Apologies for the bingo reference, couldn't think of a witty title but the other thread is very nearly full.

In honour of our new thread I have piled extra apple pudding on the trolley so tuck in :)

I know lily- it's just dull now and taking up time that would be better spent on Helen turning bunny boiler!

Good you are feeling bit more normal betsey.

malteserzz · 21/11/2013 11:08

I did sleep better last night thank you
Just waiting for my friend to pick me up and were going for a little walk round the shops. Dd who is 14 said to me mum you're going to be tired whether you go out or not so you may as we'll go out, guess she's got a point !
Shame about the snow globe gigs

reallyreallyworried · 21/11/2013 11:42

malt I think your daughter speaks wise words! I know I find I'm more tired when I sit around doing nothing! You might also find some nice company and fresh air helps you sleep better tonight! Worth a try.

So my glorious teenage spots have decided to cause more issues! I woke this morning with a swollen face! God I look like crap! Luckily my charges are totally oblivious Smile it's just me that feels that everyone is staring at me! So off to doc's this afternoon! That'll teach me to think I was going to be able to breeze through this with no added problems!

Feeling very sorry for myself! But I suppose its just one of those things! Don't think I could of done anything to prevent it! Sad xx

foofooyeah · 21/11/2013 13:50

I now have an urge to go out and buy a snow globe.

malteserzz · 21/11/2013 14:37

Really am sorry about your face hope the doctor is helpful. Chemo does seem to give you these random things but it doesn't mean you will get the same every cycle, hope you're feeling a bit better now

Have been shopping and for lunch Smile feel a bit more human. Bought a nice cheery red jumper with snowflakes on, resisted the light up Christmas one! And walked past the sample table a few times in m and s to taste their Buck's Fizz !

malteserzz · 21/11/2013 15:23

Just found something out, you may all know this already but just in case. The nasal flu vaccine for children is a live vaccine so if you are having chemo you shouldn't be around children who have had it for a couple of weeks as they could give you flu. If you've had the flu jab at least a week before then it's ok
I had signed the forms for ds to have it at school ( were in a trial area and it's being offered to all children ) but didn't realise this, so have just booked my flu jab tomorrow as he's having it at school next Friday !

Marshy · 21/11/2013 16:19

Afternoon everyone,

I have had a nice day today and I think I could get used to not being at work! Felt a bit down on Tuesday. I think the euphoria of good results had worn off a bit and I was feeling sorry for myself with my scabby plastic boob and flaming sore armpit which just seems to be getting worse and spreading down my arm Sad

Anyway, decided to get a grip, so booked a pedicure at home, which was lovely, and invited some friends round, so I have had company yesterday, today and again tomorrow Smile I may venture to the gym next week, just to sit and faff around on the bike probably, but at least I'll be there.

I'm just sitting in the cosy kitchen now, with the new kitten asleep on the chair and some food cooking for later. And thank goodness the kitten has figured out how to use the litter tray! That has made me very happy.

Glad you're feeling a bit better malt and betsy and I hope you get your problem sorted with the gp really. Hi to foofoo and gigs. I'm quite fancying a snow globe also.... Hope everyone else is doing ok.

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 00:40

marshy glad you had a god day. Sometimes you just ave to pck yourself up and company is always god. New kitten sounds lovely. Now the weather is colder I have my old cat permanently attached to me Grin

Toying with the idea of rejoining the gym as I am putting on weight and was fa to tart with. Shall toy with the idea a little longer ....

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 00:41

Ha ha ha, lots of missing letters in that post. Time for bed I think.

reallyreallyworried · 22/11/2013 07:17

Thanks malt and marshy I have antibiotics and antibiotic cream, so fingers crossed that will help. Now all I need to do is stop feeling sorry for myself. This has really knocked my confidence Sad

Sounds like you both had a nice day yesterday Smile that's lovely to hear. Hope you both have another good one today xxxxxx

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 07:22

really good morning. Sometimes it's the smaller unexpected things that can knock our confidence. Give the antibiotics a couple of days and hopefully you should start feeling better soon.

I'm treating myself to returning to bed once school run is done.

malteserzz · 22/11/2013 07:29

Morning
Really I hope the antibiotics do their thing, have a good day at work today
Foo foo enjoy going back to bed, I would join you but got a hospital appointment. Am having a lie in now though while dh gets up with the dc , he's working at home so he can come with me

Gigondas · 22/11/2013 07:42

Am also lieing in bed foo. Physio appointment went well - oddly my arm more mobile since he last saw me. Apparently this will be cis I have sorted my bad back and you beds strong back as shoulder movement linked to how strong lower body is. Have bunch of exercises to do that need to build up but I feel happier that can do something.

