Dd is making willy wonka bars which involve chocolate rice crispies and crunchies!
Still really tired been to mums for lunch and walked over to the shop which was only 10 mins or so each way. Better than a few days ago though so hopefully will keep getting more energy each day
Hope everyone's having a good weekend Smile

trice · 03/08/2013 20:02

I got all spring cleany today, my ceilings were all cobwebby so I got the feather duster out. Did the mould in the shower too. Can i have a gold star?

I used to spend hours in Birmingham new Street station travelling for work. (Any change has to be an improvement) . I used to meet the strangest people, I seem to attract little old ladies with stories to tell. I used to look forward to being one of them, "when I am old I shall wear purple" style. I shall have to bring forward the bad behaviour.

jchocchip · 03/08/2013 23:08

Oh I'm not waiting to wear purple - lovely colour :~)
station seemed cleaner and brighter - it always reminded me of a cellar with pigeons before...

I was talking to a random chap on the bus today - he told me his house number and life story and I set the time on his phone for him, bless.
Have brought a Wine to bed with me. Felt like I had earned it... Grin

malteserzz · 04/08/2013 01:05

Good for you Jchoc hope you enjoyed your wine :)
Trice well done for the spring cleaning I never get that urge! I agree am very envious of old people now

Off to Granny's soon .
See you all later x

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 10:27

kitkat1967 · 04/08/2013 10:41

morning all. I spent most of yesterday in a post-chemo stupor - hardly awake at all and def not dressed!!
Better today - have braved a hair wash - got an almost bald patch on the top but the rest is hanging in.

Malt - I see you have been up all night - you must be exhausted - take it easy today.

I've read all the posts but not really processed them but it seems that lots are on hols this weekend/week so hope you are all having a good time.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 04/08/2013 11:50

Trice I too got to grips with my mould, satisfying stuff watching the cleaning stuff magic it away, unfortunately it also magicked the dye away on my trousers and T shirt which now have pink blobs on them where I spilt it, it had to be pink didn't it?

kitkat I remember the days I barely made it out of bed, you just have to go with the flow. Glad the hair is hanging on.

I hope the northern sojourners are having a good time., and smee in her shed.

I am on last day of tour guide duty today, been lovely catching up with old friend. Niece arriving in a few days time so will be back on duty.... And have good friend from HK lurking in vicinity who makes a point of ringing me and saying can she stay, she will be at the door in 5 mins. She tried it when we were in Yorkshire so could be any minute.... Little Copt going off to stay with Big Copt in student squalor tonight so will have taste of empty nest Sad but can't see her coping with the loo for long Shock

Gigondas · 04/08/2013 16:26

Marking spot from York- haven't seen any pink sparkly runners tho were out early to beach.

Well done trice on spring clean and kitkat hair loss doesn't sound too bad. Copt I admire your dedication to tourism.

Am lurking and will check in when I can but having a lovely time.

amberlight · 04/08/2013 18:24

Thanks re 25th anniversary event.
Waving to all. Bit eek elsewhere on mumsnet right now so not here much. Nothing anyone here has done.

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 18:26

Glad you are having a good time gigs.
On a train an hour later than planned due to puncture on bike so mitssed local train and had to catch bus :( but have a seat so mustn't :grumble. Can only charge phone from computer when it is open as only have usb. Think I will do some crochet and doze. I'm very stressy on the run up to my two year mamogram/ check. May need to get the paranoia box out...

amberlight · 04/08/2013 18:27

ha...will happily sit on paranoia box with you...

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 18:30

Xpost waves to amber. 25 seems very grown up, well done! ignores fact got married myself in 89

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 18:33

Xpost again thanks amber :)

trice · 04/08/2013 19:10

I have a ct scan at 8am tomorrow. I have been like a Cat on a hot tin roof all day.

I hate hospitals. I had two home births to avoid the places. I hate being touched by strangers (especially when they are sticking needles in me). I hate the fact that they are looking at cancer in my lungs. I hate having to wait a week for the results. And I hate getting the results.

Poo. Stupid disease.

Gigondas · 04/08/2013 19:35

Trice - cant say anything other than yep I hear you and its shit. I have got better at getting actual scan done but results still horrendous.

My only slim comfort is that it is just one diagnostic tool to help target the medicine. what you need to hold onto is how you feel and fact you are still alive. you don't need a scan to bring you down when you are out of your wheel chair and doing 5000 steps a day.

Sod the scan and drs but I think that shows you are doing rather well at living with this.

In which spirit cos I can actually walk and am on holiday tesco York , I am having a Wine despite the painkillers .

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 19:36

Hugs ((trice)) I hate hospitals too. Waiting is a horrible time. Will light a candle for you tomorrow.

jchocchip · 04/08/2013 19:52

Wonder if I could stay on the train and come nick gigs Wine...

Gigondas · 04/08/2013 20:14

Wine Is open and there is a spare bed in the kids room jchoc.
