think I tried to apply unsubtle pressure for him to drag you to London soon. Magnus definately enjoyed his company.

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 21:00

Yes we are due to come to London in October according to dp and our finances

ah well anyone welcome to pop down here for the day

oh Tatties wants a new thread, do you promise to all keep posting if I do one, or will it just sink like a stone?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 21:01

Maybe we'll come at the next half term? End of May?

(You know you can stay at ours next time, right?)

Cazee · 20/04/2007 21:07

Today I have had lentil shepherds pie (thanks Franny for the idea the other day), and it was lovely.
Cappuccino, I was treated for health anxiety too. It came to a head when I had ds (now 7), but I had CBT and it was excellent. How are you getting on?

Hmm aviatrix

Cazee good to hear CBT worked for you. I was being partly serious btw Cappucino, will we freak you out discussing health issues all the time on here?

NQC we have plans that week but maybe early in the summer holidays? Or we are free often at weekends?
