You may or may not have spottedfrom another thread that Essbee's DS is in hospital with kawasaki disease. He still has a high temperature, is very tearful but being quite brave. His lips are still too sore to drink/talkbut they're trying to do without the IV drip so he's trying to take sips although even a straw is painful.

Should anyone fancy sending him something to cheer him up, (and having quizzed essbee) apparently the new version of "Shoot Out" cards is out now and he got quite into it last season - was gutted when the cards finished IIRC.

They may let him go home tomorrow. The heart scan is booked for 1pm (although it doesn't sound like he'll co operateso not sre what they'll do then). Essbee is, unsurprisingly, knackered.

Glad you're home essbee, and that they are keeping a close eye on him. Hope that he continues to improve.

A girl at ds1's primary had kawasaki and although she was very poorly she's fine now. Hope your ds has the same result.

TheBlairAitchProject · 17/10/2006 19:43

glad to hear that you are all safe, essbee. take it easy...if you can.

dinny · 17/10/2006 19:52

what a nightmare essbee, I am so sorry your ds is ill like this - please pass on a big hello from us.

If he is fine in December, we'd love to see you - I am down your way for a week over Christmas and this time can make plans.

covenoveneer · 17/10/2006 19:57

Essbee, you don't "know" me but I have been following this thread and have popped a little something in the post for ds. Hope he gets better really soon.

Piffle · 17/10/2006 19:59

Overrun · 17/10/2006 20:02

glad your ds is home, hope that every thing works out for him

robinpud · 17/10/2006 20:07

So sorry to hear about ds; hope that the aspirin does the necessary and that this heart scan and all subsequent ones reveal no heart issues.
Kawasakis does seem to be more prevalent. A girl in ds's antenatal group had it badly and I have heard of a couple of other children.
Everything crossed for you Essbee

LIZS · 17/10/2006 20:10

So glad to hear you are both back home , what an ordeal you've all been through. Have been thinking of you and do hope you get some good news again next week.

Marina · 17/10/2006 20:15

Now I thought I posted on this thread yesterday essbee but it must have been one of my phantom posts
Very, very pleased to hear you are both home now and ds is on the mend
You must have been out of your mind with worry, I know I'd have been. Kawasaki Disease is really unpleasant. Thank God he's doing OK.
