Essbee's DS in hospital.

You may or may not have spottedfrom another thread that Essbee's DS is in hospital with kawasaki disease. He still has a high temperature, is very tearful but being quite brave. His lips are still too sore to drink/talkbut they're trying to do without the IV drip so he's trying to take sips although even a straw is painful.

Should anyone fancy sending him something to cheer him up, (and having quizzed essbee) apparently the new version of "Shoot Out" cards is out now and he got quite into it last season - was gutted when the cards finished IIRC.

So glad that he's making those steps towards full recovery. It must be still so stressful for you. Sending you lots of love and best wishes from Colorado.

glad things do seem to be improving Essbee

not surprising if you feel bad after having to keep it all together for so long.

vomit bug has hit the fennel household too (so you can feel less isolated on that one . dd1 yesterday, am waiting for the rest to succumb...

(our poor carpet, what with vomit bug and dd3's unsuccessful potty training it's having a hard week)

Hi there essbee! Computer problems at this end finally sorted (hurrah!).

I think it's bound to be a slow business getting back to normal routine: his poor little body's had a hell of a time of it. It is progress in the right direction though.

Sorry dd's been ill as well. And I agree with fennel, I'm nor surprised you felt rough. It's only now you're able to start letting go of all the stress you've been carrying all these weeks.

Be kind to yourself. x

Has anyone heard from essbee recently?

I hope she and the kids are feeling a bit better now.

fennel · 19/11/2006 10:49

last I heard her ds was a bit better and she was about to go to London for the big meet-up. But her computer's sick, hence lack of posts.

anorak · 19/11/2006 10:53

Yes, lots of us saw her at the London meet-up last night.

She says he is feeling better and managed a couple of hours at school this week. She was in great spirits and obviously really needed a little break from looking after him but I know he must be a lot better or she would never have come to London. I think she's managed this marvellously well, I take my hat off to her, she's become such a strong and capable woman in the time I've known her.

So sorry to hear DS is not so good, essbee.
Poor little man, & poor you.

Glad you had a chance to let your hair down a bit last night - I'm sure the break did you good.

Hope DS's temp doesn't rise any further & that he is soon feeling better.x

my next 4 evenings are free but not Fri or Sat.

Essbee check the xmas meet up thread for my attempts to consider a different night for it to maybe suit more people.

anorak · 20/11/2006 10:22

Most people run out of patience when someone's covering them in scratches, don't they?

Rhubarb · 20/11/2006 10:27

Glad he seems a bit like his old self essbee! No doubt he'll have all this energy bursting to get out as well as feelings of frustration at being ill for so long.

You DO have a lot of patience btw!

fennel · 20/11/2006 10:32

tis possible to be capable but not at all patient. (takes one to know one).

Essbee is of course very capable, otherwise she wouldn't have moved alone + kids to the western wilds.
