Cow milk and pus.

Google 'cow milk pus'.
I dare you.

Milk is NOT all its cracked up to be. It's time we took this seriously.

Also I'm seeing more and more evidence to back up my hunch that the onset of my ds's type 1 diabetes is linked to his dairy intolerance.

It's time we woke up to the white stuff. Most people are in denial and won't even consider that it could be anything but a good wholesome drink.

Take your pick.

you don't sound 'defensive' to me sorrel, indeed rather reasoned.

It's a fact on mn that during heated debates words like 'guilty' 'justify' 'defensive' etc are bandied about to make a poster deny these feelings therefore making them seem like they protest too much - but some of us are not fooled.

suejonez · 26/08/2006 23:29

but so are nuts to some people. They're not trying to talk everyone who eats nuts out of it

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:29

lol sue, heres a glass of milk-free chocolate soya to your long life!

Joolstoo · 26/08/2006 23:30

its a fact some people are dairy intolerant, some have a nut allergy and so on, but I don't say any lunatic posts about banning KP

suejonez · 26/08/2006 23:30

is it low cal, as I'm on a diet?

Joolstoo · 26/08/2006 23:30

suejonez

CountTo10 · 26/08/2006 23:31

And there's the nail on the head!!!

Mhamai · 26/08/2006 23:31

Is there really a "Milk drinkers digest"? Holy Cow!

suejonez · 26/08/2006 23:32

Ooh fistfullofnappies, was that a reference to my witrty ealrier posting which everyone else studiously ignored probably because this is a "serious" thread?

this flippant streak will get me into trouble one day... at the moment it just gets mne ignored.

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 26/08/2006 23:32

My cheese on toast was fab! Have I missed anything? What else has become deadly while I was away?

suejonez · 26/08/2006 23:33

just in case you hadn't noticed - am practicing for the "COD Typing Award" for this week

CountTo10 · 26/08/2006 23:33

Well luckily not cheese!!! At least I don't think so!!!

CountessDracula · 26/08/2006 23:34

which isn't a lot better than pus let's face it

CountessDracula · 26/08/2006 23:34

(i still LOVE it)

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:35

Peanuts are pretty horrid, they go mouldy really quickly apparently, if you eat the roasted salted sort, the mould is dead though.

...there are some days, that I cant eat any of the options for main courses in our work canteen, because they all contain milk.
There are whole swathes of products in the supermarket that I cant eat. A lot of this stuff doesnt need milk, its just put in to make it fattier and more appealing.
The cows milk could be replaced by goatsmilk, and nobody would notice the slightest difference, except me, who could then eat it.

That is the situation that bugs me. And I am interested in research about osteoparosis, and the best way to prevent it of course.

sorrell · 26/08/2006 23:36

I have clearly said on this very thread that some people are lactose intolerant. I actually said that up to 100% of some racial groups are lactose intolerant, though only 2% of Danes are. This is hardly wanting 'to make like people like me (feel like we) dont exist', is it?
The lying propaganda is on the sites in the link in the OP. And it is lying propaganda. Even the UK Vegan Society distances itself from the Not Milk lot.

sorrell · 26/08/2006 23:37

I don't even like milk!

sorrell · 26/08/2006 23:37

Love peanuts though.

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 26/08/2006 23:38

Its going to be illegal sell goats milk soon isn't it? Or did I get that wrong?

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:39

Only the baby formula, BaTM.
dd2 had it and is huge. Hopefully they can adjust the suplements and get it back into the shops.

TooTicky · 26/08/2006 23:40

It just seems, Sorrell, that you are very quick to poo-pooh anything anti-dairy.
So, either you are being defensive, or you work for the milk marketing board, or you just hate cows and want them to suffer.
I'm too tired for a high-brow argument.

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:42

well, yes, it is actually sorrel. you seem to be so keen on milk that you regard any attempt to get people to drink less milk (and replace it with stuff that people like me can eat) as being aligned with the terrorists.

Maybe thats not what you really think, but its the impression you give.

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 26/08/2006 23:42

Oh I see, I was brought up on goats milk apparently, my nan brought me so god knows what I was fed, I'm alright now tho! Well imo

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:44

I grew up in a dairy farming area, and I think some dairy farming practise is immoral. Remember seeing cows treading on their udders as they were going to be milked, now Ive breastfed it looks even more uncomfortable.

fistfullofnappies · 26/08/2006 23:45

Goats milk more digestible than cows milk.
