NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 21:51

fuddy duddy my arse
liar.

anyway, theyre goooood. good for picnics and food on the go. kids think theyre naughty food coz it comes in packaging. like humzingers. you know humzingers, right?

Greenleeves · 12/04/2007 22:02

eat your heart out, Franny

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 22:07

omg greeny, im off to go eat peanut butter by the fingerful.
yum.
(and thatll make 11) [smug]

lionheart · 12/04/2007 22:39

A peanut is a pulse?

Cazee · 12/04/2007 22:42

I think ellas yellow one is a smoothy

Cazee · 12/04/2007 22:44

Also I think peanuts, despite being a legume, don't count, in the same way as potatoes, despite being veg, don't. The Guardian said that hummous counts, but I doubt that too. Does anyone know?

lionheart · 12/04/2007 22:48

It's a pity because it would be a good way to bump up the protein ...

TooTicky · 12/04/2007 22:53

I have since had carrots, cauliflower and rhubarb and banana crumble. But I have had peanut butter.... and tahini....
Franny, tell me about your vegan boots..... I have some hemp ones

TooTicky · 12/04/2007 22:53

Halo, I mean

lionheart · 12/04/2007 23:00

You could have really started something there, TT.

Everyone would be wanting to know what is this halp of which you speak.

There would be a debate, some silliness, and a few would covert to halpiness.

TooTicky · 12/04/2007 23:04

Well, actually, it's just the super green, ethical, healthy version of a halo, but I wasn't intending to make you all feel inferior.

lionheart · 12/04/2007 23:09

Lentil weavers are quite competitive, aren't they?

Tatties · 12/04/2007 23:10

I have been slacking with the fruit snacking (still blaming loss of appetite on weird hormones ) but I had hummus at lunch, then spicy veg stew thing with cous cous for dinner. It was packed with good stuff - lentils, tomatoes, carrot, celery, red pepper, onion, green beans... And it was tasty so I went back for a second helping. So along with what I had this morning I've probably got around my usual 7.

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 08:40

Oh god another mutiny

no way, Greeny

look whether they are pulses or not (like I would trust the Americal Peanut doodah to know) they are not one of your 5. Lentils, beans and peas - YES. Nuts and seeds - NO. It doesn't mean you shouldn't be eating them! They are fabulous things to eat. Just eat your 10 a day AS WELL.

And hummus definitely counts. It has chickpeas in it.

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 08:41

Ooh lionheart talking of competitive, I like your tip of the week

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 08:42

Tooticky, I have got a couple of pairs, from Vertbaudet. They are just cheapo plastic "leather" ones. Probably quite unethical but darn cheap, and vegan.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 08:45

Nappies with my fuddy duddy hat on I am laughing at this:

"good for picnics and food on the go"

yeah, because fruit is, like, such a hassle, right?

(but I do get what you mean about the forbidden, packaged thing. I think ds was given something similar the other day at a party? A sort of sucky gloop thing? My god it was SWEET)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 08:46

Tatties that sounds like more than 7, and why are your hormones weird and can we gather round you and stroke you on the head a bit?

OP posts:
NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 13/04/2007 09:05

now listen here, i called you francois and everything so stop being sarky madam!
and fruit itself is slightly more hassle on the go coz you have peelings and cores and stuff to carry about after

and the mushed fruit was sweet b/c fruit is um....sweet!

so there!

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 09:29

Ah you see that was your mistake

I am girl so Francoise (yes I do know Filly calls me Frank all the time )

It was scarily sweet, I suspect large amounts of apple juice. So you prefer empty gunk cartons to a nice fragrant banana skin. do you? (hmm, starting to become convinced here )

OP posts:
lionheart · 13/04/2007 09:33

Ha, just noticed that Franny (even more raised eyebrows because said toddler has an unusual name).

Today will be a challenge 'cos we're off to one of those so-called fun parks. It passes as one of the circles of hell even before you factor in the food provision (chips and burgers).

Am taking a sackload of fruit and two luminously dressed children.

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2007 09:34

Heh, I want to know the name now

give it to me as an anagram, I am sure no-one else will get it
