Apologies for the bingo reference, couldn't think of a witty title but the other thread is very nearly full.

In honour of our new thread I have piled extra apple pudding on the trolley so tuck in :)

Oh dear Gigs, Mr Gigs certainly earned his stripes with tht one. Reminds me a little of when I lived with mum and dad and a boil in the dogs bum burst dring a dinner party!

Hope chemo s ok tomorrow, plus everyone else on the chemo train.

Just a quick Hi from me, nothing to report.

Knittingnovice · 26/11/2013 00:18

betsy my whole cancer train has been rapid this time round. From diagnosis on 15th October, 9 days later chemo started. Plus my chemo is different this time round so I'm on a 2 week schedule rather than 3 which is what I had first time round. It is really lucky both times that I have no chemo week between Christmas and new year, but hopefully last one on 2nd jean, then a scan to check whether tumours have shrunk or need more chemo thrown at them. I'm kind of in limbo until then.

BetsyBoop · 26/11/2013 08:06

ewee, oh dear, poor Mr Gigs Shock. He is obviously a diamond :)

The standing in the shower bit reminded me of when my waters went with DD. (I had already been told I was carrying a lot of water and DD's head never did engage so there was nothing to form a "plug") Got up at 3am needing the loo, as I crossed the landing I felt a dribble down my leg. Just as I was trying to work out (in my sleepy stupor) if I was suddenly incontinent, I had a sixth sense "something" was about to happen and dived in the shower - with a millisecond to spare - what an eruption! No word of a lie, I stood there a good five minutes with water pouring out at great force. Thank goodness that didn't happen in the bed! Grin

knitting - good you have a week off for Christmas :) Fingers crossed the scans show the chemo has been doing a good job.

Gigondas · 26/11/2013 08:21

Grin At waters breaking - I had to phone a friend to ask if she thought it might be waters going or I was just wetting myself. At least you had the proper experience like in the films.

Waiting for ocado man, then got my lovely reflexology lady coming so will be calm and woo like for chemo this afternoon. Food there is lovely so they better not run out of cake.

malteserzz · 26/11/2013 08:32

Lol at waters breaking and seroma stories!
Gigs hope the chemo goes ok and you don't get many SEs

malteserzz · 26/11/2013 08:38

Has big gigs earned her cat back yet ? Grin
Not seen really on here for a few days are you ok really, has your face cleared up ?

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 26/11/2013 09:10

Had Chemo #3 yesterday. Only one more AC to go now. Yay.
I'm feeling good now. I felt a bit queasy and very tired last night, so went to bed for 9am Took a Larezepan and had a good nights sleep. Been up to see girls out to school (nice neighbour that brings them in tells me to stay in bed and have the kids drop the key back through the door. But they faff about so much in the morning I don't trust them to be ready and watching for their lift).

But I'm heading back to bed now for a little snooze.

knitting I've a chemo free christmas too. I'm on three week cycle, and next one on the Monday of week kids get school holidays, and will start Tax on the Monday they go back to school. I feel so lucky my chemo schedule fell on the best times for midterm break and Christmas. Mid-term spring break not soo good. Have chemo on the first day of it.

Good luck to all having chemo this week. And to all of you doing Christmas shopping too!

BetsyBoop · 26/11/2013 09:20

At least you had the proper experience like in the films.

nah, in films/on TV they just go "ooh" and show a tiny little puddle - I ended up with Niagra falls! Complete unprepared for that. It was very surreal at the time. (If you have ever see a cow peeing, it was that times 10 Shock )

enjoy your woo gigs
enjoy your snooze mom

got any plans today malt - you sound like you are doing a lot better?

BetsyBoop · 26/11/2013 10:24

Have just treated myself to a cardi, jeans and a top from Long Tall Sally - well they sent me a 30% off and free delivery coupon, so it would be rude not too Grin

kitkat1967 · 26/11/2013 10:34

Just had my final bloods taken Grin. Feel really well today so whilst i'm not looking forward to the weekend I know this time next week I will be on the up Smile Brew

Off to do a bit more xmas shopping today (but have to get back for work meeting at 2pm grrr....). Yesterday was such a success I thought I would go back as 1 or 2 more things to get plus I can have a mooch as pressure is off now. Amazing how busy it was yesterday though - def want to get finished as our shopping mall gets gridlocked in December so won't be going then.

Goodluck with your chemo/bone stuff today Gigs.

and guess what Malt - chemo nurse advised against booking a holiday Sad until my surgery is actully done - guess I will have to be happy with planning (your suggestions of the canaries looks good BTW).

foofooyeah · 26/11/2013 11:16

They wanted to do my last chemo on christmas eve!! I said No, No No.

So got it on New Years eve instead, a fitting end to the year Grin

Today I have inadvertently painted the bannister, was only supposed to be doing the bedroom door but I do get carried away when I have a paint brush in my hand.

