I give up - it's in chat under are all the women in the apprentice awful ?

smee · 06/06/2013 10:46

Gig, I seem to be going to Eurodisney as Aussie friends are coming over and me and DS are going to join them for a mad dash of a day at the start of September. Any tips to avoid madness? Have never been..

Copthallresident · 06/06/2013 11:00

Isn't the whole point of Cliff to put you off sex for life and therefore be as asexual as he allegedly is...just worked for me anyway. Thanks a bunch gigs Saw him once at Wimbledon, very strange looking indeed, skin looks like it has been subjected tanning as in leather rather than sun, or possibly that he's been mummified, before that picture was photoshopped he actually looked like this (warning don't look if you are squeamish about mummy's) www.google.co.uk/search?q=british+museum+mummy+red&client=safari&hl=en-gb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=zFywUazoDKGr0AXIjICYCQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=672#biv=i%7C1%3Bd%7CD12NQTPfqWkZqM%3A

Without giving anything away re Apprentice turns out at least three of them are human after all, and I might actually give them a job.......Shock

Arf at cliff the undead. I find it a mystery why he is still popular.

Smee- have friends got kids and how old? Do they want to stay at Disney or day trip from Paris?

smee · 06/06/2013 11:46

Gig they've got one girl who'll be 10 then there's my son who's 9. They've booked train tickets and a v.cheap hotel, so we'll all stay o/night near the park then have a whole day inside but no more. I've said I'll sort the entry tickets, but am a bit baffled as there seem to be choices, so one park/ two parks, etc. Any tips v.welcome!

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 11:55

Ah ok. You need to take a view on what kids will like best - there is the main Disney park or the studios.

Main park is the Disney characters (mickey, princesses, Peter Pan, pirates, eye) . We almost always go just here as loads to do and IMO best rides.

If you had to do one park this would be it. You may want to buy fast pass which allows access on busier rides but that is mainly for bigger roller coasters which may not be good for 9/10. The only mainstream ride that this includes as I remember is Peter Pan flight if kids like that.

Food is awful and expensive so big breakfast and maybe picnic outside (you aren't allowed in park tho I do see people sneaking stuff on benches - just dont make it too obvious if bring it in as they bag search. If you can minimise bags on day you will get thru security quicker).

Studio is the Pixar stuff and is more show/film based. There is a stunt show and a car show. Might be ok fit kids that age if into stuff like that but it is I think more show based so need to look at website for show times and plan your day.

I would personally go for one park Disney if you have a day but that is only of neither kid big Pixar fan.
Staying nearby ok as miles better than expensive theme hotels unless you want to conceive like Copt says little Copt was when they did Disney.

malteserzz · 06/06/2013 11:58

Hope everyone's ok
I'm feeling less groggy today :)
Smee Disney is fab though gigs might disagree !
Earth good luck with the shower people I hope you can get it sorted if it will make your life easier
Trice lol at coffee enema each to their own and all that but I couldn't !
Hi to everyone else

I took my dressings off this morning as they told me to today was a bit freaked wondering what was underneath but mum helped me Smilestupid question but I just leave the steri strips ? Will they come off too eventually ? I've had a shower too so feel a bit more like me. Still not had any pain which is good and feeling more hungry today. Still having panicky moments about getting my results
Hope everyone has a good afternoon.sun is coming out here

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 12:03

I would leave steri strips til they fall off as they will. Good you feel brighter . You have has reasonable guidance on what tests etc mean from dr so I would try to be reassured by this . My op results actually came back and showed tumour not the nasty kind they first thought but another type so hope that helps.

Emin - yes hope you had luck with downstairs shower.

Trice- did coffee mate offer crystals?

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 12:05

And I like Disney with kids (and doing rides when younger tho did do roller coaster last weekSmile) but not my top Paris day out.

malteserzz · 06/06/2013 12:14

Thanks gigsSmile
I do feel a bit clueless with all this
How are you feeling today is the pump restrictive?
We've not been to euro Disney for years we used to go when the kids were little then moved on to Florida I'd love to go back sometime. Also to Paris we got engaged on the steps of sacre coeur Smile

smee · 06/06/2013 12:28

Thanks Gigs, that's mighty helpful. Am thinking DS might be more into the studio side. Last night he told me he doesn't get why people get so excited by Mickey Mouse as 'he just walks round in red pants'. Grin

Malt definitely leave steri strips for a good while yet. They usually come off by themselves, but if not you can get them off down the line. Gigs is right about the doctors, they do tend to be honest so whatever they've told you already is probably right. Smile

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 12:55

Glad to help smee.