Back feeling bit stiff tho - dh reckons it's cos I overdid shopping. He bright me back lots of lovely xmas decorations , new cosy pyjamas and new make up plus tons of Disney tat for kids.

got my dad visiting later- have a bit of a tense relationship ( fell out earlier this year when he overstepped mArk and stressed me out when I was in hospital) so mixed feelings on this .

Hope your appointment goes well malt.

jchocchip · 22/11/2013 08:04

Morning peeps! Have day off, didn't sleep well so not up yet. Not been here for ages, have read back a little but can't keep up.
Good luck for the appointment today malt.
Hurray for progress with the physio, gigs. Hope visit with your dad is ok later.
My day off is to go out for lunch with auntie for her 80th. Meeting up with uncles and aunties and one of her childhood friends and her daughter. Mixed feelings as my Mum can't come being housebound and miles away. And I should make a cake but a bit Hmm about taking cake to restaurant...

weebarra · 22/11/2013 10:36

Morning all, hope your dad's visit goes ok, gigs, and hope the anti-bs kick in really.
All good here, sitting with laptop and snoozing baby doing some xmas shopping. Taking the DSs to a storytelling event tomorrow and then Country Living xmas fair on Sunday - may as well make the most of the time I'm feeling normal!
Next chemo on wed, not looking forward to it, but has to be done. BCN phoned and told me that MX likely to be in May, 4 weeks after last chemo.

malteserzz · 22/11/2013 14:59

Gigs glad dh got lots of nice goodies Smile
Jchoc good to hear from you, enjoy your day with the family shame your mum can't make it though
Weebarra chemo will be over before you know it, mine went quicker than I thought it would hope your having a good day

Saw my surgeon, node clearance booked for 9 th december, not too worried about it but nervous sbout the results when I find out how many nodes were/ are cancerous. Scary stuff

BasketzatDawn · 22/11/2013 15:09

Just wondering, have seen nothing from MAS for a while. Is she okay? I hope so. And Ruby and Topsy? I hope Ruby getting on well at uni, now she's had time to settle in. Best wishes to all, Basketzzzz

handbagsatdawn · 22/11/2013 15:17

Hiya, Malt and Weebarra - good to hear you have surgery dates to plan to, good to be aware and be able to plan.

Really - bugger to spots. Hope the drugs clear them up.

Well day 3 after chemo here, knackered but not vomiting this time thank goodness, but am still keeping up with the anti-vom meds. Have just finished last steroid, and won't take any Lorazepam tonight as want to be non-zombie-fied for the weekend. Hair starting to come out slightly now, in spite of wearing the cold cap. Ah well, hat, hats and more hats on my Christmas list.

Lovely neighbour has just deposited a large slab of chocolate cake outside my door, so have just washed my steroids down with that. Yum.

My life feels so very un-exciting this week, cannot wait to get my energy back ASAP and get out of the house!!!

malteserzz · 22/11/2013 15:18

They're all on FB Basketzatdawn and fine, some people don't post as much on here now as they find it difficult to keep up with the thread

handbagsatdawn · 22/11/2013 15:18

Yes I've been wondering about MAS too - hope she's ok.

handbagsatdawn · 22/11/2013 15:19

Ah, good to hear Malt x

malteserzz · 22/11/2013 15:20

Handbags x posted with you, yay to not vomiting and chocolate cake, not so yay to hair coming out I found that really hard used to find hair all over the house and down my bra !

handbagsatdawn · 22/11/2013 16:06

Yup, just showered and its really truly going now. Both Dds have their school fairs / carol concerts etc next weekend and i was desperately hoping not to be bald by then, particularly as dd2 at new school. Never mind, I shall just have to be the mum in stupid hat.

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 16:51

handbag just take comfort in the act that you will always look better in a hat than those twitty men who wear comedy festival hats to rugby. God the station was full of them last Sat. I like rugby and I like men, but put the 2 together with a stupid hat and I get a bit stabby.

foofooyeah · 22/11/2013 16:53

Didn't got back to bed, went to pound land !! It was fan bloody tastic. Also was taken out for breakfast which is always nice.
