Essbee's DS in hospital.

You may or may not have spottedfrom another thread that Essbee's DS is in hospital with kawasaki disease. He still has a high temperature, is very tearful but being quite brave. His lips are still too sore to drink/talkbut they're trying to do without the IV drip so he's trying to take sips although even a straw is painful.

Should anyone fancy sending him something to cheer him up, (and having quizzed essbee) apparently the new version of "Shoot Out" cards is out now and he got quite into it last season - was gutted when the cards finished IIRC.

Essbee - he's got the soluble aspirin yes? Ask your chemist for a syringe - pop the tablet in the syringe, draw up some water and shake it 'til it dissolves, then squirt it in, avoiding those poorly lips. If there's a bit of powder left in the syringe draw up a bit more water and shake it again.

Hope this helps.

awwwwwww Essbee , 1st time Ive seen this , dont have the same time to mn with 2 girls now.

I havent yet had a chance to read the links about the disease, but just from your posts it sounds really hard going. Poor poor little boy,I got a lump in my throat. Sending love and healing for his recovery over the next few weeks/ months. I just think of you braving this alone wit the long hours in hospital. XX

he sounds like he's having to be very brave, you must be proud of him. hope things start looking up soon, essbee.

SoupDragon · 21/10/2006 19:22

Assumed you were having him exorcised

sorry to hear he had a bad night essbee, I suppose you didn't get much sleeep either then?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 21/10/2006 19:56

Essbee - sorry that things are still tough for you both. Hope he starts to perk up very soon.

Keep an eye on those swollen ankles, mention it to the GP if it doesn't settle.

hI there,

I hope you are all feeling better soon.

I have put something in the post today for your DS.

SoupDragon · 22/10/2006 12:26

IIRC nosebleeds are something he's prone to anyway, Lisalisa, so may not be directly linked to the Kawasaki as such but just a nasty side effect for him.

Poor DS & poor you, essbee - you must be exhausted.
I have sent him some shoot cards, so hopefully they will be with you soon.
I hope he is soon on the road to recovery.x
