For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information \link{http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Policyandguidance/Healthandsocialcaretopics/FiveADay/FiveADaygeneralinformation/DH_4001494 \here} (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

oh blimey sorry

HC has just rung, did not mean to be alarming and then disappear

googling shows it is probably nothing and can be found in perfectly healthy people for no apparent reason

BUT as many of you know, am ex-drinker and obviously liver damage is a bit scary (I did have liver function test after I gave up and it was fine, so, hopefully...)

and I am peeved that doctor is not going to pursue my pins and needles any more until she has tested liver enzymes again in 8 weeks

(and I KNEW the blood count would be normal)

but HC has pointed out I should just make another appt and make a nuisance of myself

sorry I should have put all this in my previous post but just wanted a quick offload

filthymindedvixen · 20/04/2007 12:03

Jeezus girl, I was about to email you to check if you had hit the bourbon in blind panic....

yes, be a nuisance.

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2007 12:11

Sorry chaps

was in slight shock when I first posted

mostly due to having skim read this

especially the bit about "suggests liver damage even when there are no other symptoms"

I DID have a liver function thingy done 3 years ago. I HAVEN'T drunk a drop of alcohol for over 5 years. So, should be ok, shouldn't it?

(sorry but word "liver" just sent me into a mad panic at the time)

do have marvellous local health shop with fab knowledgeable supplement type woman who exudes well-being, though

may have to hand over dp's next pay cheque to her

Who gave you the blood test results? Did they not explain a bit more? I hate it when you get a result like that then they leave you hanging, with no explanation. I'd like to think that if it was anything serious they would tell you straight away. Hope you're ok.

Tatties · 20/04/2007 12:26

Oh sorry, missed that doc wants to test again in 8 weeks. I would definitely make another appt to put your mind at rest. And stop googling!

I know! They didn't tell me what it meant, or anything - I HAD to google to find out roughly how long I had to live

I don't know if it could be causing my pins and needles (without further googling ) but I presume it could be, or they would not have tested for it

and yes, go back in 8 weeks to have another test. That's it.

Aviatrix you wait until you meet Greeny in RL. She really can't do the compellingness of her wardrobe justice through the written word

Oh I will, avi, I will

me too!

Franny, milk thistle is supposed to be exellent for improvngliver function.

and yes, stop googling! (says me who has convinced herself she has terrible things wrong due to unexplained breast soreness...)

Today, porridge and blueberries. Large salad with sweetcorn, onion, lettuce, watercress, peppers, olives and tuna.

Am battling vague nausea as well.

Of course, the other possibility is Not An Option.

DrewPeacock · 20/04/2007 12:35

the 'me too' was finidng greeny's outfir compelling.

Also wondered why F&Z had such a hissy fit over her skirt when we find out she has a Purple Skirt With Sequins!! What was wrong with that one then?
