...and it really bloody hurts , I can hardly swallow. And I have got aches and little stabbing pains all over, and I look like a hamster because my glands are all swollen, and my skin feel like one giant bruise all over. AND a a new cold sore. I have caught a virus from ds1, who has had it for over a week now, and has a burst eardrum.

Just wanted to whinge and moan, really

Wahey Greeny, you hear that? Coke on the NHS. Get yourself down there pronto (but don't tell Boris)

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 10:40

Is cocaine a pain killer then?

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 10:47

**

I have just snorted something out of my sinus that looks extraterrestrial in origin

It is a big clump of white.....tissue...as in actual body tissue, not snot, with streaks and little clots of blood in it , it is about the size of a small conker, it is MINGING! What IS it?????

sugarfree · 26/09/2006 10:54

Is it....is it...is it your brian?!!!

sugarfree · 26/09/2006 10:54

Mercy · 26/09/2006 11:28

GLT what the hell could it be? How do you feel now?

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 11:31

I don't know what it was I have had a bit of fresh bleeding since, dh reckons it was just a clump of infected tissue, like a swelling...ugh, I don't know. I still feel pretty rotten. I am NEVER ill for this long, it's infuriating.

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2006 11:32

God this thread is good for my diet...

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 11:32

Glad to be of service

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2006 11:34

oops soz Greny, I suppose it would be polite to offer my sympathy - no hugs tho, for one i don't do them and secondly, you might be contagious

sugarfree · 26/09/2006 11:34

well you know what we're all going to say now don't you Mrs.IDon'tNeedTheDoctorGotTooMuchToDoControlFreakWoman?
F&Z'll have a hissy fit when she finds you here with your brians leaking out of your nostrils.

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2006 11:34

'kin 'ell, can't even get your name right! Sorry Greeny

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2006 11:35

And SugarFree just comes up trumps with the Quote of the Week!!

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 11:35

Oh f*ck me, I'd forgotten about her

Northerner · 26/09/2006 11:42

This thread is grim!

Put the expelled tissue in a flora tub and take yourself off to GP with it. They'll analyse it for you.....

Elibean · 26/09/2006 11:53

OMG, to think I was feeling queasy over possible threadworms here - snotty brain balls definitely takes precedence in yuk factor
How are you feeling, aside from (presumably) mildly shocked?!

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 11:54

Oh, I've binned it now, it was all fibrous and foul

Hang on, I'll see if I can hawk out another one

Bugsy2 · 26/09/2006 12:09

Greeny as a very long-term tonsill sufferer (had the buggers finally removed last year), I would recommend Difflam gargle & spray. You can buy it over the counter it it is much better than Vicks. Oraldene is also good if you can bear the nasty metalic taste.
Drink gallons of fluid & take Ibuprofen as well as any paracetamol based products, as it is anti-inflammatory.
Hope the antibiotics kick in soon.

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 12:15

Thanks Bugsy, that's great advice. I'm sure dh will go and get me some Difflam if I ask him. I am starting to feel a bit better "in myself" - less achey/tired, but teh throat pain is still pretty savage.

I think I might end up having mine out too. Was it very excruciating?

Bugsy2 · 26/09/2006 12:21

I found it very painful, but I got a secondary infection - ewwww!
However, as I said on another thread, I have had the best 12 months of health since having them out, than I had enjoyed for about 18 years prior to that. I'd been told to have them out for years, but was just too chicken. It really was worth it for me.

FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2006 12:47

so let me get this straight

you have just coughed up or sneezed out or otherwise expelled a lump of fibrous tissue the size of a small conker and rather than thinking that maybe you should consult a physician to see what the blazes is going on and how long you can expect to live, you have thrown it away?

GreenLumpyTonsils · 26/09/2006 12:48

Yes

FrannyandZooey · 26/09/2006 12:49

It's no good whimpering

you hear that sound?

it's the sound of me washing my hands of you
