thanks IF - but I do feel that I do 'know' you and CC, from not so long ago......

Haven't tested the alcohol-and not-smoking trick yet....am off to a band on Sat. night and a house party afterwards, so if there will be a challenge then that will be it..but to be honest it doesn't make me at all anxious - the thought of doing a gig and a do afterwards sans fags is VERY appealing.

At 9.30 me and three buddies are off for a high-level hill walk - getting really fresh air in my brain and lungs!

Suspect that my biggest enemy right now is complacency.....but just have the conviction that I will NEVER smoke again.

oh and 4 days, 8 hours..........

was in supermarket yesterday...got a very strong wiff of stale tobacco, as a bloke walked passed......"that is how I used to smell????" thought I.

SGIME, now you have me intrigued ... You're lucky if you want to stay anonymous because I have a dreadful memory!

Did do a bracing (and slightly damp)walk this morning - 3 hours round the resevoirs in the Longdendale Valley - I do live in the gorgeous Peak District, remember? And just spent the afternoon happily dozing! dd is off for the weekend at her mat. grandmother's wedding...(no, I've not been at CC's lambrini!)

And dot-to-dot and colouring in really is excellent therapy! Am going to see if she wishes to move onto jig-saws next........

The hiking sounds good. I have been going round the village with dd on her heelies each nihgt in the bitter cold but in the right clothes its rather enjoyable.
No comparison to the peak district of course.....but you know what I mean!

I still want to know who it was though, pann. I think I might know actually - was it someone from Wales?
