You may or may not have spottedfrom another thread that Essbee's DS is in hospital with kawasaki disease. He still has a high temperature, is very tearful but being quite brave. His lips are still too sore to drink/talkbut they're trying to do without the IV drip so he's trying to take sips although even a straw is painful.

Should anyone fancy sending him something to cheer him up, (and having quizzed essbee) apparently the new version of "Shoot Out" cards is out now and he got quite into it last season - was gutted when the cards finished IIRC.

Just seen this, sorry you're going through it essbee. My friend's DS had kawasaki's, so I know what you're going through. Thinking of you.

Hi, essbee

I think you should be up for canonisation after this episode

Have you mentioned to him the possibility of going into school next week? Does he seem as if he would like to go? Maybe he could just go in until morning break for the first few days to get him used to being there - or from morning break until lunchtime - what does the school say?

Essbee - maybe if he stays at home for another week or two he'll both feel better for it and start getting bored and wanting to go in. It sounds as he's still quite poorly.

What did they advise you Essbee? It might not be uncommon to have a raised temp. in the recovery phase. Call the ward if you are worried. I would keep him off another week. He can always havehome tutoring from the school if he is fit enough for it.

DrFrankenZooey · 29/10/2006 21:29

Essbee I have just caught up with what's been happening, very sorry to hear he has a temperature again

Flamebat · 29/10/2006 21:32

How have I missed this??? Essbee

I read up on Kawasaki last year when we were concerned that DD had it.

Thinking of you all lots.

Pinkchampagne · 29/10/2006 21:33

Oh essbee. Sorry to hear DS has a temperature again.
Think he is best staying off school for another week or so.
Hope he is feeling better soon.xxx

Awwww Nope, I know nothing more than a few websites which I feel sure you would have read. DD had quite a few similar symptoms, but it turned out to be a bad weird virus.

Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you.

I didn't realise he was hf asd too... is that going to make the return to school even harder what with routine being completely gone for so long? (Only a slight knowledge of asd, so I am sorry if I am wrong).

How's he doing now?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 30/10/2006 15:06

I've been away essbee - sorry to hear that he's not much better. Hope you manage to avoid the hospital again. What dose aspirin is he on?
