I said I wouldn't post again, but since MN has been supportive I thought it only fair.

We found out this afternoon, that dh has an agressice adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. With treatment a 'good' prognosis would be a a year or two. I know that in practice it will probably be less than this.

Poor sweet man.

What's there to say? I'm speechless.

Twiglett · 04/12/2006 16:14

Oh I'm weeping for you

And in my heart too I am holding you really tight (to borrow Blu's phrasing)

mb, I keep typing words then deleting them. I don't know what to say. There isn't anything to say. You have been in my thoughts so much - and my heart is breaking to read this latest, so sad, news. I can barely begin to imagine how you must feel - how hard it must be.

Much love to you, your dh and your children xxx

I'm so sorry to hear your news. I don't know what to say.

tamum · 04/12/2006 16:40

mb, I am thinking of you all with much love, as I hope you know. If it seems at all appropriate, I would love your dh to know how very, very much we all care- he just lives in your messages, and in what your ds said about him. There are a whole load of virtual strangers, but in reality friends, who are thinking of you all, cyring with you, and supporting you in the only way we can.

so so sorry martianbishop. wishing you all lots of strength.

robinpud · 04/12/2006 16:55

MB, I am so desperately sorry and wish that it was not so. Having watched dh's lovely mum fight this horrible disease, I know how helpful MacMillan nurses are, and how valuable some of the advice about gathering memories to treasure is.
Like everyone on mn my heart goes out to you and your family. Your school will give you the time off and I hope that you and dh continue to love each other the way that you obviously do for as long as possible.

roisin · 04/12/2006 17:01

Shit
I don't know what to say.

One thing that did help my dad a bit was to go and visit the hospice before he needed to iyswim. (In the end he didn't actually use the hospice, but he found it useful to go and have a look round and find out about their services, before he got to that point.)

Have you told the children?

venusinfurs · 04/12/2006 17:04

MB, I'm so so sorry. This may be 100% correct what they have told you, but there is always always a tiny one per cent that he could surprise anyone. I don't know you, but I'm sending such a huge hug. x

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 04/12/2006 17:05