At moment between pump (which is restrictive and bleeped when detached it for shower) and ga feeling quite restricted but sure will ease.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 06/06/2013 13:12

Hello all,

Just woke up again! :) must be very sleepy.

Betsy I hope today's appointments are going well.

trice Shock owch at coffee enema!! I hope you had a nice time with friend though.

malt glad you managed a shower and are feeling better today!

My mum is very anti-Disney so when we went to Paris as children we went to this amazing park instead of Disneyland. It had a wildlife park and rides and lots of arty activities and all sorts. I can't find it on Google though Sad will have to ask mum what it was called.

Feeling slightly traumatised by the Cliff photo, thanks gigs Grin can't say orange men do it for me either, Cliff or otherwise. I think I saw that pic or similar on a calendar at Christmas in Whsmith and I put a kitten calendar in front of it so no one else was offended by it!

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 06/06/2013 13:16

Aw malt that's lovely, sacre coeur is beautiful. Ex thought he might propose to me in Paris. Must wipe him from my memory Grin

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 13:24

Luxembourg jardins or jardin d' acclimation.

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 13:25

You will wipe him but its early days ruby.

malteserzz · 06/06/2013 13:33

Ruby you sound lovely and will find someone more worthy of you when you are ready SmileGood to rest if you need it
Just had nice cream cake, appetite back today!

sparklesunshine · 06/06/2013 13:36

Probably too late for this, but I found music distracting during MRI. The beats didn't match up, if you see what I mean.

smee · 06/06/2013 14:27

Sacre Coeur sounds so romantic, Malt. I hope you use it as an excuse to return for anniversaries. Smile

Gig, what do you have to do with the pump? Do you change the drain bottles, or are they coming to you?

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/06/2013 14:34

bugger,last message got lost...
was just saying that ruby you are an adorable girl and will soon have a worthy man I'm sure Smile
smee you must go on It's A Small World - I insist.
malt do you have glue as well ? that peels off eventually

malteserzz · 06/06/2013 14:42

I don't think I have glue just steri strips a line across my boob and under my arm. Still scared about the way he said my lymph node was enlarged but that was normal due to the biopsy, why say it then ? Wish he'd just took all my nodes if there was any doubt rather than have to have another op and more waiting, rant over !
We've not been back to Paris and we've been married nearly 16 years, we should Smile
Sitting in the sunshine with a drink, sadly orange juice but beautiful day.

BetsyBoop · 06/06/2013 14:43

Just a quick update

MRI done. Had CD with me but scanner 1 music 0 Grin
Glad it's done, and very glad I'm not claustrophobic!

Just grabbing a cuppa before heading to different part of hospital for the biopsies.

Will update when I get home and catch up with thread as crap 3G signal.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/06/2013 14:59

well done betsy
malt - not really good idea to have all your nodes out if you can help it as you'd then be at more risk of lymphoedema which is not nice. Try not to read too much into what was said Smile
Apparently I don't need any more mammograms (hooray) but just found this out after wondering why my yearly mammo appointment hadn't been made yet and ringing radiology who made me an appointment, thinking they'd forgotten to post a reminder in their files..or something.. bcn says that because i have secondaries and am being scanned and having chemo then it's not neccessary. Should have spoken to her first !

Gigondas · 06/06/2013 15:04

Malt your lymph nodes can enlarge for all sorts of reasons like biopsy, common infections etc so as mas says dont read too much into it.

And , and its an unknown yet, there is an issue - they come out as part if plan and its not the end. Look at mas and smee to name two.

malteserzz · 06/06/2013 15:10

Thank you, does everyone have panicky moments and end up googling and scaring themselves witless ? It's when I'm on my own mum is back now and I'm much calmer with her pottering about and chatting!
Betsy glad that's done how long till you get the results ?
MAS good news about no mammos Smile
