For SoftStuff, tyedye and anyone else who wants to join.

The rules are that you HAVE to sign in every night to let us know TRUTHFULLY how much you have drunk. You need to let us know your triggers too. So if you resisted for 12 hours but then cracked and had a beer - what finally snapped?

We'll be here to give you encouragement, support, advice and opinions.

Am going to bed now though, so will be having no more than 4 bacardis.

blueteddy · 05/05/2006 22:44

Too much! I don't know, it varies. Some weeks I will drink every night but try to stick to 2 (large) glasses of wine from Monday - Thursday & then the w/e is a different matter & I don't keep count.
I know I drink more than I should & that is why I have joined this thread.

tyedye · 05/05/2006 22:54

Souvenir,my dd"s and my DS"S snore less than my DP,generally, one son awaiting tonsillectomy(try spelling that on top of cheap rose")
I used to work"up-west"my sister still does, where do you hail from?CAT me if you like,it would be interesting!?I now live in norfolk, with animals, over and above those i reside with in my domestic settingGrin

blueteddy · 06/05/2006 09:34

Feel bad for hitting the bacardi last night. I try not to drink spirits if I can, as they tend to go down too easily!
I normally pour double measures, but have more coke in the glass than bacardi. H on the other hand pours half & half!
Glad I went to bed before deciding on a fifth one though.

souvenir · 06/05/2006 15:08

I had my usual 4 bottles last night but today I'm feeling rough, twinging pains in my kidneys etc. I've been having quite a lot of stomach cramps lately. I'm not sure if it's related to boozing ...

tyedye, all my family come from Norfolk and a few still live there now! I'm based in East London, close to Hackney. Did you decide to get out of London for a quieter life? I've always loved living here, I've been here for nearly 20 years now, but i'm beginning to feel rather jaded by it.

butty · 06/05/2006 15:15

hi tyedye, themoon and everyone else,

no i havn't been hidingGrin i've been off work ill all week as mentioned on tuesday and then to top the lot, my frigging broadband has gone down but hopefully should be fixed within the next 48 hours!!!!!!???????????

I have done really well this week, i only went out last night and i didn't really drink too much either so i am feeling quite proud of myself at the momentSmile

I had 2 pints and 4 double vodka redbulls, which is good going for me given the lengh of time i was out.

Anyway, i hope you are all doing well and i hope to back on the thread soon, you see i've had to hijack my mums pc just to post this messageGrin

Where did everybody go!?Shock

blueteddy · 07/05/2006 17:27

I have not been very good this w/e.
Went round to a friends house last night & had a few drinks and visited another friend this afternoon, who cracked open a bottle of wine.
Am intending to try & do 5 drink free nights starting from tomorrow.

tyedye · 07/05/2006 17:34

Oooh,hello BT,whats good anyway?Grin
for me,at present,"good"is not smothering a certain someoneGrinxx

blueteddy · 07/05/2006 17:40

When I say I haven't been good, I mean I have drunk far too much! Still it is the w/e!
Who is the certain someone that you haven't smothered?

blueteddy · 07/05/2006 17:45

Know the feeling!!!

SoftStuff · 07/05/2006 19:26

Hi... BlushSad
I got really quite plastered over the weekend (I ended up with a v rare child free weekend) and did some very stupid things.
I have got to stop this, I am going to end up killing myself at this rate and i'm deadly serious.
I'm sorry I disappeared, I am back and i'm going to do this, there is no longer a choice for me.

It's good to see so many others are still not giving giving up/cutting down. Smile

souvenir · 07/05/2006 21:37

How much did you put away softstuff? Nosy as always ... sorry ...

I keep wondering, with you lot, how none of you seem to feel unwell despite how much you drink? I'm on my regular bloody 3-4 bottles of beer a day and I have cracking headaches and now stomach cramps. Does nobody else have any physical symptoms which put them off boozing?

SoftStuff · 07/05/2006 21:46

I have absolutely no real idea how much I put away and I did try to alternate alcoholic drinks for soft ones, went right out of the window after a couple. Friday I was drinking until around 5am (from 7/8ish) and last night, well I saw the sun totally rise. It was also all the things I did. I was stupid, it was stupid.

Souvenir, I get physical symptoms too, particularly a bad stomach, I will occasionally get bad heads. It now has to all be in the past though.

tyedye · 07/05/2006 22:43

really pissed,i am crap and maudlin,night-night!

souvenir · 07/05/2006 22:43

I haven't done anything like a 'bender' for a very long time now. I'm just this boringly consistent, dependent boozer!

tyedye · 07/05/2006 22:50

Has anyone else linked booze and salt cravings?or is it just me?!

SoftStuff · 07/05/2006 22:58

that's really odd tyedye, just this morning i was craving salty things..

SoftStuff · 07/05/2006 23:02

looking at it I do really like salty things! (esp after a drink)

ItalianJob · 07/05/2006 23:02

////quick interlope in from a wellwisher

re:the salt cravings - I wonder if it's linked to dehydration - when I'm dehydrated sometimes I crave salty stuff, like chips, and of course alcohol is v dehydrating

souvenir · 07/05/2006 23:11

YES! Salty things. I can't get enough. But wouldn't salt make you more dehydrated?!

ItalianJob · 07/05/2006 23:15

I think if you're pretty dehydrated then you can be a bit low on salt, hence the salt craving, so your body can replace it???
