clear sunshine here too. I managed to sleep last night (although woken at 3 by dh and at 6 by the cat) and slept through my 8am alarm!!! woke at 8.45, bearing in mind parkrun starts at 9 cursed dh, got dressed and into the car and managed to get to the start line about 5 minutes after the start, oops. However managed a goodish run anyway and overtook the slimming world ladies so I wasn't even last!!!!!

Thats quite a handful of pills mas but well done for confirming the dose and starting. And a walk to Waitrose is nice exercise :) Hate to think how many calories in those cappuccino torts off the cake counter...

friend dropped in and had cup of tea as she had missed the start of her yoga class. walked across the park and had a swim, grabbed a bite to eat and I'm now contemplating making a cake. < procrastination emoticon>

smee · 22/09/2012 14:28

MAS, well done on taking the first lot. How many days do you take them for? I haven't a clue how it all works as it sounds very different to my chemo. Hope you keep feeling okay. Walking sounds good and sanity inducing. Smile

Sunny here too. Wishing all a lovely weekend. xx

topsyturner · 22/09/2012 15:21

You rattling yet Mas ?
I gag when I take tabs , DH is always threatening to wrap a towel round me and force them down my throat like you do with cats Grin

Just experiences The Hell On Earth That Is Ikea On A Saturday !
And after all that , we didn't even buy DDs bed as we couldn't fit it and us in the car for the journey home !!!
DH is going back tomorrow , on his own !
Grin

jchocchip · 22/09/2012 18:25

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/09/2012 18:48

14 days of tablets and 7 off smee
Have just been to see mum - she was fine, worried obviously. Feels better that she knows rather than keeping things secret.
Fish and chips for supper !
Well done for beating Slimming World ladies jane xx

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/09/2012 19:02

yum,Thai take out sounds fab... ds knows most of what';s going on- dad told mum and I've managed I hope to reassure.
side effects seem to include the usual nausea and can give you horrid diarrhoea (ick) sore mouth, sore hands and feet, fatigue etc

smee · 22/09/2012 19:12

hmm, does sound normal, but far from nice. Glad you've told DS too. Very tough for all of you. Fish and chips are the least you deserve. Hope you've got some Wine too. Smile

jchocchip · 22/09/2012 19:15

Mmmm fish and chips. and thai.

Side effects do sound ick but hope the chemo does its job. At least your Mum knows now so you can relax about her finding out.

My Mum is still worried about me and today she told me about a friend of hers - in her 70s or 80s - who has had a mastectomy.

Mum's big worry now is that she is going to die while my dd is living upstairs...

dd is missing the cat.

topsyturner · 22/09/2012 20:09

Fish and chips and Thai , and I'll add spag Bol to the mix !

How many rounds of these tabs are you expecting to have Mas ?
Am hoping you stay side effect free and don't experience chemo bum , cos that ain't nice !
How is T taking it all ?

Am having a few glass of wine whilst watching Dr Who .
Saturday night is Rock and Roll in the Topsy house ... Grin

Gigondas · 22/09/2012 20:26

I have just emptied the dishwasher and am waiting for dh to come back from Sainsburys so does that win topsy

mas side effects are indicative so you may be ok (looks at the amazon that is dr amber). But I am glad that you have told your mum so That isn't hanging over you. Hope you are enjoying your evening.

jchoc well done on run (Grinat over taking slimming world) and sometimes well done on article.

smee what did you do about new sofa?

Lazy day here - arm bruised as hell (seriously it looks worse than if I had been in a road accident - I hate fact that they came out with "oh you are on chemo , you bruise", no my bloods are normal in that regard and you have just knackered the arm I use for writing etc) but not so sore and feeling bit less tired.

I did a lot of cooking today and as a special treat ESP for those feeling tender or in need of a fix, I made Nutella pannacotta or plum and amaretto crumble.

Right going to have a large Wine now as you lot all seemed to.

Did anyone see Tom jones on tv last night? Have it recorded.

hmmm, wonder if I can learn to set alarm for am rather than pm next saturday...

jchocchip · 22/09/2012 20:41

i saw a bit of tom, but think I went to bed before the end... no stamina, me.

topsyturner · 22/09/2012 21:08

Gigs am now watching X Factor , admiring DH doing the ironing , and drinking more wine .
I think you'll find that beats your dish washer emptying into a cocked hat Grin

smee · 22/09/2012 21:29

Sofa's why we're having Thai, Gig. Sofa bed has to be lugged back downstairs and futon moved back up. That's to keep him sweet. Grin

Bugger about your arm. Have the veins gone black? Mine did. So not a good look ...

Missed Tom. What was he onc?

smee · 22/09/2012 21:30

Meant 'Thai's' not 'that's'..

jchocchip · 22/09/2012 21:43

cut and paste it will be on iplayer...

On Friday 21st September Tom takes over BBC4 with an evening of superb music.
Starting at 9pm with a repeat of the critically acclaimed, ?Imagine: Tom Jones ? What Good Am I??, where Alan Yentob meets Tom in the midst of the release of ?Praise & Blame?. With contributions by fellow entertainers including Jools Holland, Sandie Shaw, Robbie Williams, Cerys Matthews and Kelly Jones.
Following that at 10pm is the hugely anticipated ?BBC4 Sessions? recorded at the LSO St. Luke?s in London a couple of weeks ago. This is a session not to be missed ? a session of folk, country, gospel and blues that have dominated Tom?s last two albums. There?ll be a rehearsal-room vibe as Tom performs with a band led by his record producer, Ethan Johns.
Guests for this include Seasick Steve for a version of Mississippi Fred McDowell?s You Gotta Move ? famously covered by the Rolling Stones on Sticky Fingers; young Londoner Josh Osho on Big Bill Broonzy?s Black Brown and White blues ? and Tom Paley on the Mississippi Sheiks? Sitting on Top of the World.
The night is completed with ?Tom Jones at The BBC? at 11.15pm, which is a celebration of Tom?s performances, spanning the start of his career in the 1960s to his appearance on Later with Jools Holland just before he celebrated his 70th birthday in 2010. The programme includes archive footage of the Tom?s appearances on The Dusty Springfield Show and Top of the Pops.
Over 3 hours dedicated to Tom Jones, this is a night not to be missed!

smee · 22/09/2012 21:45

Ooh thanks Jane Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/09/2012 21:49

Gigondas · 22/09/2012 22:09

There are some absolute classic moments in Tom jones at the bbc- the skiing shots and one of Tom in his vest in Barbados are worth it.
