So. Whole family had norovirus last week - I wasn't sick unlike the others but I was thoroughly ahem emptied.
I swear I saw rice crispies circa 1989 in there 😱
I am now very constipated.
I've been eating fruit and rice cakes and bland stuff but I haven't been for what week now..
Been taking lactose twice a day and took senna last night but still no movement 😞
Ive got some laxido from my mum...should I take it?
I'm so uncomfortable 😞
Help!

My DS (20) has also been suffering, he's been taking laxido but it wasn't working so he took himself to the walk in centre last night and the doctor told him to put 8 sachets in a litre of water and drink the lot! He's going to try it this morning

CheckpointCharlie2 · 09/04/2017 08:14

Can I just say don't strain to get it all out whatever you do as you might fuck up your pelvic floor.

BitOutOfPractice · 09/04/2017 08:51

Checking in for poo watch

Badders123 · 09/04/2017 09:06

Madame- your poor ds Sad
It's miserable!
I haven't had another sachet yet but will do soon
I might stay on a sachet a day til I'm bank ti normal
My pelvic floor is comprehensively knackered already so don't think it would make much difference! 😀

It's probably necessary to ensure things keep moving for a while. Do you think you've cleared the backlog Grin or is there more to come?

Maxwellthecat · 09/04/2017 09:54

I actually logged into mumsnet today to check you'd pooed. Really glad you have.
I'm such a baby when I'm constipated, it's all I can talk about.

Are you drinking plenty? No amount of laxatives will do the job unless you are drinking plenty of fluids to allow them to draw the water into your stools to soften them. Flowers

Badders123 · 09/04/2017 12:04

Yes
Lots of herbal tea and water
👍
I'm very touched at the concern 💐
It's miserable though is t it?
I do feel for those of you that battle this all the time 😞

I had a triple Movicol cocktail 🍸 for breakfast, high high doses of pain relief so it's a pre-emptive strike! So glad you're getting somewhere now, I'd definitely take a sachet a day until normal service resumes, much better and easier to treat before than once you've got all bunged up.

Reow · 09/04/2017 12:18

Totally nominating this for classics Grin

Excellent. Glad you are feeling a bit better. You realise you Mumsnet aunties will all be checking regularly to see if you've eaten your prunes?!?!

picklemepopcorn · 09/04/2017 14:35

Your aunties, not you aunties!

Badders123 · 09/04/2017 14:43

👍
I don't think I need any more sachets tbh -
It's um fine now - not hard and no straining

BusterGonad · 09/04/2017 16:37

Stay on the laxido for a while Op, just for maintenance. Smile

Pollydonia · 09/04/2017 16:51

Well done you, but do as a pp says and take a maintenance dose for a couple of weeks 😊.

Badders123 · 09/04/2017 17:05

Ok
