Apologies for the bingo reference, couldn't think of a witty title but the other thread is very nearly full.

In honour of our new thread I have piled extra apple pudding on the trolley so tuck in :)

Hi basket, thank you for thinking of me. I'm still struggling with uni but I'm sure it'll fall into place at some point! How are you getting on?

handbags how kind, enjoy your cake Cake bugger about hair though. Honestly I'm sure plenty of the parents will look stupid anyway and I'm sure you will look lovely in a hat.

gigs hope your dad's visit went okay. Good news about shoulder, I hope the exercises help.

marshy glad you're finding things to cheer you up. Be kind to yourself. It takes a while to feel normal again. I expected to just spring back after treatment, especially once I'd had my first year all clear but side effects are still dragging on and I feel like I'm in limbo now as don't have cancer but I'm not how I was before. I hope the pain improves soon as that must be wearing :(

Sorry not to post very often, I just cannot keep up with the thread and as most of you have breast cancer I don't really have much to offer in terms of advice I'm afraid! I am still thinking of you all and hoping everyone is getting on well with their treatments etc. x

Waving at Ruby.

Foofoo you're right, I shall never resort to those dreadful comedy hats the guys wear to rugby. Yuk. I shall henceforth be known as the mum who wears really cool hats at least that's what I'm hoping.

topsyturner · 22/11/2013 19:52

Yoo hoo !
I'm here , just busy chez Topsy right now .

Been to see the surgeon today at the reconstruction clinic .
She granted me a full 2 1/2 minutes of her time (including undressing and redressing) and told me I am too fat for re con Hmm

Oh well ...

Gigondas · 22/11/2013 20:05

Hi topsy!

poundland is a favourite of mine (and big gigs) but I did draw the line when mr gigs suggested an anniversary present from thereGrin.

A little something for the weekend
enjoy

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 20:09

Be still my beating heart

Gigondas · 22/11/2013 21:02

Was worried would make people nauseous Grin.

topsyturner · 22/11/2013 22:25

Gigs stop with the bloody Cliff pictures !
(Actually , a Bloody Cliff picture might be nice .....)

malteserzz · 23/11/2013 11:34

Laughing at the cliff pics !
Hope everyone having a nice Saturday, I had a great night out last night shattered today though so just chilling I think Smile

Gigondas · 23/11/2013 12:18

What was that about cliff pics? more you say

Lazy day here- been to toddler singing xmas concert. Very avoidable as too crowded and too long- if it's meant to be mainly for under 5s is there any need for the mums choir to have a slot? You can imagine how bored kids got.

Big gig in trouble as teacher said she hasn't been working in class (again! This was an issue last year). So told her no outing this afternoon and have confiscated her sylvanian family cat til has done her work. She isn't very happy Grin.

malteserzz · 23/11/2013 13:33

Love his pose shall we push him in ?
Remember you saying about big gig not getting in with her work before, I had to laugh at you confiscating her cat though !

topsyturner · 23/11/2013 15:04

And still , I click on them ...Shock

Gigs I can't believe that they get so heavy with little ones at school .
She's still so young !

Gigondas · 23/11/2013 15:51

I know topsy! But the drawback of her school is it only goes up to 7 and most of schools round here do testing for entry at 7. it's pretty hard to get a place at state school here nearby as there aren't enough places in the borough.

malteserzz · 23/11/2013 16:54

I've heard it's a nightmare getting into schools in London Hmm then will she have to change again at 11 ?

Dh gone to his school reunion, so Chinese and X factor for me and the dc tonight Smile

Gigondas · 23/11/2013 17:52

It is malt -our borough has run short on places for years (pigeons knows more than I do as has been involved in questioning council over this).

Depending on which school she goes to , she may have to move at 11. Must say one good thing about this bastard disease is I worry a lot less about this kind of thing!

It's takeaway and tv night here .

jchocchip · 24/11/2013 07:34

We are looking round 6th forms for dd2. Not quite as stressful this year. Next year I guess we should do uni open days... we have a shortfall of primary places up here too. I notice the appeals going on at work.

malteserzz · 24/11/2013 16:13

Hope everyone's ok and having a nice Sunday Smile

BetsyBoop · 24/11/2013 18:41

bugger, I think I've developed a seroma on the bad boob side :( (either that or my body is attempting to grow another boob Grin )

I'll phone the BCN first thing tomorrow, but in the mean time any top tips gratefully received :)

Tiny100 · 24/11/2013 18:54

Sorry Betsy, I don't even know what seroma is. Guessing it is not pleasant, hope someone is along soon to help.

Hope your okay now Malt? (Just reading your posts from a couple of days ago.)

Tiny100 · 24/11/2013 18:55

PS: It is very quiet here - is everyone else at a party that I know nothing about? Grin

malteserzz · 24/11/2013 19:00

Betsy think you just have to phone and get it drained don't you, also heard that they can happen when you're doing too much so put your feet up!
It's a build up of fluid tiny I'm much better now thank you going to try and enjoy these 2 weeks before my op and get some Christmas shopping done, how are you ?

Tiny100 · 24/11/2013 19:20

Poor you Betsy - hope the hospital can sort you out first thing.

Glad your feeling better Malt. Is the op the final part of your treatment, or does the findings of the op determine that?

I think it is interesting to know that just because you reach the end of a part of your treatment that you don't necessary feel elated, far from it. I went to dinner with my friends the other day and they were saying "this time in a year's time we will be cracking open the champagne and celebrating" and I kept thinking what if it doesn't go okay, and even if it does, I will be scared/worried for a long, long time after.

Gigondas · 24/11/2013 19:44

Betsey aside from rest and ring Bcn nothing to do. Watch out for fever symptoms as may mean seroma infected and you need abs.

Tiny you are right that fear doesn't go but eventually you learn to live with this new reality.

Nice restful weekend here .

malteserzz · 24/11/2013 19:47

I know what you mean I think unless people have been through it they don't understand, don't think the worry will ever go away
After the nodes are removed they'll analyse them and if a lot do contain cancer they'll check if it's spread, obviously that's the bit that worries me. If not it will just be radiotherapy

BetsyBoop · 24/11/2013 21:24

I've had so many people say "once all this is behind you...xxx..." or "once you get the all clear...xxx..." - They just don't understand you can never leave it behind you, never get an "all clear", the best you ever get is NED.

chest and armpit now feeling really tight and aching from the pressure, will definitely be ringing BCN in the morning...

Tiny100 · 24/11/2013 21:54

Had a nice restful weekend too, or as restful as it can be with a 2 year old getting up impossibly early.

Decided to only do children's gifts this Xmas. It makes shopping easier for me and I will hopefully avoid receiving a dozen copies of the Jennifer Saunders biography - cos she had BC too! Grin

I know how much of a worry that can be Malt. I have BC in my lymph nodes and the scan's have also picked up a hot spot on my shoulder. I can't stop worrying about it - then I worry that I am not having a positive attitude in order to fight it - it is one bloody long and constant worry. I will be having more scans in a few months time to see if it changes in any way shape or form.
