Hello all! New thread as we have almost filled the last one. Help yourself to chocolate chip muffins from the trolley! :)

figgy !! so lovely to see you and glad that dh is making a good recovery.
jchoc - horrid that you can't run as I know it's v important to you.
Good vibes whizzing to the amber family xxx

BetsyBoop · 08/08/2013 09:48

Sorry, I've been hopeless at keeping up with this thread, been making the most of feeling well and doing lots of stuff with the kids, then falling asleep on the sofa in the evening Grin

amber thinking of you and mramber today, hopefully all is fine, but a good thing they are so on the ball as early treatment is best.

topsy and trice (and anyone else I've missed) thinking of you while you wait for results, waiting sucks

ruby ditto what everyone else has said, you are amazing and (without wanting to sound patronising, so I hope you take this the right way :) ) you are coping a lot better than I think I would have been able to at your age.

kitkat hope you are feeling a lot better now?

jchoc hope your foot is soon mended

gigs - it's normal to be a bit nervous about your op, it would be wierd if you weren't TBH!

lily breast MRIs are definitely not the most comfortable/dignified of things are they? Grin - looking forward to another one soon to check my progress not

malt - Good friends will "play" things however you want to handle things, so don't shut yourself away. I've got a pact with my friends that they don't mention "it" unless I do first, as then I can feel "normal" and not feel like cancer is is shrouding everything I do/say. (This is where my blog helps as they can get their updates from there without having to ask and me having to repeat things over and over)

Still no news fron emin?

and to copt smee hnd mas kurri figgy nj picture and everyone else I've missed (damn chemo brain)

Off for onc appt and chemo no 3 later, so I may be MIA for a couple of days if last cycle is anything to go by...

and I'll round off by saying - BASTARD CANCER, IT'S JUST NOT FAIR

BetsyBoop · 08/08/2013 12:54

well that killed the thread, whoops Grin

malteserzz · 08/08/2013 13:17

Have you been for your chemo yet Betsy ? Good luck if not

BetsyBoop · 08/08/2013 13:34

not yet malt, onc at 3pm, chemo at 4pm this time. Just want to get on with it rather than thinking about it grr...

amberlight · 08/08/2013 13:56

Mr Consultant is happy with DH and has sent us home. Huge huge relief. We didn't want another repeat of those fun two weeks in 2009 with him in intensive care, for sure.

I shall leave out champagne and celebratory cake for people. Especially for any getting through next bit of chemo etc.

malteserzz · 08/08/2013 14:34

That is wonderful news amber really pleased for you Smile
Betsy what a pain having to wait till late afternoon, quite pleased mine so far have been 845 even though it does mean an early start !

HerNextDoorAt21 · 08/08/2013 14:39

Great news amber - I hope we get simlar good news very soon for my DH ..... it's giving topsy someone else's results to worry about while she concocts more diagnoses for herself .... I think her armpit cancer is my favourite yet !

Lilymaid · 08/08/2013 14:40

Chemo 3/8 now over. Got a nice light lunch at the hospital with a perfectly ripe avocado pear and prawns and salad followed by a bowl of jelly!
Still aching on the ribs after the breast MRI.
Off out with friends this evening so will have a nice snooze this afternoon stupefied by daytime TV.
Good luck to Betsy this afternoon with Onc and chemo.

kitkat1967 · 08/08/2013 14:51

Good news Amber - one less thing to worry about.

well done Lily - you're counting down. I have a repeat MRI next week so will be doing the boobs in cups thing myself. I have to have pieces of foam shoved in with my boobs as they do do not fill the cups enough Blush

Good luck Betsy - hope you get plenty of meds to see you though.

I'm still nauseous but had an interesting conversation with the nurse today who told me drinking alcohol (in general) makes your body used to toxins so the fact that i do not drink at all (just never liked it) will be contributing to my problems. So much for having such pure insides!!
Anyway - he said I need more meds next time plus I need them for much longer - hopefully onc will agree.

HerNextDoorAt21 · 08/08/2013 14:58

OMG kit kat sorry you are feeling nauseous still but drinking alcohol is a good thing - now we know why tipsy sailed through her chemo then ! hahahaha

malteserzz · 08/08/2013 15:07

Knew all my years of drinking would come in handy one day Grin

Lilymaid · 08/08/2013 15:07

"drinking alcohol (in general) makes your body used to toxins "
Thanks for the info, kitkat, so there should be no problem with me and chemo!
Repeat MRI breast scan .... aargh, Nooooooo!!

kitkat1967 · 08/08/2013 15:13

and guess what - there is no point in starting now - too late.

Hubby will be Ok if ever needs chemo though.

Copthallresident · 08/08/2013 15:27

kitkat I drink like a fish moderately and still felt like I had a bad hangover after every chemo so I am not sure pickling your insides is an effective defence Hmm But glad you are being offered more drugs.

Amber really pleased for you, what a relief

Lily Have a nice snooze

Hope gigs is enjoying lots of good northern things

DH driving me mad, constantly needs advice and steerage, just had lovely lunch with friend, but interrupted by three phone calls Shock It is dawning on me that when Little Copt goes back to school I won't be able to get back in my routine because I will still have a child at home.............

topsyturner · 08/08/2013 15:38

My name is Tipsy and it has been 4 days since I last drank alcohol ...
Grin

Gigondas · 08/08/2013 16:06

GrinGrinGrin For Mr amber - that's great news.

Figgy lovely to hear from you -sending healing vibes to mr figgy too and for mr hnd.

I will sit on paranoia box for you topsy-are you diagnosing any and every breath for symptoms?

Gigondas · 08/08/2013 16:07

4 days ??! Have they run dry round your way?

Have become somewhat addicted to Wine as was off it due to painkillers for a while.

Gigondas · 08/08/2013 16:11

GrinAt Mr Copt. I did laugh at his dinner menu - masterchef is mixed blessing. I am with mas on preferring bake off.

Having lovely day - off to York minster.

Copthallresident · 08/08/2013 17:03

It's got worse, popped out on a few errands and discover he has fallen in the pond with the pressure washer trying to clean the patio, at least it didn't electrocute the fish...

I am Copt and I haven't even managed 4 hours since Wine Come on Tipsy catch up!

kitkat1967 · 08/08/2013 17:39

golly i've set you all off now - have some (more) Wine for your health.

I'm loving all the little Gigs photos - they are so cute and look like they're having a great time.

Worried about Mr Copt though - sounds like he's going to keep us entertained for some time...

SparkleRainbow · 08/08/2013 17:53

I'm sparkle and I'm having aWine now!

topsyturner · 08/08/2013 18:21

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh !!!!
I have no wine in the house !!!!

Holds out Wine in full begging mode ...

topsyturner · 08/08/2013 18:21
