fingers crossed for good result jane xxx

jchocchip · 13/09/2012 21:10

Thanks. Would like to see the letter, now.

I know my brother arrived, because I spoke to him on the phone, but my daughter didn't go down when he got there and now can't find him. I guess he will turn up....

KurriKurri · 13/09/2012 21:34

Good vibes for your mammo results jane, - am sure everything will be fine xx

Smee I'd recommend starting with the Garnethill trilogy (first one is called 'Garnethill', the second is 'Exile' and the third 'Resolution') - she's pretty uncompromising about crime and brutality, but the lead character is so interesting you just want to read about her. The Padyy Meehan one's that Baskets mentioned are great too, I've only read the first Alex Morrow one so far.

I read a lot of crime fiction, strangely I find it very relaxing - it's my guilty pleasure! I like Stuart McBride - his books are set in Aberdeen, although he can be a bit gruesome, but also very funny at times.
I think I especially like books with a strong sense of place, - particularly if it's somewhere I know.

I've recently finished The Behaviour of Moths (can't remember the author) which is a kind of mystery story -set in Dorset where I grew up, - a strange but enjoyable book.

Sorry - have waffled on about books, but I love reading. By the way MAS I gae my Mum 'Notes From an Exhibition' for her birthday (I know you are a Patrick Gale fan) and she loved it. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/09/2012 07:05

oh I'm so pleased your mum liked the Patrick Gale kk - ned is a big fan too ! Have just stuffed myself with yogurt, banana and toast and lemon curd and a cup of green tea- hope that keeps me upright.

topsyturner · 14/09/2012 07:42

Just bobbing on to wish you all the positive vibes in the world for today Mas

Is postie bringing them ?

Gracie hoping your last chemo is treating you well !

Gigs are you getting out today , or do I have to don my camos and face paint and mount a rescue mission ???

To everybody else , doughnuts and hugs !
It's Friday people , we have made it through another week Grin

I'm off to get my manky boob looked at in hospital now .
So am giving out a warning to all on the 7a heading into the city centre , I will be the one with the pink headphones in singing out loud to Abba and trying to show strangers the Boob Of Mankiness ... Grin

topsyturner · 14/09/2012 07:43

KK shhhhh - crime fiction is one of my guilty pleasures .
DH thinks my bookshelves look like an academy for serial killers Grin

NedSchneebly · 14/09/2012 07:51

Got everything crossed for you today MAS - let's get a plan and then we can all travel on the journey along with you. Massive hugs x x x

kurri i love Patrick gale! Facts of life is my favourite, and friendly fire too.

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/09/2012 08:19

Gigondas · 14/09/2012 09:24

Fingers crossed no need for topsy to turn up in camo as should be out later (I am saying this tentatively as it is usually about now they appear and say I need blood transfusion/potassium/random other drug).

mas and jane sending you good thoughts.

ned do you have to watch assembleY?

OP posts:
graciesmall09 · 14/09/2012 09:33

Thinking of you today mas. Think a huge Costa is in order after. Just wanted to say a huge, huge thanks for the picture. DH loves it. He was very surprised and is going to get a frame as it wants it for beside his bed. So thank you again.

jane hope that postie delivers your results today. You are very patient I would have had the hospital plagued for my results. I used to work as a medical secretary and we had people phoning all the time.

If I hear the police helicopters up I will know topsy is flashing again. It is a wonder Translink haven't banned you by now Grin

Any sign on you getting released yet gigs. Hope you aren't feeling too yuck.

Aw baby piggies sparkle love pork but don't think I could kill my own. Will have some raspberries though.

Well just waiting for nurse to come to replenish my driver and then I'm off to pay for my new car, don't get it until Tuesday but they are taxing it for me so need all the bumpf.

Thinking of you all. waves to smee, kurri, ned hope little neds assembly goes ok, still no word from pink hope her appointment went ok. Hope I haven't missed anyone.

topsyturner · 14/09/2012 09:37

Am in hospital waiting room with large latte and a croissant .
Managed to be an hour early today , prob as didn't get hauled off the bus by armed response unit for flashing ...
Grin

topsyturner · 14/09/2012 09:37

And how exciting re the new car Gracie
May I be first to ask the most important question ?
What colour is it ???

amberlight · 14/09/2012 09:44

Hugs and thoughts and Brew for all those awaiting results/having tests/feeling urk

graciesmall09 · 14/09/2012 10:18

Blue car topsy. Mum bought me it - only stipulation don't buy a blue car as mum has crashed every blue car she had - of course I just fell in love with it and wouldn't be shifted. So if you ever fancy me whisking you away for a fancy coffee I'm your girl - no flashing allowed though.

smee · 14/09/2012 10:19

MAS, hope Costa Coffee time arrives v.soon and it's all looking manageable at least. xx

Topsy an hour early's a bit ott! You need more snacks than a croissant.

Baskets and Kurri, thanks both, I think I'll go get the first of the Garnett Hill Trilogy.

Gig, fingers crossed for a fast escape. Have they done their rounds yet??

Ned, aw, hope assembly was lovely. What was it about??

Gracie, how's the chemo hitting you today?? Hope not too bad. Car's an excellent distraction, but Topsy's right we need to know what colour.

OTM, how are you today?? Okay I hope.

Jane if no letter I reckon you should call BCN. Not fair to keep you waiting over the weekend and it'll be on her computer.

Waving to all others, got a mountain of work to get through, but have a huge jug of coffee on the go for anyone who's around. Smile

graciesmall09 · 14/09/2012 10:28

gracie dips her toe into woo woo land. When I was speaking to surgeon on Monday he was asking when rads would start, etc., and he was saying about how important it was to moisturise DH said hospital said only Diprobase but he advised Hemp Oil. Was having a juke on interweb and seeming hemp oil has shown good results for cancer/leukemia. Amber am looking for your expert knowledge, have you ever heard anything like this?

topsyturner · 14/09/2012 10:56

Wound checked .
Still there , but improving .
On bus on way home , and no one wants to see my mankiness ! (which iPhone keeps wanting to change to manliness !!!!)

Stopped at mini tesco and bought naice ham , fresh (still warm) crusty bread , jammy doughnuts , flapjacks , crispy squares , and choccie trifles .

Gracie you can come and get me in your shiny blue car whenever you want !

smee · 14/09/2012 11:21

Yeay for mini Tescos, and for improving wound, Topsy. Smile

Shiny blue sounds snazzy, Gracie. Have never heard of the hemp thing, but you're right, Amber's bound to know. Grin

Gigondas · 14/09/2012 11:52

Changes destination from home to topsys as no naice ham (or 3 kilo of broccoli) til sainsburys order turns up later .

OP posts:
Gigondas · 14/09/2012 11:53

Just got back from coffee and carrot cake with a friend (was sooooo yummy)
Checking for news from Mas

smee · 14/09/2012 14:27

Hmm, I keep checking in too. Hope she's okay.

amberlight · 14/09/2012 15:11

scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/2009/08/19/cannabinoids-for-treating-cancer/ might or might not help re the hemp oil.
Many say it's very useful. But most research is blocked because of the links back to the illicit drug industries.
Not sure.