No one home today so lovely and peaceful

HerNextDoorAt21 · 26/11/2013 11:54

hi kikat I am having a reduction on the current good side (E cup) and a tissue expander/implant put behind my now deflated recontracted LD flap boob (atm about a b cup) to match them up.

BetsyBoop · 26/11/2013 13:37

My histology report is finally here...

Left breast (the prophylactic one) - all clear. Five nodes came away with the breast tissue, also all clear. (As was expected as earlier MRI scan had indicated all clear in this breast.)

Right breast - the original (pre-chemo) MRI scan had indicated a main tumour of 70mm and two satellite tumours of 25mm & 20mm respectively. Biopsy indicated Lobular ER+ HER2-.

The histology indicated only the remains of the larger tumour could be found, measuring 35mm. It is grade 3 Lobular cancer, ER+, HER2-. Fifteen lymph nodes were removed and the remains of cancer were only found in one of the nodes.

So all in all, as the BCN said, that's pretty positive, considering my starting position. I might be drawing my penison yet...!

Knittingnovice · 26/11/2013 14:10

Ohh, Betsy another tall girl, I think I am keeping them in business at the moment. I daren't look at the ccard bill. Having dropped from a size 16 to a size 8/10 due to my cancer I have had to invest in clothes that fit. My chemo takes place in Guildford so I have had a couple of visits to the store between onc appointments and chemo starting (I have a very long day for chemo). And as they closed Brighton which was my local store DH was happy.

foofooyeah · 26/11/2013 14:17

That all sounds good and positive betsy

knitting normally I would say well done on the weightloss but it really doesn't seem appropriate.

I'm not a tall girl .... I'm a short arse Grin

Knittingnovice · 26/11/2013 14:25

I know foo foo, people that don't know my history etc comment on how well I look, all I see when I look in the mirror is a sick person. I know I can pull of tall and skinny, but I was more comfortable at a 14, as I am now underweight. The ironic thing is I have never bothered about my weight, but it is all I can focus on at the moment as to whether I have lost more or not.

malteserzz · 26/11/2013 14:53

I'm a short arse too foo foo Smile
Was meant to be going for pre op checks tomorrow but just had a call and they've moved it to next week because they've got an urgent case, she assured me op will still be fine for 9 th I hope so !

amberlight · 26/11/2013 15:06

Betsy, hurrah re report!!!
Hello all. Reading through and waving.

Tiny100 · 26/11/2013 15:30

Another short arse here too - hence my user name. (Although I am not a 100 years old in case you were wondering!)

Glad you are positive about your report Betsy, it must be a weight off of your mind.

Hello Amber, hope you have been okay?

Gigondas · 26/11/2013 20:20

Yay betseySmile.

I know what you mean knitting- I was bloody delighted when I put weight back on when I took steroids.

Chemo went ok but feel tired (could be 4am wake up - she will be up to distract aunty malt if keeps this up). Hope that no se tomorrow. Of course, the real medical drama here is mr gigs and his man flu . He is sniffing bravely on sofa next to me.

kitkat1967 · 26/11/2013 22:46

Agghhh.. I have gone itchy mad - it started at the weekend but has got much worse now. Also been warned to expect a phone call from my onc as I have tight feeling around my ribs which he is not happy about (apparently). Typical when I have only 1 more dose to do - fingers crossed there is no drama tomorrow.

Fingers crossed you get some sleep gigs. Aunty malt is expecting mini so you can post her anytime - the Posties start work early so that should suit mini!!!

malteserzz · 26/11/2013 22:50

What a pain Kitkat hope it turns out to be nothing, I had itching a couple of cycles ago. Shame you can't book a holiday Hmm but you can still plan where you'd like to go
Still waiting for my mini gigs parcel
Hope everyone sleeps ok

Gigondas · 26/11/2013 23:13

Hope you like peppa and tele tubbies not to mention badgers Wink.

I have itchy skin too -aqueous cream helped.

Uh oh- I hear Mini Hmm, just as steroids seemed to be wearing off.

malteserzz · 27/11/2013 08:05

Hope she let you get some sleep gigs, how's mr gigs and his man flu ? Peppa pig much better than the Simpsons that ds likes !

Good luck Kitkat for chemo today last one woo hoo!

How are you Betsy ? I am doing a lot better thanks, sleeping better and I'm sure that really helps. Going out and about too though I'm still really tired and by the end if the day have to drag myself up to bed !

Morning to everyone else Smile

Au79 · 27/11/2013 08:23

Hi chaps

I wanted to salute you all and draw on your wisdom. I had a bad routine first 50+ scan, then last week so many biopsies I lost count. Results this afternoon.

Is there a thread for potential newbies in waiting for results? Any advice for coping? How to tell folks if news is bad? DH kids aged parents boss?

Hopefully will get all clear. Good luck to all
